Know the title just says this is just the second mag post of the year. But it's actually the 9th overall post as there's been seven solo ones for my two fave members, five for mag spreads along with their two sweltering photobooks. Which means you won't be seeing much of them in this post but do have one spread featuring Sae who has three of those solo posts. You won't be seeing anything from Miru either for she just had a solo post on Monday and glad there's been no graduation rumors about them yet but do have a bit of news about one member due to leave soon.
At the top is a clip from the CDTV show from August 22nd, hope it stays up and if not will put the regular PV in it's place. The video is of NMB's 23rd single "Datte Datte Datte" which was released on August 19th. EDIT: Sadly like most YT videos it was deleted. I would consider the single to be a success as it sold close to 200,000 copies it's first week and after a long stretch of declining sales their last few singles are moving in the right direction which means each one is selling a bit more than the previous one. However it just landed in the second position on the charts which doesn't happen too often to a '48' group. To me SKE has always had the best singles from the four major '48' groups but these days NMB's singles have been better, here are the covers for the single.
But as been the case for other J-Pop groups there's been no Summer tour because of the situation in Japan. That affected this single as it was originally supposed to be released in May but was pushed back three months. Their theater in Osaka was closed for a while too but has reopened and that's the group's hometown.
At the top mentioned about a member leaving and she's one of my faves from the group. Won't get into too many details today as she does deserve a solo post or two and not sure she's ever had one. Am talking about Akari who announced her graduation on August 16th which also happened to be her 24th birthday. No date has been set yet for her farewell concert(s) but sure it won't be for a few months. She's without a doubt the group's busiest member as she's a model for about five fashion sites and will be in an upcoming drama, hope to have that solo post in a week or so. Speaking of graduations, she's also buddies with another gal that's soon to be departing....
May as well have Akari start off today's set, this batch is from the June edition of Ray. She's joined by Sae as both are models for the magazine and they often appear in spreads together. Have six in total for today but this is the first group post since February so it's not really that many in six months. But there's two members who do appear in many mags but I don't like to post about them as to me they're more gravure models than singers.
What I enjoy about these group posts is that it features members you don't often here about. NMB has five really popular current gals but few others are rarely are in the spotlight nor do they get many solo spreads. Would consider Nagisa to be in that five for being popular but she's not at the level she was once at, this is a slightly older set from the March issue of Entame. Exactly one week ago which was August 25th she celebrated her 24th birthday.
Another set from Entame and these pics are from their May edition. It features Shion Hori who is not related to my fave Nogi member. This is the first time i can recall her having her own solo spread and she does look mighty fine, back on May 29th she turned 24. As is the case for SKE one reason I've followed NMB for a long time as they tend to have older members.
Have another member who I can't recall having a solo spread, bet she has though but it was so long ago can't remember when it or they were. This is another member who is 24 in age and that's Ayaka Okita but on October 11th she'll be turning 25, so many of these older members have flown under the radar for so long. In most other groups members they would leave but for some reason that's not the case for NMB gals and this set is from the July 10th issue of Friday.
That was darn looking spread and so isn't this one from the July edition of EX-Taishu.
With such attractive gals you wonder why there's not more spreads with featuring members, perhaps the competition to be in mags is extremely tough. Yet one more set with a member who could be in her first solo spread, it's another set from EX-Taishu and their August issue. It features Chihiro Kawakami who has been with NMB since December 2012! She's someone who I haven't really noticed but is the captain of Team N and in December will be turning 22.
Will be ending off with this hotter than hot set which really isn't a mag spread. These are outtake pics from the September issue of Bomb and will try to have it in the next group post. Yuuka has the back cover of the issue and if she had more overall spreads or a PB then she'd be in the running for being the hottest member of NMB, to me she looks out of this world. She's also getting up there in age as she turned 23 on August 1st and the past year she's starting to become so much more popular. After the pics is another video of the "Datte Datte Datte" single which is the full version of the tune. But it's not the regular PV but a special 'stay at home' video which is kind of entertaining.
