Most drama recaps don't garner that many views or at least compared to posts for Idols and such. But viewers have always liked these Tokusatsu shows that I've posted about though there haven't been enough of them. First two recaps drew the most views of any I've done this year and only did them ten days ago. So what I'll be doing is four of these posts in a row which will make it so much easier to follow the story, the intro at the top should help too. Ten shows have aired so after these four posts won't be too far behind, not sure I can recap all fifty episodes though.
Top screenshot is of Aruto Hiden who is the new president of Hiden Technology after his grandfather died in episode one. He's only 22 years old but is gung-ho about the company and especially now about HumaGears. That's the main production of the company, they're A.I.'s who look just like humans and were created to make the lives of humans easier and more enjoyable. However there's a secret terrorist organization named MetsubouJinrai.net who have the ability to take over a HumaGear and make it evil, the two that head the group are in the second screenshot.
This episode revolved around the HumaGear Nigiro who had been created to be a sushi chef. The owner of the respected True Heart Sushi shop would like to retire but has no person to leave it to. Nigiro is a very talented chef but according to the owner doesn't have that human touch plus he just doesn't like HumaGears. It's a new style of HumaGear so it getting hired is very important to the Hiden's profit line and Aruto will make sure everything works out perfectly and he gets hired.
Aruto worked hard with Nigiro to make him more of a human chef and as you can see above was successful but there's soon to be a major problem. That has to do with the evil MetsubouJinrai.net group who knew what Aruto was doing and their hacker Jin transformed Nigiro into a Magia, they're what rogue HumaGears are called. It's a shame that happened as the owner was so pleased with his possible successor but once a HumaGear is corrupted there's no saving them. He hated to do it but Aruto needed to get into action to defeat the now evil Nigiro, when Aruto gets into action it means he turns into the hero Kamen Rider Zero-One.
Nigiro too transformed into a more powerful monster but there's really no defeating a Kamen Rider with all of their gadgets. Plus it's almost impossible to defeat them when there's now three Riders! Of course Aruto is a Rider, in the last episode the A.I.M.S. agent Fuwa was able to transform into one. He had the device to to it but it had been locked by his immediate superior Yua until Fuwa literally broke the device in two to gain access to the powers, that's the female Yua just above.
But to my surprise Yua too can become a Kamen Rider! Her alter ego goes by the name of Valkyrie and more on her after the next batch of pics. With three Kamen Riders against the now rogue Nigiro there was zero chance of him and his inept legion of Trilobites of defeating the trio which is what took place. Once again humanity was saved but with each episode the powers of the Magias created by Jin are becoming much stronger as it now takes three Riders to defeat a rogue HumaGear.
But what then became of Nigiro? Once a HumaGear has become hacked by Jin of MetsubouJinrai there's no chance of curing them and they need to be destroyed. That's a shame as the owner of True Heart Sushi had grown fond of Nigiro and had finally been able to trust a HunaGear. Aruto is a rash young kid but does have quite a large heart. He's been able to have Hiden Technology create a HumaGear very similar to Nigiro and that new one is now being trained by the owner to become a sushi chef. As will be the case for almost all of the shows there was a happy ending but that's not the end of this recap.
An episode is 23 1/2 minutes long but once you subtract the time for the opening credits and the ending preview a show is more along the lines of being 22 minutes in length. What that mainly means is recaps should be twice as short as regular dramas which was the case for this show and hopefully will be for future posts. First two were a bit longer as there was no many things to let you know about. Most shows concentrate on one storyline, for this of course it was the HumaGear sushi chef. So when a recap is a bit short will discuss a few other things that took place and delve more into some of the characters.
The two A.I.M.S. agents get a lot of screen time and are you see them in screenshots so often but haven't mentioned them enough in the recaps. It's a military squad set up to destroy rogue HumaGears, the team seems to consist of five members though we only ever see two of them. Yua is the leader and her official title is of being a Technical Advisor but she's also the leader when the squad is on the attack. As mentioned above in this episode Yua revealed she also is a Kamen Rider who goes by the name of Valkyrie and like all Riders has so many different powers.
Her cohort is the hothead Fuwa who often doesn't listen to Yua's orders. To him the reason for so many HumaGears becoming Magias is because of Hiden Technology and he blames them for the tragedy at Daybreak Town. Will get into Daybreak Town more in one of the next two posts. Fuwa had a Kamen Rider Progise Key device which had been locked by Yua but he was able to open it by brute strength in the previous show. With that gadget Fuwa can transform into the Kame Rider Vulcan, though he's supposed to fight Magias he's come close to attacking the hero Kamen Rider Zero One. He wears a blue suit while Yua as Valkyrie is in the orange costume.
Hope adding a segment like the above makes things easier to understand as so much is crammed into a 22 minute show. Will try to keep this new style going for as long as necessary but only for this series as it wouldn't work as well for other dramas. This is the first of four consecutive recaps that will cover episodes three through six, of course it means the next three posts are recaps.
