Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

SKE48: Few recent mag spreads plus more....

Kind of glad I did this post as it jogged my memory on a once huge fave. That's Rena and at one time she may have been in my top five for fave Idols. It's probably been a year since her last post and think it's time to start working on at least one of them. Rena was quite busy after her 2015 graduation but the past year or so she's been just way too quiet though she has been in two dramas. No films since 2017 either but will try to work on a post(s) for her as she does have many fans out there.
On to the current gals from SKE and it's kind of surprising they're not more popular around here except for the occasional solo post. I still enjoy their tunes quite a bit but do admit their last single wasn't one of their best. One good thing about SKE is you don't need to worry about any scandals, most '48' groups have had their share and still do as many fans know but SKE has always been one that's mainly been a clean cut bunch of Idols. Group's last single "Stand By You" has been a decent seller, it's had some staying power as it's been in the top ten for sales six weeks after it's release and has sold about 300,000 copies but that's still one of their lower selling singles.

Instead of the individual groups having their own ceremony all of the '48' members who are turning or have within the past few months celebrate their 'Coming of Age' ceremony together. This year's event was held on January 14th and six SK members were in attendance. Few pics here from the ceremony and doesn't it seem as though Ryoha should be much older than twenty?

What I'm really looking forward to is the 'SKEBingo!' show that's starting on the 22nd. Think this version will be a bit better than the AKB or Nogi ones as SKE is a smaller group plus all of the older and more popular members will be on the shows. Will definitely be watching it and will probably do a few posts for the first few episodes.

On to the mag spreads and thought there would have been more because of their new single. Ruka is a member I don't know too well but she does look mighty darn good in this first set, it was a missed one from the November issue of EX-Taishu.

This next on came out in December and SKE has their own mag which comes out sporadically. This is from volume five of the magazine and has two separate sets. First one features Akari who we haven't seen in a spread since her August photobook was released. Joining her is Nao who is just looking so unbelievable these days, she's not far from being my #1 member. Second part of the issue has a quintet and hopefully you'll know their names.

Jurina is a person who we don't see nearly enough of these days, if she gets back to being as active as she once was she has an excellent chance of one day being my #1 Idol of all time. She's joined by Akane who is one member who deserves to appear in so many more mags, what an underrated hot gal she is. Third member in this set is Yuna who may be SKE's most popular member these days and she appears in more mags than anyone from the group, this set is from the January Big One Girls.

Group spread here from the January edition of Entame though it does have a solo set along with featuring a duo.

No new Mina spreads so will end off with this fabulous set from the October 2nd issue of Flash, fairly sure it was posted but wasn't 100% certain. After the pics check out an older SKE PV which is for their "1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku" single which is one of my all time fave J-Pop songs.
