If you've seen the 2012 drama then you know what to expect, our trio solving a murder that occured behind locked doors, think every episode from the drama was a murder case to solve. Only difference here is that there were 3 cases to solve, two of them were murders.
Enomoto had disappeared at the end of the drama, many thought it was him who had committed a jewelery heist, he says he didn't but nobody really knows for sure as they wonder where he got the money to travel around the world and open his own security company, he's the only employee though. First case wasn't a murder to solve but an old man who was having a heat attack was saved by a masked intruder, the room was completely sealed so how was someone there to save him? I won't go into every detail on these cases but the apartment maintenance man was there as he thought the old man was not there. The maintenance man happened to be there to wipe off his fingerprints, he didn't commit a crime there but was at the scene of a murder and even though he wasn't the murderer he was covering his tracks anyway. That murdered person he stumbled upon turned into the second case.

In the second case another older man was involved except that he was murdered, once again the crime took place behind locked doors. This was an easier case for Enomoto and his cohorts to solve as the old man was going to leave his deceased wife's art collection to a local museum but when he heard the director was involved in some shady criminal activities he withdrew the offer. In a very ingenious crime the director killed the older man with a golf club at his home but left the house securely locked where it looked impossible for anyone to get in or out. Well of course Enomoto figured how the method to leaving the house secure, won't get into it as it was a bit above my head but it was quite an elaborate scheme which seemed impossible to pull off but in the movies anything is possible. However before the director could be accused of the crime he died, looked like a suicide but was it really one as of course the death happened in a locked room.

And then in the final case of course it was no suicide as Enomoto deduced but how could he prove it? The directors office at the museum was locked and there were security cameras everywhere so if it was a murder how did the culprit manage to enter the office. Well it came down to the museum's most popular artist Inaba who ended up doing the crime, he caught wind that his works were being sold for a hefty price by the Yakuza, he had known about this for a while but could live with it. But when he learned the director had killed the man that had withdrew his donation of his wife's art collection he could no longer remain quiet and immediately went into action. In another elaborate plan Inaba was able to enter the office and do the murder by using some optical illusions and manipulating the security cameras. Very ingenious scheme but of course no scheme is too difficult for Enomoto to solve and he did though this may have been his hardest one to date to solve, thus ends the movie.

Naturally much more happened but that's a good outline of what occurred, really give this a high recommendation, if you viewed the drama then you would enjoy this movie too. Along with the drama it's not a classic but it has that something which makes it so fun to watch, hope this wasn't the only movie they'll have. This movie received a 15.9% rating which is very good considering it aired on a Friday night so perhaps with it being that successful there will be at least one more encore movie. I'll give this a rating of a 9/10, like I said if you saw the drama then you'll want to watch this and if you haven't seen the drama then highly recommend watching that, it did win quite a few awards for both the show and actors. Being an Erika movie there's naturally many, many screenshots of her, hard not to take them when she's on the screen and you can find them in the next 2 posts, she really looks terrific but then again as a few of you may know I've never, ever said Erika doesn't look terrific in whatever she's been in.
