Nao Kanzaki: The ten most popular posts for 2025 and slightly more....

Previous Positions: Didn't do official posts for the first two on the list, #10 was Iori and in the ninth spot was Yuzuha. Below are the links to the all of the other positions and getting tougher each year to get more women eligible but the quality for 2025 is as high as ever.

#8, Mai Shinuchi .... #7, Miku T .... #6, Nene .... #5, Ruka Kitano

#4, Nashiko .... #3, Yui Kobayashi .... #2, Kana Nakada .... #1, Queen Akari

Not going to do a regular wrap-up post for this year's faves list, should be able to do a mini one to begin off this post very quickly. Too early for me to have any regrets, most years a few weeks or months after the list is complete always think that someone should have made the list over a different woman or a fave's position should have been a bit higher, for now don't see that anything was blatantly amiss. It was a struggle to have even seventeen women eligible and to qualify five posts were needed in 2025 versus the six post rule that had been in effect since 2019. So will have a few musing about the gals along with some stats, above are the eight who I did posts for. After this quickie look at the list is done will have the top ten most popular posts for the year and that's often a post most of you readers enjoy. Would have liked to have had one for my top photobooks of the year but there weren't nearly as many as usual though the books themselves may have been better than ever!

The top two photos above are of Miku who was #1 in two categories, she was the youngest gal to make the list and her age is three months past 25. Miku was my Queen for 2025 and had ideas about repeating until a very slow second half of the year, she was also the shortest of the gals at 152 cm. The tallest was Nene at 167 cm and she's made the list five years in a row, the last four she's been in the top six. A huge positive of mine is that my favorite women don't change that often, of course their rankings will change from year to year but not the women on the list. The oldest was this year's #1 Akari who is 34.2 in age, that's a new record and she too has been in the top six the last four years. Plus Akari did tie Nene's record for having 26 posts in a year so even though there was another dip in the amount of posts have been able to keep doing posts for my massive favorites.

Another nice surprise was the comeback of Yui who for the second time finished in the third position, she also did that in 2023 and in 2022 was my number one woman! She currently has the longest streak of making the fave's list as she's now up to six years and that ties her for the second post with her ex-Keya mate Risa. She's just below and sadly it appears she's retired from show biz and never sent a final message to her fans on why she's done so. Naturally that bums me out as when the list for my 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' was done in 2022 she was number one! The all time leader as far as making the list goes is Rika who made the list seven consecutive years from 2017 to 2023. She got married some months ago and seeing as how she hit the age of 37 in October she may never have another post here. Well, part of that reason is that I had slightly forgotten about her until now but let me try to work on at least one farewell post for her.

Guess that's enough musings about the fave's list, had also talked about some things in the individual posts. Nashiko did set a record as she's qualified for the list eight consecutive years but has only made the list in five of them, just because someone is eligible doesn't mean they automatically make the list. Will have one other list coming up in about five days, it's an easy one to do but it's a bit time consuming to figure out the stats. That list will be for who the most popular women of the year was with you readers so in a way it's your own top ten list. Like that list just five posts are needed to qualify, have an inkling on who two of the top five will be but not of the other eight women.

Those bottom two pics above are of Natsuki, she just had four posts for the year but she could be the most popular woman here but she doesn't make it easy for me to do posts for her! There are two of these 'Most Popular Posts' lists done, the first is at the end of June. For that list look at the posts I published in the first six months which received the most views, that's easy enough to explain. This list features all posts, not just those done in 2025. There's some older photobook posts which still get quite a high amount of views, for the third year in a row a post done from a prior year was the most popular with you viewers! As with all of my lists will work from the lowest up to number one, sure many know what post done this year was the most popular. Will have the stats, a link to the post plus some musing about the woman or the post, even though there was another decrease in the amount of posts done this year there hasn't been a drop in the amount of views posts get, as a matter of fact that's risen the past two years!!!! Let's get to the countdown and in a surprise only one woman who made the top ten on the fave's list had a spot on this list and that'll be the first position you'll read about.

#10.... Nene Shida, her April 12th post for her "Cantabile" book has received 1,888 views

As far as comebacks go would have to include Nene on the list but not for having more posts. It's more of a case of Nene's popularity rising to the levels it was from late 2020 to early 2023. After that the views for her posts dropped off for such a long time but her posts this year has seen such an increase in views. Did help that she had some truly steamy photos but that's actually not a new thing and steaminess is a reason why Nene is my #1 all time gravure model though my first ever number one is breathing down her neck again! Haven't figured out any of the stats yet but think Nene will be way up there as far as who the most popular woman was here for 2025. I'll predict she'll end up third on the list and who I think could be the top woman finished second on the fave's list.

#9.... Chiemi Tanaka, her "Mikakunin" book post done on August 12th has 2,217 views

Every list always have a few surprises and this year there's a trio of them though all deserved to make the list. My favorite genre of women to post about the last few months have been voice actresses but have used up my cache of books and magazine spreads, they're not an easy group to do posts for. Chiemi is a solo voice actress meaning she's with no group and is an older voice actress as she hit the age of 31 in October but that didn't bother you readers and what a terrific book this was. Let me get back to working on posts for voice actresses who are also popular with you readers, this is a slow time of the year for things which is why I do most of my yearly lists in December.

#8... Konoka Matsuda's "Furimuite" PB post was done on September 1, 2024 and had 2,345 views

This is the first of three posts done prior to 2025 that made the list. Hina doesn't have nearly as many books as Nogi or Keya but they are so immensely popular here as another Hina book will be in the third position! Plus I plan to have Suzuka's book the first post of 2026 and as it's so terrific am expecting that to be the number one most viewed post of next year! The woman in the tenth spot on this list is my favorite from this list, a close second would be Konoka and had she more posts she's be in the running to be my #1 of all time! That's how much I adore Konoka  😍 and have for at least five years but being with Hina has meant doing posts is so difficult. Did a post three weeks ago for Konoka and in it said she would be graduating by. the end of February, hate to see her leave but it's understandable. So will try to have another post in about two weeks and then after her departure, no news if Konoka will have a graduation book but I am praying for one as this was my top photobook for 2024. You viewers agree with me in that and let's keep this book on the list for a few more years!!!!

#7... Miu Shitao, her December 9, 2024 post for her "Boku Dake no Mono" had 2,505 views

The 'Nao Year' begins on December 1st, this was the only post done in the first month that made the list. You'd think having a post done early in the year would be very helpful when it comes to this list but it didn't turn out that way. There's a quartet of current AKB members who I like quite a bit, more than any other members from the past decade but it's so hard to do posts for the group these days. All four have such fabulous photobooks but each only have one and have also had such a lack of magazine spreads and other things the last year. Of the four it'd be hard to pick my top current member though it easily could be Miu and I like her down to earth looks so much. Gone are the days when so many AKB members had that 'Diva Way' about them and to me that was such a turnoff.

#6... Mizuki Yamauchi, her "Suki ni Naru Yokan" PB post done on February 1st had 2,655 views

Two AKB members made the list and kind of funny how they're back to back on the list, another member had the 13th most popular post of the year. Every year photobooks dominate this list and why not(!) as books are so large plus contain so many overly sweltering photos. But from positions eleven to twenty six posts that weren't for books were in that group so that makes my day seeing how my regular posts draw a good amount of views. Was saying above how it's become so difficult to do posts for AKB gals and to be honest not just them but most current J-Pop Idols. Fads and what fans enjoy change every few decades or generations, up until 2000 most large Idol groups weren't all that popular save for Morning Musume, these days seems the popularity level has decreased for such groups which isn't a bad thing. This position was another pleasant surprise and how I'd love to do more posts for the adorable Mizuki but did give some reasons why I haven't been able to do any for a long while....

#5... Hono Tamura, her "Tonari no Seki ni Naritai" PB post done on January 23rd had 2,935 views

That's a high amount of views for a year yet I thought the total would have been close to 5,000 views! For Hono's first book has over 13,100 views and had 1,663 for this year, wonder why this book wasn't more popular? Perhaps because I haven't done any posts for Keya this year and can't see myself doing many more in the future. As a group they're still popular but they don't any biggish stars like they once did, soon we'll probably see the second generation members fleeing and one recently did.

#4.... Yuki Yoda, her June1st post for the "Yoda" photobook has 3,077 views to date

Yuki had fallen out of my grace due to a minor scandal and hadn't done any posts for her until February after a 2 1/2 year gap. I still like Yuki quite a bit and did do six posts for her this year though most were from things I had missed from not doing posts in 2023 and 2024. This "Yoda" book was Yuki's third one while with Nogi and could it be her final one ever? I and many reading this are hoping that's not the case, as stupendous as this book was I kind of preferred her second that came out in 2020. I will confess to overlooking some women the past few months and Yuki is one of them which could also mean she hasn't been too busy or I would have noticed her activities. So a minor goal for 2026 will be to check up more on her and also many other semi-forgotten faves of mine, on a side note my top current Nogi member has her second photobook coming out soon.

#3... Hina Kawata received 3,495 views for her "Omoide no Junban" book post done on 7/3/22

While not my top Hina photobook to me it's been the biggest and best surprise of any of their books! Never realized how unbelievable Hina was and I truly have been at a loss for words when gaping at these pictures as they're so out of this world! Of course you readers also think that way as this post had almost 3,500 views in 2025 even though the post for it was done over three years ago! The total amount of views stands at 17,120 views and soon it will be the most popular of any member's posts. Like Keya can't see too many posts in the future for the group but will be doing one or perhaps two next year for Hina. She graduated a little over a month ago and now there's only a pair of second generation members left. But Hina did have a graduation book and was the first member to have a second photobook. That's another solid book and will have it next year though to be honest there was no way Hina was going to top this book. As terrific as this book is I may only rank it fourth or even fifth on my fave group books which means the others are even more out of this world!!!!

#2... Nagi Inoue, the August 16th post for the "Monologue" PB has 4,978 views to date

The title of the post is right on the money as it is a flawless book and I can't believe how close to perfect a photobook could be, plus I never imagined Nagi was hotter than the Sun! There's been two other posts for Nagi which have also been very popular but her age has held me back from doing more posts for her. Nagi doesn't turn 21 until February and expect her next post then. She is the youngest woman I post about and if things work out well for a Nogi member which hasn't happened in a while I'm hoping she can have plenty of posts in the next five years. Sure Nagi will have another book but is there anyway she could possibly top this? That's doubtful and I would say this is my second favorite Nogi book, Hinako's from 2022 would be my number one. What's even odder is that though this is such a perfect book it may only be my second favorite for the year(!), number one will be done on January 1st.

#1... Sumire Uesaka, her "Sumire no Yume" book post done on March 3, 2023 had 9,658 views

It's hard to believe how popular this book is, it is so magnificent but to have garnered so many views in 34 months is mind boggling! At this pace in a few years this may become the most popular post ever here, that total of 9,658 views for the year has to be a record!!!! In 2024 this post received 4,885 views so it's been a shame I haven't been able to do many posts for her the last two years. Sumire is a voice actress who celebrated her 34th birthday four days ago, this book was released on November 11, 2022 which was a month before hitting the age of 31. It's her last book to date and was a solid seller too, as mentioned earlier I love doing posts for voice actresses but they're a tough bunch to do them for but then again that's been the case for most genres of women this year....
