Here's yet another one of my patented 'Spur of the moment' posts, this makes it three in ten days which has to be a record for me. It's nice that I can whip something up quickly and that's the advantage of having such a massive folder of photos, it would take hours to count how many pictures there are! But there is a slight negative to this and many others in this vein as it means I didn't have a lot of time to work on it but these are set aside for a rainy day. Or a day when something didn't pan out and that's what happened today. Began working on a post for someone else and I was really looking forward to doing that post which was one you viewers would enjoyed. Alas, the best laid plans did go astray again and didn't want to go two days without a post so was there anyone I could turn to?
Yes there was and glad it was
Yuki who has once again become a huge fave of mine, she had gone a few years without any posts which was entirely my fault and it was sadly a case of
out of sight, out of mind with her. But on the bright side it means there's plenty of things from the past 3-4 years to post about plus many other ancient things. Up until 2020 not many J-Pop Idols had as many posts as
Yuki did but usually back in the 2010's posts had fifty photos at the max and these days they're twice as large which means you will be seeing many older photos in these posts but ones that hadn't been seen here before. Since leaving AKB about fifteen months ago
Yuki has remained busy but of course not at the level she was at a decade ago, she was one hard working woman years back which was the reason for her being the top paid Idol for the years 2017 and 2018.
What I miss is
Yuki acting and have seen her in many things. Of course one was the old AKB series 'Majisuka Gakuen' and those were such fun shows, sadly there aren't nearly as many of those Idol dramas as there once was and wonder why? In 2018
Yuki had the lead role in the mini series "Kono Koi wa Tsumi na no kai?" where she played a nerdy Shogi master. I did recap the short series which was kind of lame yet it was such an enjoyable show. Another series
Yuki had the lead role in was "Mielino Kashiwagi" from 2013 and that was such an odd drama. Yet I've never completed the show for I can't find decent subs for it but do know they're out there. Had forgotten about it until recently so let me hunt for it again, if I'm successful that may be the next series to be recapped.
When you think about that drama it aired over a dozen years ago,
Yuki was just shy of being 22 in age back then and where has the time gone? Being a quickie post means I didn't have time to work on other things besides the magazine spreads but bet there will be at least sixty to seventy new photos for today and by
new mean that hadn't been posted before. Such as these older
Yuki AKB cards, the first five are from their second album "Sekai no Chuushin" which was released exactly eleven years ago! The next few cards are for the spinoff group
French Kiss who were popular and I liked the other two gals quite a bit too. And it being Summer have some
Yuki swimming suit cards though I enjoy gaping at those all year round!
Yuki also had a minor musical solo career with AKB, she had some singles and also put on a few solo concerts. On August 2nd she performed her first show since graduating which was at this year's
Tokyo Idol Festival and that has grown so large in the last decade as hundreds of groups must perform. At one time popular groups such as AKB and Nogi didn't appear but they have the last few years. At the concert which was in Odaiba
Yuki performed on the Hot Stage, she only did seven songs but most groups also have short sets as there's so many performers. I don't know if there was a video of her performance but will search for one to put at the bottom of the post(
it was a success!). A few of the tunes were her solo ones plus of course a few from AKB,
Yuki did the 2009 single "Iiwake Maybe" and I love that song so much and hope to find her version of the tune(did!).
On to the
Young Jump magazine spreads and came up with the idea for the series after posting that huge photobook of her spreads. An entire spread didn't make it to the book, maybe four out of ten pages from an issue did yet it was still a massive book at 265 pages!
Yuki's newer spreads from the magazine had never been posted here before so am working backwards from this year to late 2020 for all of the spreads I missed. Will usually have four in a post plus will go back with her older spreads too as if you're like me you've forgotten about many of them or sure many of you viewers have never seen them before. Had four spreads in that first post, will have the same amount for today which will bring us up to eight, this first set is from their June 15, 2023 issue.
Yuki was often the cover girl for
Young Jump, don't know how many times that happened but sure she holds their record for most covers. She had the honor above and also from this sizzling set that's from their June 16, 2022 edition. That means a year between appearances and
Yuki did slow down on her activities in 2021/22 due to having such health issues. This is one oki-doki spread and perhaps my fave of today's quartet, bet most had forgotten
Yuki was also with NMB for a while and was on two of their singles back in 2014/15. That did happen often until 2018 of members being with other '48' groups for a while and most AKB singles would have more members from SKE or NMB than from AKB!
Two more
Young Jump spreads to go, of course
Yuki is the cover girl for both and this set is from their January 1, 2021 issue.
Final
Yuki spread isn't from a dated issue but a special
Young Jump edition to end off 2021 and who else is there better to end or begin a year with?! In July 2021
Yuki released her third regular photobook so in the next post for the series will have a pair of spreads promoting it. Will have that book soon plus some other mag spreads from the last few years that had been missed so if you're a fan of
Yuki there will be no shortage of her posts for the next few months. Did find one video that had
Yuki's performance at the August 2nd
Tokyo Idol Festival, it's after this way too small spread. The video is 28 minutes long and
Yuki looks so darn good at the age of 34, will check back a few times to see if the video is still on YT. If not will replace it with a video from one of these four spreads.
EDIT: You can't embed the video so here's the link to it and it is one fun video:
