Boku no Imoto drama, synopsis and review

Boku no Imoto aka My Younger Sister was a Masami drama that aired in 2009, here's a quickie synopsis from d-addicts:
Egami Mei is a genius surgeon, but is somehow still lacking. On the other hand, his younger sister Satsuki is poor at studying, but she has a good nature and a strength for living. "Boku no Imouto" is a human drama about these two siblings whose parents died while they were still children. Because of their different values, they are always arguing, such as when the brother finds out that his sister is having an affair with a married man. However, the siblings have also developed a strong bond that keeps them together despite their constant conflicts. But a huge and unexpected incident occurs, which threatens to shake their relationship.

That 'unexpected incident' was the death of Satoko Kirihara who fell off the roof of a building and her death was the big storyline to this drama.... did she fall by accident? Was she pushed? If so by who? Was it suicide? For most of the drama the answers to these questions were what all the main cahracters were after but all of them could have been a part of it, this is what makes this drama a good mystery or who done it?

As I've mentioned before don't like to give away too much as far as the plot and storylines of a drama go, really need to see them and figure them out for yourselves, so much more enjoyable that way but here's a quickie recap of what transpired in the drama.
Satoko Kirihara(Tomosaka) had fallen to her death from a rooftop and there were many suspects in her death. Could have been Saya(Nagasawa) who it eventually came out was the last person to see her alive or so others think, also her brother Mei(Odagiri) may have been involved because he was on the rooftop with Satako just prior to Saya being there. Another suspect was her boyfriend Kenji(Chihara) with whom she had a rocky relationship with but also besides these suspects could she have jumped to her death or fallen off the roof by accident?

Kenji thinks that one of the siblings ended up pushing her off the roof and attempted to make their lifes miserable into forcing them to confess, almost to the point where their lifes were in danger. For as bad as some of his actions were though one couldn't help feel for Kenji though, he really was an innocent in Satoko's death and just couldn't cope with it the right way. Saya do also felt sorry for him, the two of them ended up getting quite close but Saya, while not a bad person, seemed to always have an ulterior motive when she did things, was this the reason for so getting close to him? Yes, quite a few minor subplots and twists in this drama, one you're going to have to see if you want all the answers to these many questions, though will add by episode 9 of the 11 episodes Satoko's death was solved, perhaps not a satisfying conclusion but it worked well enough. The last 2 episodes had another small storyline thrown in dealing more with Kenji which worked out well for him thanks now to his new allies though not exactly friends, Saya and Mei.

Sorry if you were looking for more details but try to just give a rough outline in my mini-reviews, best way is to watch yourselves, just try to let you know a bit of what to expect and whether it's one worth watching or not. This drama gets a big recommendation from me, think it's been Masami's best drama and role to date, plus Odagiri turns in his usual solid performance though a bit of a subdued one. Interesting storylines, good acting, plenty of twists during this drama makes it one you'll really end up enjoying if you watch it, would give it a final rating of a 9/10, highly recommended. Check the next post for many, many screenshots of Masami from this drama, she looked great as usual in it!
