Did this set of posts differently than any others as I started from the seventh post and worked my way up to this one. You read that correctly as there's SEVEN(!) posts for this year's #1 which no doubt you've realized is Maimi who also could be by number one idol of all time. What a list that would turn out to be, figuring my top twenty Idols wouldn't be too difficult as 80% of the list has been stable for a few years now but that battle for number one would be one clash.
If you're newish to Maimi would recommend reading all of the posts and also all of her older ones as there's very few things about her since 2010 that are missing. The remaining posts have quite a mixed bag of goodies such as two posts for cards plus ones for mag spreads, assorted pics and DVD screenshots. The last one you'll stumble across is a review for her 2009 film "Fuyu no Kaidan", Maimi had the lead role in the movie and it was the first time I viewed it.
So thinking this could be the smallest of the seven posts but there's still plenty of fine looking pics plus a bit of current news. In all bet there's four hundred or so pics spread out among the posts, nice time to add on to your Maimi pic collection.
Quite often I've said that Maimi is probably the most beautiful woman ever in history and that thought has remained the same for a while, that smile could melt an iceberg! Now that C-ute is no longer a group doubt if Maimi will make any more of these lists, just occurred to me finishing #1 means you're ineligible for any more lists except if there ever is one for my all time Idols.
Don't think Maimi will continue on being a singer and it's such a shame we'll never see the quintet together again performing those timeless songs. However Maimi is keeping busy as she still hosts her Saturday night radio show which she's been doing for over nine years now. Maimi is also a writer now as on December 22nd she released a book titled "Relaxed, casual and fluffy" which is an odd title. She talks about being a leader and the struggles one goes through, Maimi was C-ute's leader for twelve years and also the commander for Hello Project groups for two years. At the top of the post is a brief promo video for the book, also on the 24th there was an event for it but searched high and low but could only find one blog pic for it.
Maimi is a so-so blogger but she does keep everyone updated on all of her activities. These are a few recent pics from it as you can tell by the first few.
C-ute released their seventh and final photobook "Brilliant" on September 10th, it was an okay PB but not the group's best book as it was mainly about their disbandment. There was a brief behind the scenes video of it which was also a bit lacking in enjoyment though the members did look oki doki.
The "Fuyu no Kaidan" film which is the final post for this mini marathon was a quasi-horror flick, a decent movie but seemed to be aimed more at teens which makes sense. A film that was truly a fun watch was "Zomvideo" and did a review on that at least a year ago. That was also a horror flick, did give it a favorable rating and do recommend viewing it. It's an older film that came out in October 2011, never did post pics from the premiere as there weren't many though did stumble across some and the top ones are a few H!P cards for the film. of course with Maimi is her best buddy Saki.
Coming close to the end of this first post but don't forget to check out the ones following this one. Occurred to me that I've never posted the scans from Maimi's fifth photobook "Tabioto which came out on November 27, 2011. Will have to work on getting them which is a nice excuse to have more posts in the future. These are a few pics from a hand shaking session Maimi had for the PB the day following it's release but what's highly recommended is the behind the scenes video after the pics. it starts off with it raining out, there's a reason her nickname is 'Rain Girl'!
Wooo quite a ride there with the Maimi posts m8, liked the 4th one the most(2nd one tho seems oki-doki holy-moly) but have yet to read the film one coz i just wanted to throw this out. Choosing a fave pic out these 7 posts would be an even longer ride. This will probably be my longest comment of all time so do sit down and have a coffee as i did.
ReplyDeletePart4: Woahh you got called out for using their pics, you're getting famous baus
Ok so the long awaited...Simon’s Top 20(yayy) I’m excluding Idols as that will just leave zero space for anyone else and that can be a different list of its own one day someday sometime next year or two (ah, Jiyeon... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk884bCvxm0 ) so movin on,
20.Suzy Bae
(May have not been a big Miss A fan back in the day, I was a Suzy fan)
19.Rena Takeda
18.Riko Narumi
17.Park Bo-Young
(A werewolf boy...so bittersweet)
16.Han Ji-Min
(Been a while since I’ve seen a k-drama, the small things were getting to my head with ‘Rooftop Prince’ like the...background music ohhh gawd hearing the same song, THE SAME SONG! THE SAME VOICE! Like every 5 mins ohhh boy that was annoying. Romance parts also dragged on and on, there was a scene where we’re basically the third wheel just walking along with them in silence while they do some couple stuff...other than that, it’s alright.)
15.Yuko Araki
(...Shethat’s why. Cool/Badass in ‘Crisis’, cute in ‘Our Meal for tomorrow’ but wasn’t my kind of movie, it was a bit boring for me.)
14.Mirei Kiritani
(Y-Mobile commercials)
13.Tao Tsuchiya
12.Kasumi Arimura
11.Erika Sawajiri
(Only really found out about her recently coz I was looking for something to make me cry. 1 litre of tears didn’t do the job but it was still good hence watched more Erika stuff. Also she looks real nice.)
Ok so had to split it coz only 4,096 characters can be used
10.Ryoko Hirosue
ReplyDelete(She’s in Mix. I wanna watch it)
9.Tsubasa Honda
8.Han Hyo-Joo
7.Shizuka Nakamura
6.Mitsuki Takahata
5.Aya Ueto
(Despite only having one! ONE!! movie this year and it doesn’t look like one I’d watch, she still is in the softback cm which is all good)
4.Yui Aragaki
(eh-hem…..MIX!!)
3.Song Ji-Hyo
(Ms Mong! Although she’s not really active in terms of acting, she’s a member on TV show called ‘Running Man’ which comes out weekly and I highly recommend watching if ya don’t know about it but there’s about 382 eps now going for about 90mins each so ya might need a holiday. Guests often appear on the show and…Ko Sung-Hee appeared in ep 377, Suzy… ep55 93-94 117 155 172-173 208, for ep 381…😊 and more that I won’t bother jotting down anymore)
2.Anna Konno
(Just, well...who cares if it’s winter where ya are but make sure your freezer is empty coz ya gonna throw yourself in there and be like Avatar for a while)
1.1st place...*drum roll*...YOO-BUM!!(surprise surprise)…
1st place: Rika Izumi (Just about any Rika post here indeed will be able to suffice in reasoning but uhhh...intro post#2 seems like a good start ay)
Names I wanted to add but couldn’t due to (enter long excuse):
ReplyDelete-Yu In-Young (…Haven’t seen her in any drama/movie, only ep 231 of Running Man and she looked sexy with short hair, sharp too.)
-Kim Ji-Won (First ep of ‘Descendants of the sun’ she looked real cute. Dunno if I want to keep watching the show though)
-Lee Min-Jung (‘Wonderful Radio’, sweet film but not as sweet looking as her)
-Lim Ju-Eun (Her looks are sharp and sssexayy, like really ssssssexayyy. Saw her in ‘Wild Romance’, first ever k-drama I’ve watched and I’ve forgotten most of what happened and found the ending pretty stupid so that’s my take on that. She’s not really a movie person which kinda barrel rolls me over)
-Kang Ji-Young (Because I was a big KARA fan)
-Han Ga-In (Same as Yu In-Young but ep87 + Inactive for about 5 years now. Super-duper pretty tho!)
-Moon Geun-Young (Saw ‘My Little Bride’ and she’s cute)
-Jung Yoo-Mi (‘Rooftop Prince’, real 🔥 but that’s about as far. Haven’t seen anything else)
-Saki Aibu (Like her a bunch but there’s not really anything now that’s poking their head out to watch.)
-Yuki Uchida (Other than the tid-bits from ya, ‘Don Quixote’ is as far as I’ve watched with her in it but it’s a really good show, do recommend it for a laugh)
-Yuko Takeuchi (‘Golden Slumber’ ‘Creepy’ ‘Be with you’ all pretty sweet films. ‘Creepy’ was so-so. Pretty lady though.)
-Mari Yamachi (She’s quite recent, dunno where I’ve seen her face before. Sites didn’t really help)
-Ai Hashimoto (Seen a few of her stuff, really like her but just like Saki, nothing is poking their head out.)
-Haruka Fukuhara (1st half of ‘Good Morning Call’ was pretty good but 2nd half just got annoying. She still hella cute. Apparently there’s a season 2….yeah nah not gonna watch that. She’s also not 20+)
-Hirona Yamazaki (coz she looks like Junna Ito IMO. Only seen her in ‘Prison School’, haven’t seen the anime or manga but thought it was pretty neat. Other than that, she looks cool)
-Riisa Naka (Same as Saki and Ai)
- Aoi Morikawa
Guess the reason overall is, I find myself looking forward to more from the 20 than these pretty ladies though I do want to squeeze them in somewhere. So yeah, pretty happy with that. Don't have a chimney so Santa couldn't come down so I told him to leave it at the front door instead and so i was welcomed with a fedex, pretty happy now. Happy days
Will be back later with a bigger reply as time is short but hadn't known there was a limit for characters. Surprised Suzy was so low but at least she made the list as I can see her being in my top ten next year.
ReplyDelete'Don Quixote' was a good show but wish Yuki's role was bigger, you really can't go wrong with any of her dramas.
Saki's series 'Zettai kareshi' was really a fun watch and seeing as you have Aya on your list then 'Attention Please' that stars both of them is recommended. Have checked out a few of those Korean actresses who I wasn't too familiar and perhaps I'll do something for them in the future.
Didn't know ya had a Ji-won post(checked the other one too), like her more with the short hair I saw but hell, looks aight👍.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know where to put Suzy so just went "yep right here".
Favourite ep of 'Don Quixote' was the one where the guys in the car were tryna confess their love to the girls on the bus XD
Watched the first ep of a drama called 'Impossibility Defense' RAW coz doubt there will be subs coming and it was one I wanted to check out(if ya see the cast then you'd know why😊) but now that i did, it's pretty dark, OK watch so far but kinda wanna wipe some parts of my memory so I can watch some of the other dramas again like 'Zettai kareshi' and 'Attention Please' and more. Ended up binge watching the hell out of those two. Ah, Mariya Nagao was in the first ep of 'Impossibility Defense', she did pretty good but one thing about the show is that...it aint no kids show. Only 4 eps and a movie for this
That 'Impossibility Defense' drama looks interesting, seems way too many of the best shows never get subbed. Kind of brain dead right know so will continue this later, main reason for that is I just finished recapping the "Re:Mind" series and that ending has sent me for a loop....
ReplyDeleteOnce a fave gets married and has kids I almost always stop posting about them. That happened to Aya a few years back but to this day she's right near the top for being my all time fave. Also would have her on my top twenty Idols list, bet many forget it but what a huge Idol she was a decade ago and her songs were very underrated.
ReplyDeleteAlso the stuff that happens cuts back a lot when they get married and such(Lee Min-Jung is about the same). Yeah, heard a bit of her songs when I was looking for trailers she's in and went "what, she sings!?" haha, favourite song so far is 'pureness'.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxdwsnfVb2s
Was Gakky a singer too? coz there are also some vids of her singing, some related to movies but they're also some others. There's no MV but my favourite being 'Heart Will Drive'....oh nooo they took it down :(
It's only half song but guess this one will do
