Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available.  Time has flown by in this drama going from the Fall of 2009 where we are now up to January 2012. So far all the 6 pilot trainees have passed every course and every other obstacle that's stood in their way but still haven't started the actual pilot's training program, will they ever, it's a two year program so they better start soon.

All the trainees are doing fairly well except of course for Haru(Maki), she does take so much longer to catch on though she always eventually does, she is the slowest of the group but is the glue which holds them together, it's one of the reasons she was chosen for the program as her trainers have realized her biggest talent is not quitting and getting others to work as a team. However quitting is one thing Haru came oh so close to doing in episode 4, she took her first plane ride ever and it was in the cockpit of a 777.! Haru really lost her confidence after that and watching the pilots at work, she felt there was no way in the world she could do control a plane like they could. It came down to the last minute but Haru was talked into staying by her two instructors and by her new best friend Chisato, who was a bit of a cold person at first but being with Haru so much has been changing her and they are slowly becoming very good friends.

That's how episode 4 played out, good episode but a bit of a step down from the first 3 but episode 5 turned the corner and to me has been the best episode to date. All six trainees have passed all their exams and other assignments, now finally it's on to the pilot school! Now we're in April 2012 and the school they will be trained at for the next year and a half is at the Univ. of North Dakota. I don't know if Japanese pilots do really train in America but at the school were many pictures of other Japanese pilots who had gone though the course there including their main instructor who accompanied them to America. The group started right off learning to fly, no classroom instruction for now and it was straight to some mini planes where the students did the actual flying with their new American instructors. All did somewhat well in the air except for you know who, everything is just so hard for her but except for that brief period in episode 4 Haru does not give up even though she really, really struggles behind the controls of the plane.

It is becoming more of a team because even though Haru was slowing down everyone as it took her so long to learn how to fly such a small plane the others have started to help her more and are really rooting for her. And root for her they did as all had to complete a solo flight, all 5 had passed and she was the last one but thanks to their support and also the support of her instructors she was able to pass her solo flight with flying colors. I don't know hardly anything about training to be a pilot but seems as though they took their first solo flights real soon, they were only there a few days it seemed. But as I just said all turned out well for the trainees, all have passed everything up until this point, the solo flights ended off this episode. Hard times may be coming up though, their instructor who came with them from Japan warned them after they all passed that the first solo flight is actually the easiest flight they'll make and it was on a very small plane, just a 3-seater.
And that brings us up to date, have to thank the subber nyababan for this drama as the subs are getting done quickly, 2 or 3 days after an episode has aired they are done which is really impressive. Halfway through this drama now, don't know how it's going to play out but if it keeps the interesting and intense pace like episode 5 was then it's going to end up being a real good series, to date would really recommend it, you won't be blown away by it but it's been a solid watch up until now. Of course being the addict I am at taking screenshots have many of Maki in the next two posts for these episodes, will be back in two weeks recapping episodes 6 & 7.
