Mentioned it before but the biggest advantage J-dramas have over K-dramas is their length, at five episodes already 55% done with the series. First 15-20 minutes were kind of so-so, not as much suspense as the previous shows but it made up for that in the last 25 minutes. So much happened it's going to be hard to tell you everything but did take more screenshots than usual.

Episode starts right off with the team trying to solve the murder of a female high school student named Togawa. It's eerily similar to a murder that took place five years ago, both times a piece of candy was left in the victims mouth. The killing method was the same too though a tad different, Hinako's elite team is wondering if this may have been a copycat murder. Hinako's superior doesn't think so as the details of that older crime weren't told to the media. Have mentioned it a few times before but that murder from five years ago was the sister of Hinako's partner Shoji.
Another case which the team is working on is one which has linked all of the episodes up until now. The murders the team has solved has led the suspect to kill themselves, the suicides were also videotaped. The team feels as though there's a link to all of the suicides, last episode they deduced all of the victims had a connection to the Hayasaka clinic. Nakajima works there and he's been so helpful with the force in solving their last two murders, Hinako is starting to have her doubts about him as he may not be as innocent as he looks.
Nakajima was the one who had found the body of Shoji's sister five years before, seems as though way too many things are linked to him but it's his boss Hayasaka who is a prime suspect in the suicides. Hinako and Shoji question Hayasaka and he does admit doing experiments on the ones who committed suicide and other patients. His goal is to cure the world of evilness and even thinks he can change the memories of the murderers to pleasant ones instead of a horrible nightmare.

Wasn't any kind of crime they could charge Hayasaka with, he's soon going to wish he was arrested. Now the force is starting to become more interested in Nakajima and whether he's involved with Hayasaka's evil plans. He has been but unknown to everyone he's started to implement his own plans. The original plan Hayasaka had thought of was a method loosely called 'Infiltration'. He thought he could cure people's wicked ways by using that method, it's also somehow enabled him to give those five suicide victims a brain tumor.
The elite investigative team is now looking for Nakajima as he's nowhere to be found. Eventually he gets in touch with Hinako and sets up a meeting for the next day. The meeting wasn't with him but a guard we met briefly in the last episode, for some unknown reason he knows all about the plans of Hayasaka and Nakajima. He fills in Hinako on what he knows and how Nakajima is breaking away from Hayasaka to start his own method of curing evil doers.
The killer in the two high school murders is a man named Kubo, he's now under the spell of Nakajima who tricks Hayasaka into going to Kubo's apartment. There he meets Kubo and it wasn't much of a struggle as Kubo quickly stabbed Hayasaka and left him for dead. The detectives had found out about Kubo and rushed to his place to arrest him, too late as Kubo had fled but they did discover the dead body of Hayasaka.

Skipping a few of the details but the final scene was the best part of the episode, it took place in Nakajima's apartment. Hinako had zoomed over there once she heard about Hayaska's murder, upon arriving there she besides Nakajima there was also Kubo in attendance. Kubo is under Nakajima's spell, hasn't been revealed how he was able to do it but by clicking a button on his watch he's able to switch a person over to following his orders.
That's what he did when Hinako arrived, at first it appeared as though he told Kubo to kill Hinako. He may have but that quickly changed as Kubo turned the knife he had onto himself! Hinako tried to stop him from stabbing himself but was held back by Nakajima who also began telling her some of his warped plans to cure the world of evil.
Kubo kept stabbing himself, eventually so many times be's become the sixth 'suicide victim'. At first that's what Nakajim said but then admitted that Kubo's death was a murder and he's responsible. Nakajima then pulled a gun out and was about to shoot himself in the head. Just before he could Hinako's team arrived, Shoji standing outside a window was able to shoot the gun out of Nakajima's hand as he was quickly arrested and charged with the murder of Kubo.

Nakajima's arrest happened right near the end and that was really it for the episode. Even though Nakajima has been arrested don't think that's going to be the last of his evil doings, still four episodes to go. Plus he hasn't been charged in any way with the previous five suicides, lot of questions did get answered but also a few more mysteries got added into the plot.
This episode did start out a bit slow but the last 25 minutes were quite suspenseful and interesting so perhaps the slow start made the ending that much more forceful. Did leave some details out that happened in the second half, so much took place would probably bore you with all of them. However did take so many screenshots so if you view them think you can follow what happened quite easily.
Four episodes to go so think I'll do a pair of two packs to end the series off, will do posts for episode's 6-7 and then 8-9 and it'll be a post each for those shows but just back to back ones. Hopefully can have that done soon, will try to have the first pair will be done this Sunday. Too many episodes left to give it a rating but so far it's very close to a 9/10, hard to go wrong with police shows.
