Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Hinatazaka46: A little(semi-lot) of this and that for 2023 #9....

Bit of a quickie post, wanted to have two for the day plus didn't want these pics to get a bit dated. Did say there would be a lot of solo posts this month for the members, there have been some but not a huge amount but they will be coming. The problem is most of the previous solo posts are currently in that section for 'Most viewed posts for the past month' and didn't want the posts competing with each other, once someone's post drops out will do another for them. However don't think Yuka's post will and that's her right above, can't believe how popular that post is. In that post think I mentioned her graduation would be taking place on July 16th but it's actually the 19th and think so many fans will miss her. Below is Mei and she's a member who I haven't mentioned for a while, won't today either.

This morning was working on this post and such an odd thing happened. Went to the Hina site and less than five minutes before I visited they updated it with news about their tenth single! That's a shock to me and bet most fans, below is the screenshot I took at the site. No info is available yet but the single will be coming out on July 26th and the Senbatsu lineup will be announced on next week's 'Aimashou' show. This could be the first time we see the new fourth generation members on the main song and does that mean some of the old-timers will become 'Undergirls'? What surprises me is the release date as Keya's next single is coming out on June 28th, you would have thought the group would have waited just a bit longer as not to affect their sales.

Not too large post but as mentioned wanted to have a second for today plus there hasn't been enough group posts this year. Had been working on a post for Hiyori and that's who I thought the Hina post for today would be for. But just couldn't get enough new things for a post but will still be working on one, these are some recent photos from her IG page.

I'm really beginning to fall hard for Mikuni and I wish she was just a few years older. At 168 cm she's Hina's tallest member and have some brand new pics from the group blog.

Another pair of members you don't see often enough here are Mana from the first generation and the 3G gal Haruyo. Both are going to be in a July stage play based upon a manga titled "Seishun Rascal", hope I got that info correct. The pair just did a new interview with the Natalie site that has much more about the play and manga, here's the link to it: Natalie interview

Here's some sharp looking pics which are promo ones for the group's 'Mysterious Library' game. These pics are of Hinano and she's an easy young woman to like and root for. The bottom pic is for a new drama she'll have the lead role in which is "DIY: Do It Yourself". That will begin on July 4th and by the synopsis it looks to be a very entertaining series, have a strong feeling it will be subbed and if so will recap the drama.

There's been such a shortage of magazine spreads for the three '46' groups and why has that been? No new ones for today so let's have an encore viewing of this set from the April 21st issue of Young Gangan. It features Hina's captain Kumi along with Shiho, her first photobook is coming out in less than two weeks and promise to have another solo post for her very soon.

Will end off with my tiniest recap ever for the 'Aimashou' variety show. One reason is that I'm very short on time and the more major one is that this wasn't nearly as entertaining as other shows. These screenshots are from episode #211 that aired on May 21st, am only one show behind the subbing team. The theme was for the members to come up with some new proverbs which did sound promising but very few were decent. The highlight to me was that Sarina got the most screen time, she was a joy to watch and she's been slowly inching her way up my fave Hina member's list. All you have to do is start on the first screenshot and view them to see what took place as they go in order of the action. As mentioned in the beginning this weekend's show will announce the Senbatsu lineup for the next single.

  1. Imho HinaAi is generally less entertaining than SokoSaku because it has too much focus on the MCs...in some episodes one almost gets the feeling it's a show about Audrey with the Hinatazaka members as guests/extras...😣
(Whereas in SokoSaku the MCs just help the girls stand out, without taking a lot of screentime from them in the process)

  2. You are correct about the hosts as Mr. Pink Sweater loves to be the center of attention. The hosts for 'Soko' are much more laid back and seem to care about the members much more. Haven't watched Nogi's 'Construction' for a few years but I recall those hosts also making things more about them as the years went on. What I would love to see are the ''Bingo!'' shows brought back, those were the best shows for Keya and Nogi. Hina did have two seasons but they weren't subbed so didn't view them.

    1. I totally agree, also about Nogi's MCs...and I miss those "Bingos" too! Both Hinabingo seasons are subbed on DC (not sure whether I should write the full site name...it's a very popular streaming site for Asian DRAMAs and I find it really COOL, if you get my hint 😉) BTW, Hinabingo's host, Koyabu, was such a great MC imho! I wish they had picked him rather than Audrey for the main variety, TBH. On a side note, I'm liking the formula of the new show "Hinatazaka ni Narimashō!", with different MCs in each episode...have you tried that? ☺️
