Kind of disappointed, not in Kii but how so many Japanese movies these days don't get subbed. Don't know the reason why, I have probably close to 1,400 DVDs from Japan that are either dramas or movies and about 98% of them are subbed but these days so many releases aren't that way, it's actually getting harder to find new Japanese films compared to a few years ago. Plus also there's many fewer people doing subs for dramas and films that haven't been released in the U.S. Bring that up because I have 4(!) Kii films from 2013 and 2014 and zero of them have been subbed which is kind of surprising, none of them were big hits but they're all very good with many stars besides her in them, actually one of her films from 2013 has been subbed and that's "Ken and Mary: The Asian Truck Express". The four Kii films that I have that don't have subs are:
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
Yokohama Monogatari
Joukyou Monogatari
Bakushin: Nagasaki no Sora
Would like to watch them and give some reviews about them here, been holding out on watching the films completely instead of skimming through them as I'm one who really needs subs to understand and enjoy a film. Guess that's my monthly rant, don't know if others have films they'd really like to watch too but really can't because of the lack of subs.
On to some good things though and talking about Kii is always a good thing, been a while since I've posted about her here. On Monday the 29th she'll be starting as a co-host on the Zip! show which airs weekdays at 5:50 pm on NTV, think it may only be a 10 minute show but I'm not sure so correct me if that's wrong. On the 27th she was at a promo event for the show with her co-host Masuichi which is where these pics are from.
Also she'll be appearing in a Korean movie called "The Tenor Lirico Spinto", don't know all the details but think he was a Korean opera singer who married a Japanese woman. Will have more info on the film probably next week as it's scheduled to be screened at the Busan Film Festival which starts next week so will try to find out more details about what it's about. This week Kii attended a special screening of it in Tokyo, it's scheduled to open in Japan on October 11th, here's some ultra kawaii pics of her at the event and there's also a video of it after the pics.
Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!
