Erika Toda: Umi no Ue no Shinryoujo drama episode 7 recap

After two small cameo appearances Erika finally shows up in this drama for the whole episode, bit of a thin story but she looks more dazzling than ever, her character's name is Hikaru.
Hikaru one day visits the clinic boat, no one knows who she is or why she's there but it eventually comes out that she was once engaged to Dr. Kato! Some years before he was working in a Tokyo hospital when he met Hikaru and in a whirlwind relationship they got engaged and were on their way to meet his mother. However on a layover on their trio to Hokkaido Hikaru drops a bombshell on Kato, she's actually a man!!!! Kato panics like most men would and runs away from her, he also had had their marriage certificate with him. For the next few years she keeps hunting him down no matter where he is but never gets a chance to talk with him, the reason she's after him is to get the marriage certificate back and he didn't realize it. Also about the sudden engagement, on the date where she agreed to getting married she was also a bit drunk for the first time in her life and that was the main reason she said yes to his proposal. But a sobered up Hikaru realized she had made a mistake which is where the lie about her being a man came from, when Kato heard she said she was a 'man' he beat a path back to Tokyo and hopefully out of her life.

Eventually Hikaru did track Kato down and had him cornered on the clinic boat where he couldn't escape from her. He revealed to most of them when she wasn't around about her being a man, they quickly learned that it wasn't true but to the very end Kato never learned the truth. Hikaru explained to him the real reason she had chased him all around and that was to get back the marriage certificate, she didn't tell him that her being a man was a lie but told him that she was getting married. Well you know what went through Kato's mind when he heard that, still find it hard to fathom that he kept believing she was a man, didn't make sense why he thought that way. Hikaru's boyfriend had followed her to the boat, at one tome they were going to get married but she broke it off, she really had zero confidence in herself about anything, she was constantly apologizing for everything and if something bad happened she presumed it was her fault. Hikaru and her boyfriend left Kato to have it out between them selves, they picked the most rundown shack in the area, Kato followed them and tried to make peace between them. But as he was doing that Hikaru fell against a pillar and the shack being so rundown the ceiling collapsed upon the two men.

Wrapping this up Hikuru was able to get in touch with Nurse Mako who came out and tried to save the men, Kato was actually alright but Hikaru's boyfriend was trapped under the ceiling and was badly hurt. Eventually the other doctors from the boat came out to the shack and everyone was saved, Hikaru's boyfriend was injured but nothing too serious. Episode comes to a conclusion with Hikaru finally accepting the proposal and is going to get married, naturally Kato was thinking "two men getting married"?
For the most part that's about how the episode went, bit of a thin story, knew some of the shows would be like this which is why I've only been watching a few of the episodes, this was my 3rd one but will end up watching the next one too. This series reminds me a bit of the Unibore Deka drama, that too had a plot similar to this, that's another one I just watched half of.
Erika was quite good in this but saying she did well is nothing new, she also looked fantastic in this episode. Guess that will be it for her in this series, she did make two other small cameos, was hoping she'd have a big part in a few more episodes but doesn't look like that will happen. Next post of course has a mega amount of screenshots of a dazzling you-know-who, enjoy them as they really look fabulous.
