For the last 3-4 years Mayu has definitely been the busiest actress around. However there's still not enough posts for her as many of her activities aren't things that you can post about her. For instance she has at least one radio show and also appears on too many variety shows to count. The next two weeks we may be hearing more from Mayu as she has the lead female role in the drama "Uchi no otto wa Shigoto ga Dekinai" which translates over to My Husband Cannot Work.
The series will be starting on July 8th and it'll be airing on NTV. Was just at their site to view a promo video for it and to post it here, sadly because my residence isn't in Japan I can't view it. But it does look like a semi-serious, quirky show and those dramas are what suits Mayu the best. Would think there would be an event for it in the next week or so, will give more info about it then. Here are a few promo pics for the series.
Think I'll be checking that drama out, the Summer season looks a bit stronger than the last few seasons plus Mayu to me is the best young actress around. She also has the lead role in a film coming out this Autumn titled "Katte ni Furuetero", looks like another fine quirky role for her but as of now there's very little info about the movie yet.
As you may know Mayu could be the world's biggest Morning Musume fan, perhaps if I did more posts for them she'd make an occasional visit here? She has appeared with them in concert before, maybe if her singing voice was a tad better she'd be a member of the group instead of being an actress!
Mayu has been a long term model for FurryRate which is a Japanese clothing company. Think it's the only clothing line she promotes and here are a few pics from their Spring collection.
Mayu looks good in mag spreads but the problem is she doesn't appear in enough of them. As far as I know she's never done a gravure spread which could be a reason for the lack of mag appearances. That's good for her though as Mayu's conservative style to me is such a breath of fresh air compared to so many of the Idols I post about. Sadly this is jsut a two page spread from the July issue of With.
Slightly bigger set here from the Summer edition of Aera Style.
On June 27th Mayu was at a press conference for the "Cars/Crossroad" film which has the title of "Cars 3" in America. Mayu may not have a superb singing voice but her acting one is certainly in demand as this is the fourth film she's dubbed, in the movie she does the voice over for the heroine Cruise Ramirez. The movie officially opens in Japan on July 15th, hopefully there will be a premiere for it. Plenty of better than stupendous pics here from today's event, following that is a video of it.
