Kana Nakada: A huge potpourri of this and that's....
Of course most have noticed these days that the vast majority of posts for J-Pop Idols are for those who have graduated. The post below this is for my top current Idol but besides her there's no one else who has posts on a consistent basis and things have really changed here over the last five years. I personally prefer doing post for those who have graduated as to me the older they get the better looking they become plus haven't ex-Idols been so much busier the last five years compared to those still with their groups? That observation is so true and what I've also noticed is the more popular ex-Idols aren't ones who were superstars with their groups. Someone such as Kana has worked harder than most others and it's paid off as very few if any ex-Nogi gals have had a more successful solo career and I am glad to see that as she is one likable and definitely alluring woman! But it's not just her who has become more popular, so haven't another pair of Nogi graduates plus you can say the same for two ex-HKT members and a few other '48' gals but not with Hina or Keya as most of their graduates seem to disappear....
Sometimes I just blabber things from the top of my head, in a way the above was but your medium popular Idols becoming semi stars the last few years is something I have noticed. This is already Kana's fourth post of the year so for the first time ever it appears she'll be eligible for the yearly faves list, six posts are needed. Would never have thought it would happen as I expected Kana to be like so many other Nogi members who we don't hear about too often after their departure. But that hasn't been the case as she had a few posts last year and as mentioned above I'm glad someone such as her is finally hitting it biggish, also have mentioned may times how to me while Kana was with Nogi she was kind of the glue that held the group together. As most fans know she's such a whiz at the sport of Mahjong and is in the M League which is for pro players. She also appears on many variety shows, hosts a web one for Mahjong and has released two books this year.... but the best one will be her third of 2025 which will be her second photobook, that comes out on May 27th and am I looking forward to that!!!!
Was worried about not being able to do a post today but then noticed by cache of new Kana photos was building up so once again she saved the day! Well, wouldn't call it a huge cache but there's over fifty pics never seen here before such as these older monthly Nogi cards. It being April have many for the month which go backwards from 2020 to 2017.
It's almost impossible to do a post for an ex-Nogi member and not include some things from when they were with the group. Will have one other 'Blast from the past' set here which is from the May 2019 edition of Entame so it's about six years old.
Do have a pair or new Kana magazine spread, both feature outtake pics from the upcoming photobook and there should be a few more spreads in the future for the book. First up is this set from the April 8th issue of Flash, neither spread is large enough.
In a couple of those above pics it looks like Kana has long legs, maybe in a way she does but her height is just 158 cm. Second up for new magazine spreads is this set from the April 18th issue of Friday, bottom one is a clean version of the first page.
Will have one more mag spread that's neither new nor from her days as a Nogi member. While with them don't think Kana was ever the cover girl for a magazine but she's had the honor four times the last two years, below is her first tome as a cover girl which is from the October 16, 2013 edition of Big Comic Spirits, the pics get an A++++ from me but like the above sets which it was larger.
Back in February Kana's first book was published, it was about the sport of Mahjong and she created an easy to read manual on how to learn the rules and become a master. On March 18th yet another book was released but the subject was entirely different, the title of the book is "Analysis Memorial" which in a way appears to be close to an autobiography. It's set in an essay format and Kana looks back on her life though I can't give a review as I haven't read it. On April 2nd there was an event for the book at the HMV bookstore in Shibuya, below are plenty of terrific photos from the event. So far there's no videos from this event but there is one from March 18th as another was held on the day of the book's release, didn't include any photos from that one but the video is after the pics.
