Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Nogizaka46: "The Legend of Sugisawa Village" movie intro post....

As the title says this is an 'intro post' and the following post has the review of this film. In all honesty didn't think it was that good though it could have been much better and explained what the problems were in the post. But it is a Nogi film and that may appeal to some of you fans, it's the third film I've reviewed in the trio of them that came out in 2014. There's another Nogi horror film that came out in 2015 titled "Eyes" which looks to be a decent film and bet is better than the trio I've reviewed but sadly has never been subbed.

Thought I'd have this intro post for not much of the true mystery of Sugisawa village was told in the next post. Not going to go into much detail in this one but will have a bit of info about the legend to prepare you for the film which concerns a trio of young men doing a documentary of the cursed village. Also have some other things in this post as some event pics and to end off some truly superb pics of this movie's star which is Nene who really was a member I liked early on.

There's many articles out there about this tragedy and curse, have read a few of them and it is quite interesting. Very rarely do I talk about things like this but never have much of a chance in the kinds of posts done, do try to describe what Japanese words mean or certain holidays or such but never old history though isn't most history old? Sugisawa was a village in Aomori prefecture which is known for it's apples. But there was also a gruesome incident back in the 1920's and a lot of details remain unknown as the crime was covered up but completely is impossible to do.

What took place was that a male villager went mad and killed all of the other residences of the very small village. He then committed suicide so there were no survivors who could relate the story of what exactly took place and why. The people of the area had an inkling of what took place and attempted to erase the village from history as it was deleted from maps and official documents. There's much more to the story but that's a brief overview and you may want to check out more of what took place. This film was set in the village and though most of it was 'erased' a few buildings and a major Torii gate remained standing.

As mentioned there was a trio of Nogi horror films that came out in 2014, all starred lesser known members but ones I've always liked. "Death Streamed Live" starred Ami and that was an okay film, not a must watch but better than this film. Kana had the lead role in "Death Blog" and that was a movie I enjoyed and she really did a superb job. Nene was the star of this film and more about her near the bottom. "The Legend of Sugisawa Village" was the final of the three films to come out on June 28, 2014. But six days prior to that there was a mini event for the movie which also featured the other Nogi members with a horror film. With Kana announcing her graduation all four gals who had a film will no longer be with the group and that reminded me that I still would like to do some group posts for graduated members.

On June 28th the film had it's small premiere, Nene is such a cute gal and along with the first two films the cast consisted of actors who you've never heard of. The event took place at the Cinemart in Roppongi and the title of the trio of horror films was 'The Most Scary City Legend'.

Few screenshots from the movie which will be in the next post, her character's name was Hiroko. My biggest beef about the film is that it didn't have enough dialogue so it was hard to judge whether she's a decent actress or not, also made it difficult at times to know what was going on.

Above is the link to a post done on May 5, 2019 for Nene's only photobook "Hanikamu", to me it's one terrific book and is better than most Nogi ones. Also did one other solo post for her with a few mag spreads and such, think it's time for another solo post and how many Nogi fans remember her? These are some pics from the PB and at 148 cm Nene is the shortest member in Nogi's hisory. Will save everything else for that next solo post though it won't be happening immediately, here's another link which is for her new YT channel that she opened up on July 1st: Nene's YT channel
