Miori Takimoto: Perfect Blue drama episode 1 recap and screenshots

Hadn't known about this drama until just a few days ago but looked fairly interesting so thought I'd give the first episode a view to see how it was and it came out so far to be a winner, mainly serious and a bit intense, really shows some promise.

Hasumi Kayoko (Takimoto Miori), the rookie investigator at the all-female Hasumi Detective Agency, always observes people and cases in a level-headed manner. She detests lies and secrets, and has a strong sense of justice. Her late father worked at the city news desk of a newspaper, but committed suicide 7 years ago. However, the truth lies in darkness and Kayoko's mother, Kyoko (Zaizen Naomi), the agencys director, has been secretly pursuing the facts. An incident becomes the catalyst that entwines Kayoko and the people around her, and she closes in on the truth behind her father's death.

As you can see from the above synopsis this will have a couple storylines going though I think for each episode Kayoko and the other investigators will be solving a different case. The first case dealt with a woman who came to the agency because she thought she was being stalked, Kayoko assigns herself to watch over her, they begin by going for a morning jog when they stumble across a dead body hidden in a small remote grassy area. For some reason their phones wouldn't work there so they had to leave to call the police but however when they and the police arrive at the scene the body is gone! Plus the police dog named Masa that works with Kayoko has been hurt which surprised all as it was an ex-police dog and one of the best, could the dead man have risen and hurt it or were others involved in this mystery?

I'm not going to draw this out too much, will try to give just the real basics and not too much of the plot away, but there is much going on behind the scenes. Sakiko was the woman who hired Kayako because she thought she was being stalked, she also said she was engaged to someone who the yakuza were after for owing them money, as the mystery unravels though Sakiko wasn't engaged to the man she said she was but it was his brother who was also the one who had disguised himself as the dead man they had come upon. Ah, but in the meantime the original brother had now committed suicide by hanging himself, but did he or was it the work of the yakuza? Also, was Sakiko using the agency and Kayako in a brilliant scheme to cover up the suicide and what were the actual intentions of the real man she was engaged to? Ahhhh, it all comesout in a somewhat dramatic ending as Sakiko realizes she was double crossed and ends up not only killing her fiancee' but herself right in front of Kayako who couldn't stop either action.

Hope that was enough yet not too much for you to check out this new series, good to leave you wondering a bit, first episode aired on October 8th, only one subbed so far but once more are will be doing some more updates on them. Thought this shows real potential to be a solid drama, had enough mystery and other things going on that made it an interesting watch. Also there are two or maybe more storylines going on such as will they find out the reason for Kayako's father's death and who is this man who runs the cafe they visit often called 'Master' who seems to know so much about the work of detectives? Looking forward to viewing the next episode, no cliffhanger as I think each episode will have it's own case to solve, but as far as the first episode goes would recommend it, hoping it'll stay as interesting and fresh as it's started out to be, also check out the next post for many screenshots of Miori from the show where maybe you can follow the plot a bit better.
