Keyakizaka46: "Zankoku na Kankyakutachi" drama episode eight recap

Start Date: May 17, 2017 on NTV, airs Thursdays at 1:00 am for ten episodes

Through every episode the only characters have been the 21 Keya members in the show. All will probably have an important moment at least once in this ten episode drama so will list all of the members who are starring in the series. These screenshots list all of the characters along with their student number, these are from the final credits while Keya's tune "Eccentric" was playing.

Thought that may make it easier for you to keep track off, can always change it in future posts such as have all 21 names written in order and may do something special at the show's conclusion.
A new team did the subs for the final three episodes, few errors but that's all right though wish they didn't have that annoying logo in the top left.
Of all eight episodes this may have been the worst, it's wasn't a bad watch but so little happened. As a matter of fact even the viewers watching at home via their computers were growing a bit impatient at the the girls doing nothing. One reason for the slowness was a long flashback with #14 Miko(Neru) and #17 Yuzuki(Yurina).
They've been close friends for a very long time and were reminiscing about the old days. When they first got to high school they drifted apart for a while but soon were back to being best of pals. We already knew about their past so may have been better to learn about some different students.

Tensions are running a bit high as they've been locked up for over two days now. Above #11 Rin(Yuuka) snapped and tried to break the camera watching them. That would be a huge mistake though as for now the only way for the girls to escape the pool and perhaps the school is to get likes from the viewing audience.
The students right now are just so beat, they haven't eaten or slept for a very long time and seems as though they want to give up. The audience is growing quite restless too as they're making many comments which are telling the girls to snap out of and get into action. Aren't too many activities to do around a pool, guess they couldn't do it on a show like this one but why didn't they go swimming or do some water activity?
#12 Misora(Miyu) doesn't come up with an idea but instead she just starts dancing manically. One by one the other nine girls join in, think it was the dance to "Futari Saison" and to be honest didn't think it was anything special. Thought the 'Human Ring Toss' idea was so much better but the audience enjoyed their dancing as all ten received the 30,000 likes they need to leave the pool.

Instead of looking for their classmates who went to the art room the students head to the gym where their teacher Hatada had been locked in a glass box. However at the end of the previous episode we saw him walk away from it, he could be one of the people behind this sickish game. The gals arrive at the gym and naturally don't find their teacher there.
From the beginning Miko has had her suspicions about Hatada and it appears she was right. Where he is now is unknown but the girls are starting to slowly freak out. As strange as it sounds we're almost at the end of this episode as it was one that truly dragged, especially in the first five minutes.

Deceived is an apt word but for now the girls have no clue what their next plan of action will be. That may not matter as someone has noticed that now Miko has disappeared, is she sharing the same unknown fate as the other three missing students?
No is the answer as Yuzuki rushed back to the pool and discovers Miko's body floating in the pool. She quickly jumps in but it wasn't needed as Miko was 100% alive, think she was doing a test to see if Yuzuki still had string feelings for her and the answer was definitely yes. The show ended with the two of them embracing in the pool, can't believe how few happenings there were in this episode.

Seeing as how very few things took place in this episode let's hope the last two are chock full of them. We still have no idea what's going on with the eight students who went to the art room, bet the next show will be devoted to them or at least it should be.
Been watching so many dramas again lately it's hard to squeeze all of them in. Just got "Million Yen Women", really looking forward to viewing that and will be doing some recaps for that series. Should be back this week with the last two recaps for this drama, could be tomorrow or then again it could be Thursday but will try to finish it up this week.

  1. There's about 1 thing you learn in this episode and it's...Neru is the biggest cockblocker. Felt sorry for the man. So confused with this drama that i'm just gonna take it all in and not question it anymore...maybe. The Yuzuki/Miko pool shot tho...FFX? Matsui Rena is in Million Yen Women ay. The dance was 'Katarunara Mirai wo' btw

  2. Most of their dances appear to be the same, move around in hyper drive and call it a dance. Did watch the last two episodes but didn't feel like posting about them yet. Most people seem to be confused about the ending and have to admit I am to an extent. There's about five scenarios to explain what happened and each could be wrong.

  3. Just finished watching it too. I'm also confused, I did have an explanation in mind but it just ends up not making sense haha

  4. Will post both recaps later, did write up episode nine but unsure how to explain the final show. The ending did remind me a bit of the "Shibuya 15" series and how it was set in a virtual world, that's one scenario to explain what happened.
