Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Yui Kobayashi... Miku Tanaka... Nagi Inoue....Maria Makino.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

C-ute: More newish things....

Been trying to stretch these C-ute posts out, so far it's worked out well but starting to come to the end of 2017 happenings that haven't been posted about. Was just looking at the date and it's now been two months since the group's final concert, the world of J-Pop hasn't been the same since then.
Above are the covers of two DVD's coming out next month for their shows in Mexico and Paris which took place in April. Can't believe they didn't make the trip up a bit north to America as C-ute never performed a show here. Also next month their second final photobook "Brilliant" will be coming out, say second because in May a PB was released which was supposed to be their final one. The video at the top is a short promo one for the book.

Sure after their visit the 'Arc de Triomphe' has been renamed to 'Arc de Cute'!

The gals have kept busy since they disbanded except for Mai who had plans to go to America to study English and perhaps something else. Airi still has her 'Airi's Potion' radio show and does modeling for Ray but she's been kind of quiet lately.
Maimi and Saki still do a variety show together titled "Furusato no Yume" and have only seen one show even though it's been airing since January. Will watch a few more shows to post about them but none are subbed in English, also have a video of the pair on a fan club tour which I need to view.  Chisato is the first member to release a solo single and think it came out this week. Always have liked her but still haven't done a solo post for her and will work on one with info on the new single. She looks quite good in her solo pic and so don't the other members from what may have been their final spread from volume 38 of UTB+.

That final pic was a promo one for the upcoming photobook. A C-ute post would not be complete without H!P cards so here they are and do have one more small batch of them left.

In case you need some desktop calendars here are a few for August and September.

They took some work but think the posts I enjoyed doing the most were for the 'C-ute singles series'. Just went back to mid 2011 as before that the members were a bit young though now they're all between 21 to 25. Going back to that year meant that their 2010 single "Dance de Bakoon" has never been talked about.
In concert that's the most popular tune they perform as it's so upbeat and fun. Kind of amazed that it's C-ute's lowest ranking single as it only reached #8 on the charts but they weren't nearly as popular as they became. Here are two of the covers for the single and of course have a live video of the song from 2016 after them, if you've never heard the tune then I highly, highly recommend viewing it.

C-ute: Final concert pics #1....

Two blog pics the gals took after the performance, actually could have devoted this whole post for them as there's so many. Not going to draw this out as I haven't watched this concert yet but plan on watching about half of it this weekend, did skim through it and it's amazing. Need to stretch it out a bit as this is sadly the last time we'll ever see the fivesome together or at least in concert.

That's Tsunku in the above pic, he was the founder of C-ute back in 2005. He wrote almost all their singles up until 2015, he had some health problems so he only wrote one song for them the last two years. You can really notice the difference as his songs were just so terrific as he seemed to know what the members could sing and dance to the best.

There were many breaks during the show as there was some reminiscing that naturally took place. Above is the group with Yuko Nakazawa who was the first Hello Project leader. Next to her is Sayumi who was the leader before Maimi who held the position until late 2016. Now the new H!P leader is Ayaka and she's on the far right.
As mentioned above will be watching at least half of the final concert this weekend. It's an extremely long show at 207 minutes, don't want to get burnt out on them. C-ute sang 35 tunes in all but they have so many classics they had to leave too many out. Some of my all time faves are "Midnight Temptation, Middle Management, The Future and Love Take it All", don't think the group did any of those songs as I'm looking at the set list.
I'll get over it though as I do have over ten DVD's of them in concert, they usually performed those above songs in concert. After I've viewed the concert and wiped the tears away will do a couple posts with many screenshots, no sense giving a review as we all know what a classic show it was. Do have plenty of pics from the show here as though C-ute isn't too popular at this site there are some fans. Have to admit that as hard as I worked getting more C-ute fans here it never worked out that well which is a shame, highly recommend viewing their 'singles series' posts which are very informative.
