Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Maimi Yajima: Few recent happenings....

Maimi didn't get quite away but if I do need to follow her may be a good time for that coming up. Think I may be taking a mini break even though I said a few posts or a new series were coming up. Not that I'm bored with posting but seems many viewers may have gotten a bit bored with the posts the last two months as viewership as dropped by a quarter plus I've only received two comments in the past month.
So either tomorrow or Wednesday will be doing four recaps for the "Kakegurui" drama and then will take a breather for a while, maybe I'll wait until I can do another post for Maimi to come back. On the other hand just may do a recap for all ten episodes at once which means this will be the final post for a while.

That next post for her will be a lot sooner than you would think as two weeks ago heard the best news of the year. That's of Maimi releasing her first photobook since the breakup of C-ute, title of it is "Blinking" and it'll be coming out on November 10th. On that date Maimi will be holding an event for the book and expect to see her promoting the book a bit more than her older ones. Only two advance pics have been released which were on her blog though the first pic may be from the PB.

Not a lot of one thing today but Maimi has been busy doing many mini projects lately, had the PB come out two months ago that may have pushed her to the top spot on my all time faves list. She'll be in the next issue of UTB which hasn't been released yet, she'll be on the back cover. That's the top pic and have an old UTB spread after that from May 2011 which had never been posted before.

Maimi has been in a pair of stage plays this year and she had the lead role in her last one which was "Lady Outlaw" that ran from September 14th until the 24th. There were some pics from a 'The.TV.' web interview that I had somehow missed in her posts for being third on my all time top faves list.

Miami also just completed her first mini tour that ran from October 6th until the 14th for seven shows. They were mini concerts and also fan club events that were held in small clubs. Read one review for it which said the show was quite good though it only drew a little over 200 fans. She had a real band backing her, of course some old C-ute songs were performed and most weren't their hits. Unfortunately not many pics from the shows but would expect there will be a DVD of one of them.

Above are a few members of ANGERME who were at one of the shows. Actually the show that had only a little over 200 fans was in Osaka, know the ones in Tokyo drew a much larger audience. Maimi is now in her first prime time drama, it started on October 18th and is called "Way too Kawaii". So far haven't found the first episode yet but will keep looking, if you notice she changed her hair color for the role.

Maimi is still co-hosting the "Furusato no Yume" travel show on TBS and it'll be celebrating it's second anniversary in January. Have only seen a few shows as it's not subbed but they were enjoyable watches and is there a better pairing in the world than these two????

From October 18th until the 20th Maimi was in Kumagaya City for their major 'Satoyama and Satoumi Festival'. That city is in Saitama which is where she's from, it's a huge festival with sporting events, meeting celebs, buying various things and whatever, it's held at the Kumagaya Sports Cultural Park. Lot of H!P members were there along with a few of her old mates and how I wish they would go on some sort of reunion tour, the trio is in the bottom pics and 4/5 of C-ute hail from Saitama. Kind of long but have a promo video after the pics for the event.
