Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Mayu Matsuoka: Few recent happenings....
Been so busy lately with other posts completely forgot about Mayu who is in my top five for current actresses, she is just so incredibly adorable. Never did finish recapping her "Okodawari" drama that aired in the Spring, really recommended if you like totally wacky shows.
Mayu has appeared in three dramas this year so taking a well deserved break, she's also been in three films that have been released this year. Lot of recent activities though these last few weeks even though she's not going to be in any more dramas or films this year. First thing is from a recent interview for YouPaper which is a Japanese website, it's also known as YouPress.
Some recent pics promoting Furisode's 'coming of age' kimonos though Mayu's next b-day will be her 22nd, that will be happening on February 16th.
More promo pics and these are for the Furryrate Autumn/Winter collection.
Mayu's last series was "Aquarium Girl", seen her in six dramas and that's been the only one I didn't care too much for. On October 21st Mayu was at the Shinagawa Aquarium where she was the honorary day director and took a turn with the dolphins like she did in the drama. Pics here are from the event along with a video after them.

Suizokukan Girl was such a pleasantly uneventful watch, nothing special, but very relaxing in a boring way
ReplyDeleteUneventful is an apt description for that drama. Never posted about the show but thought "Genkai Shuraku Kabushiki Kaisha" was her best one to date. SHE was quite good too but would have been much better had it been longer.
ReplyDeleteI like her movies best, Genkai was good, haven't bothered to check out SHE
ReplyDeleteHave her 2015 film "Samulife" and really want to watch it but just haven't got around to it yet, "Neko Nanka" also looks like an interest film.
