Miori Takimoto: Umi no Ue no Shinryojo drama episode 4 recap

Have skimmed through a few of the episodes but this is the first one I've completed with subs, also just did a review of episode 6 which is two posts down, that one had Kii as the guest star. Going to be selective on which episodes I end up watching, will probably end up viewing half of them, theme of the show is a bit thin so think watching all 10 episodes would be impossible, half will be good as I won't get tired of this drama then which I think would be easy to do.

Miori guest stars as Michiru Fujii who is the daughter of the local hospital's chairman, the hospital supplies the funding for the boat clinic in this show which travels to remote islands in the Seto Sea. Michiru has come on the boat for more training but not sure what kind as she was studying to be a surgeon. That surgeon training is not going well for her as she had an incident once with a patient which almost cost them their life, luckily another doctor was present to save the patient. However since then Michiru has had a complex about treating patients, she has lost all of her confidence and perhaps that's why her father had sent her to do more training on the clinic boat.
Once on the boat she really gives off bad vibes to all, she thinks the clinic boat is a waste of money and the patients that they treat should instead be going to the mainland hospital. Needless to say her thoughts did not make her many friends on the boat except of course for Dr. Kato who has fallen for her like every other young woman he's met on the show. Easy to see why as Michiru is really one attractive woman and though she did give off a snotty attitude when she first arrived she's really not a bad person, no one else know about the incident where a patient almost died.

Michiru is going on the rounds with Kato when he visits the islands, on one trip she wanders off where she comes across a man who has injured himself while rowing. She's at a loss what to do as she has that complex about treating people, she thinks she'd end up making matters worse, luckily the injured rower wasn't too badly hurt, it was a severe chest pain but it subsided and no treatment was needed much to her relieve. The next day though Michiru was once again out wandering when the same rower fell ill again with his chest pain, Nurse Mako had been at the scene and was treating him but it was so severe a doctor was needed. Kato though was at the boat clinic in an emergency operation and couldn't go see the patient, luckily(?) Michiru was near the scene and was drafted into service, She rebelled at first saying she's made a mistake before and would probably make another one, perhaps costing the patient his life. All ends well though as Kato coaches her over the phone and she's able to perform a difficult procedure and everything ends happily and safely for everyone.
Not all ends well, really just for Dr. Kato though as I mentioned he had fallen for Michiru and he thought the two of them would be heading to Tokyo to continue in the medical field but also there moonlighting as entertainers. Michiru is so pretty that she had been in a fashion magazine and in the beginning had talked Kato into joining her in Tokyo, but her dream to go there was mainly because she had no confidence in herself in becoming a surgeon. After she saved the rower though all that plan went out the window as her confidence has returned and she's ready to continue her medical studies. Not sure if Kato was brokenhearted as he must be used to being dumped by now, another show and another rejection for Kato.
And that's a brief summary of the episode, really they're all going to be about the same which is why I'm being selective on which episodes I'm going to watch, most of them though have some really terrific guest stars but besides that point a plot like this drama has gets a bit thin after a few episodes. Miori looked absolutely stunning in this show, she really looks like that all the time now and can't wait for her next drama to start, check the next post for a mega amount of screenshots of her from this episode.
