Nao Kanzaki: A quickie look at this year's faves list.... sigh, or lack of one(?).... or maybe not!!!!

Still in that state of Blahness which I guess it isn't a real word, let's make it one! However may be back to a semi-normal state once this post is done for I began it on November 5th and will slowly add to it over the next 2-3 days, will publish this on a day where there's not much else to post(the 7th). What this 'quickie look' does is take a glance at how my favorites are doing to this point of the year as the annual list of my top women for a year begins right after December 1st but will it this year? Will discuss that more as we go along and posts like these where I do a lot of musing helps me out tremendously as it made me figure out who to date is eligible for the list, what positions they may end up in, who needs one more post to qualify, etc. and overall these posts get my tiny mind into gear. Have idea of what I was going to say before beginning this post and whatever is said will come off the top of my head so hope I don't sound too scatterbrained.

Right above is one of my all time favorite J-Pop Idols and the reason she began off the post is that if she has any fans left will be doing a repost of her second photobook in a day or two, just need to do a bit more editing. Don't mention Nana Yamada 😍 too often these days but up up until 2016 she was my top NMB member and was also close to being my #1 Idol but things didn't remain that way. Will do a bit more musing about Nana in that upcoming post and who knows, maybe I'll do that before finishing this post! I would still place Nana in my top ten or perhaps even top five for hottest Idols, still have a huge photo folder of her plus often view her older gravure videos which I can never get tired of but wish there were more as there's been zero gravure photos or videos of Nana for seven years....

As far as this year's list go it'll be the hardest one that I've ever had to create. This is year #11 for my top women, four times in the past it was for a top ten, three times for my top twenty, twice the list had sixteen and once a dozen women. To be eligible is quite easy, just six posts in a year are needed but the majority of what they. contain should be for the current year. For instance Sayuri Date will be eligible with her next post but four of her posts mainly featured books from 2023/24 so how can I include someone such as her to be on a list of 2025 faves? I really can't and that scenario has happened a few other times in the past. The years of 2020/21 were the best as far as how many eligible women there were, both years 32 had six or more posts so was able to include twenty women on the list. Then it dropped to 26 and then 24 for the next two years which was still a high amount but last year saw a huge drop to seventeen who were eligible. That meant the high mark of 32 was almost halved and have talked often about why that's happened and there isn't much I can do about that.

Some long time faves have fallen by the wayside such as Kyoko above who made the list four years in a row and twice finished in the top five. She hasn't had a post since leaving Hina back in the Spring of 2024 but there is an outside chance she may have one this month. But that's also a problem of mine as why does it take so much more time and effort these days to create so many posts. Which leads me into the semi problem for this year's list as to date only eleven women have hit the six post mark to be eligible! So have some deciding to do and what I want to remind you readers of again is that comments are always welcome. You're the ones who read these posts so if you any any suggestions on what may work out best for you and me leave a comment which I do read daily.

Sigh, yet another fave above who also didn't reach six posts and wonder if having a list for those who didn't make the cut would be better?!!!! So here's some options that I will mull over for the next few weeks, you'll know what my decision will when the first post of the countdown is done. One option is to have a list of eight women for the list and then to work down as usual from the eighth to first positions. The other possibility is having just two posts, the first would be for spots eight to five and then a post for the fourth to first positions. But one scenario that popped into my head recently was making a change on who could be eligible and as time goes on don't changes need to be made to almost everything in life?

Whew, how I miss doing posts for such massive faves such as Hinako who finished in the third post back in 2022 and had my top photobook of the year. So third possibility for the list is to make a change on who can qualify, for seven years it's been having six posts in a year which did work out well for a long time. But those days are now gone forever so was thinking should the criteria now be five posts in a year to be eligible for the fave's list? Six posts in a year is one post every 8 1/2 weeks, five posts is one every 10.4 weeks so that's not much of a difference. But there is a huge difference in how many women would qualify for this year's list as it would increase from eleven to sixteen women plus two others have have four posts so there is a chance eighteen could qualify! As I was writing that out it made so much sense to change it the criteria to five posts and as I've often said when I jot down my thoughts in these kinds of posts I answer my own questions. So that's now my decision, five posts it now is to qualify for the list and knowing there's now at least sixteen eligible has made my gloominess about doing the list vanish and as mentioned any suggestions are always welcome.

Changing who can be eligible to five posts sadly doesn't help Haruka out, she's made my top ten three times but this now makes it three years in a row without being eligible. So just need to think about the format(s) such as should the list include ten or a dozen women? Plus should I do an individual post for the positions or say four posts of three spots(?), a lot depends on how many new things I could include in solo posts. You'll find out what my decisions are right after December 1st so still have three weeks to work on things, because of wanting to save new photos and such for their fave's list posts may not do as many posts this month for those who will be on the list. Will work on trying to have a post for those who only need one more to qualify and perhaps more than two women are only a post short.

The record for most appearances on the list is shared by two women who have each made it seven times but may never again be eligible! Above is Rika who made the list every year from 2017 to 2023, five times she was in the top six. But the posts became so much more difficult to do for her after 2022 and that makes sense as she's now 37 in age, she did get married a few months back and she was so close to reaching that milestone of a hundred posts! Sharing the record of seven years on the list is Risa, she never topped a yearly list but on the 2022 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list she had the number one position! But she won't repeat when the next list is done ten months from now and it appears she's retired from show biz, that truly bums me out to no end. In January of this year Risa ceased all of her activities and never did make an official announcement of her retiring, why wouldn't she? Risa was in the top eight for all seven years she made the list with a high of second in 2019. Of course there's no woman who I miss doing posts for more than Risa and need to take a break now for my tears may short circuit the keyboard....

Have made my return and did the tears flow endlessly! It's now November 7th, did half of the above on the fifth and the rest the day after, will now finish off what wasn't too much of a quickie look! So gave the details of what to expect for this year's list and also briefly talked about those who won't be making the cut after so many years of doing so. For the final five or so women will discuss who will be making the top ten or who has a good chance to. The two women right above share the record of making the fave's list seven times, that record will hold for at least one more year. But there will be a new record set this year as it's the eighth time Nashiko has had six or more posts. However she's just made the final cut four times but this year will easily make the top ten, she has her 30th birthday tomorrow so will have a post for her within the next 2-3 days. The last two years the reason why Nashiko didn't make the list is because her posts came so sporadically, there could be four posts in two months then zero the next three but this year they've come at a much consistent rate.

Seven times in the list is the record but as said neither will make it this year. So the current leader for most times making my yearly fave's list will become Yui 😍 as this will make six consecutive years, she was #1 in 2022 and has been in the top five two other times. Most of 2024 was way too quiet for Yui but she still finished in the sixth position, this has been a much better year and can see her squeezing into the top five once again. She'll be the only member from Hina or Keya to make the list.... hmmmm, wait a second on that. Now that five posts is how many are needed to qualify for the list it means Miku is eligible but not sure if she's done enough to make the top ten....

With seventeen posts Nene will have the second most of any women this year but only two have come since May 9th!!!! That is hard to believe as no one has had more posts than her since December 2020 and she's never had such a quiet spell like this before. So while she'll make the list for the fifth time this slow stretch definitely hurt her ranking, Nene was in the top six the three previous years but unless something unexpected takes place she'll probably end up around the eighth position.

Two more gals to chat about with the first being Yuzaha who has a real chance of becoming my #1 hottest/alluring/sexiest woman of all time! She's currently at four posts but have been working on the fifth that will make her eligible for this year's list. She did make the cut back in 2023 and was the highest newbie on that year's list, there are plenty of women here who I gush about but soon Yuzuha may top them all!!!!

Last up for this post will be my number one gal of the year and that's been known for a few months now. It'll mark the second time Akari has been my Queen for the year, she was so back in 2023 but she was also in the second spot for the years 2018 and 2024 which means she's been around for a while. Akari is about to hit that rare milestone of a hundred posts, while she's currently my #1 woman of all time she's still not all that popular with you viewers though that level I think has slowly been rising. Some years I have done a second preliminary post for the fave's list but don't think one will be needed this year.
