Kana Nakada: Who better to warm us up on such a frigid day?!!!!

 

 Once again had said I would be taking a day off and once again fooled everyone(!) but this time in a good way. Yesterday was saying how brutal the weather was and how it would be worse, sadly it's a case where the forecasters were correct! The air temp is 5F but with the wind chill it's minus ten so as the title says who else is better to warm us(me!) up on such a cold day.... plus it's snowed almost a foot of snow and is showing no signs of stopping! Oh well, sure a few of you are also experiencing such weather but then again most of the viewers to this blog tend to come from Japan, Korea and SE Asia so perhaps it's quite toasty where you are!

 Last year Kana 😍 was the most pleasant surprise I may have had since this blog began! I've liked her so much for over a decade, had always hoped she could have a lot of posts but resigned myself to that never happening. That is until 2025 for Kana had eleven posts last year and finished second on the yearly faves list, plus her posts were so popular with you viewers. But it had been a slowish stretch since November for Kana so I was praying last year wasn't just a blip and she wouldn't return to just having two posts a year. So while there's not a lot of current things for today there is a new mag spread that's promoting a digital book so bet Kana took a well deserved break during the holidays after a busy 2025, even if she has just six posts for this year I'd be happy enough and did any woman here top her gravure pics from last year????

 Think the Winter is also a busier time for pro Mahjong players as it's an indoor sport(game?) and of course any any Kana fan knows she's been in the pro M-League since 2022. I don't know the game well but it seems to me Kana has been doing well for the 2025-26 Winter season, below are the current stats and is her ranking fifth overall?

 So while there aren't many new things for today just glad I can do a post for Kana, but there are many new things in a way as I have some older Nogi cards that had never been posted before. First off are some pics from her IG page and of course many are from her M-League matches. The top two are from a mini vacation over New Year's, the next two are from her fan club page. To me that bottom pic is the best by far and we need to see Kana dressed more in that vein instead of her Mahjong uniform.

 It may not seem like many compared to others but Kana is now up to 38 posts, about twenty have been in the last four years and she never had many solo posts while with Nogi. One time briefly talked about something which was could Kana be considered to be Nogi's most successful first generation graduate? Others were more popular with the group but now Kana is much more busier than her peers as Kana's many gravure mag spreads and books from the past fourteen months are hard to top plus she's a pro Mahjong player. She's also written two books about the game, appears on many variety shows and has been the host of two radio shows. Plus Kana's second regular photobook came out last May and I can't think of any other 1G member who have been as busy since 2022, when all is said and done Kana 😍just may end up being my favorite first generation member! One huge plus is that I've never posted all that many of Kana's Nogi cards in the past so can often include many of them in posts, have two batches of cards for today which are new for here! It being January have cards for this month which go from 2019 to 2016.

 What else is nice about cards is that you can see the difference a decade makes, to me Kana's looks improved more than any other member and don't take that as me saying she didn't look super back then because she did!!!! At the end of February Nogi holds 2-3 concerts for their anniversary/birthday, sometimes there's a second set of concerts in August as back in 2011 is when the 1G members were announced. Below have a batch of of the February cards from 2020-17, hopefully can have another Kana post next month for Valentine's Day.

 Let's stay with Nogi for one more set of pics, most of Kana's older magazine spreads have been posted but that happened so many years ago. So bet most viewers have never seen some of her ancient spreads or have forgotten about them so every now and again will include an oldie but goldie. Here's a terrific Kana spread from the May 2019 issue of Entame, Kana never had any gravure pics until her first photobook was released in October 2020 and that was a few weeks after her Nogi graduation.

 This second set is only about eight months old but how long to fabulous magazine spreads stay in your mind? Bet not long enough and Kana was the cover girl for the June 9th edition of Young Magazine, it featured outtake pics from her sweltering second photobook.

 Will end off with a brand new Kana spread and she's the cover girl for the January 29th issue of Young Magazine. The spread is promoting a new digital book and the bottom three are promo pics from the magazine's site. My only complaint about Kana is that there haven't been any videos for her sizzling spreads and why?! So after the pics have such a prehistoric Kana video from March 2014 and the BLT magazine, they had a series called 'Nogi Quarterly' which featured all of the first and second generation members. Those videos have always been a favorite of mine and wish there were more series like it, of course Kana looked so much different twelve years ago and check out other member's videos while you're at the site.
