Sayumi Michishige: Her fabled "Blue Rose" photobook.... a repost, one of five(?) books....
A couple of days ago talked about a pair of projects I had started last Summer when things were also slowish for my bigger faves. Both are still ongoing but had put them on hold for a while as things were back to semi normal for a long stretch but another slowish period has begun so wonder if it's normal for this time of the year to see a decrease in my favorite's activities? One of those projects was to clean up some older photobook posts, probably did 80% of the books I wanted to do. The project had two parts, one was to combine the posts as before 2018 often would cut down a book into two posts when only one was needed. That was the case with this book as it only has 65 photos so there was no need to have two posts, these days a book has to have 140+ pics before I think about having two posts for it. Often the second post wouldn't draw as many views as the first and for a while because this blog was new had been trying to up the amount of posts quickly.
Another reason for a repost is to clean up some pictures, at times have gotten a better version of a photobook. Or else my cropping wasn't so good, that wasn't the case for this book but it will be for Sayumi's next book. As the title says this could be the first of five posts for her older books, four are over a decade old! One other reason for these reposts could be the best of all of the reasons. Which is that many of my old time fave gals such as Sayumi have been forgotten about so it's nice to revisit some of those older women on occasion and her posts have always been popular here yet bet many of you have forgotten about her. Plus I bet many newcomers to the world of J-Pop don't know much about Idols before 2015 so it could be an introduction for you, though not my top group the singles from Morning Musume during the years of 1998-2002 could be impossible to beat!
To me the most shocking bit of info is that next month Sayumi will be hitting the age of 36!!!! It's so hard to believe that she's somehow gotten to be that age but of course that's not too old. Despite being that age Sayumi has never gotten married and time is running out if she wants to start a family. She's now been gone from Morning Musume since the Autumn of 2014 and for a while had held the record for being in the group the longest, the one who now holds the record will be graduating in a month. In future Sayumi posts will have more bio info such as things she's done since leaving MM but after her departure had taken close to three years off. The last time I mentioned Sayumi's name was in a post seven months ago for Miyuki 😍, the pair had done a modeling session together for the Bijin Hyakka magazine and she's a massive fave who sadly has also become way too quiet....
While with Morning Musume Sayumi released eleven photobooks, this is her tenth that came out on October 27, 2013 and she does have one after her graduation that was released in 2018 which has been posted. Hello Project books may not be as steamy as the ones from the '46/48' groups but they're just as good if not better, wish current Idols would release a yearly book such as Sayumi did for so long and so didn't many other H!P gals. The photo shoots for her next to last book with MM took place in Nagano and Niigata, the plan had been to travel to Okinawa but a typhoon hit the area at the same time! I've always thought Sayumi is such an attractive woman but adding a few pounds may have helped but how could one complain about her at all? This is not a large book as it just contains 65 photos and back then books weren't nearly as large as they are these days. One huge advantage Hello Project groups have other more popular ones such as Nogi, AKB, SKE, etc. is that they have DVD's from a book's photo shoot. After the pics is a segment from this book's DVD which lasts for over sixteen minutes and how about the way Sayumi looked(!), she was 23 going on 24 in age. Will space these reposts out, have four more to go so perhaps two more for June and the next pair in July.
