Sayaka released her first solo album "Rainbow" on October 26th, have more on it at the bottom of the post. It did well in it's first week out so wonder if the word 'graduation' has seeped into her mind. Sayaka is 23 now and has been a member of NMB for over six years now so wouldn't be too much of a surprise if she doesn't make it to a seventh year.
Most of these mag spreads are promoting the new album, not nearly as jaw-dropping as her older ones though they all look A-OK. First set is from the November 16th issue of Weekly Shonen.
From the Autumn issue of Acoustic Guitar though her music is a bit rockin'.
One more Sayaka spread promoting the new album which is from the December issue of BPass.
Pics here are from a October 26th interview for the DeView website.
"Rainbow" sold 50,000+ copies in it's first week out to rank third on the Oricon chart, have no idea if that total was above or below expectations. Sayaka is also doing a mini tour this month to promote it and will be holding five concerts, wonder if she's going to do some rocking versions of NMB tunes? She should as most of them need a jolt of energy and these are some pics from the album.
Besides the mini tour there's been many TV appearances to promote the album, have some screenshots here from last week's Love Music show. No video for that appearance but do have one from Monday's TBS 'Halloween Special' where Sayaka performed "Yukikoi" aka Snow Love from the album. That may be the single from the album as she's done it on almost all of the music shows, usually she rocks out a bit more as that song is more of a ballad.
