Risa Watanabe: Her semi 'Happy 25th Birthday' post....
By the semi part was hoping this would be a super duper post which it is to a certain extent but there aren't nearly as many new pics as you or I were hoping for. As mentioned a few times before for other graduates when a popular Idol leaves their group they tend to stay busy for the next eight or so months but Risa bucked that trend a bit as she was quite busy for about ten months. But there hasn't been much going to lately as this is her first post in nearly three months and that could sadly be a personal record for her.
As many know Risa was #1 on my 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list which was completed ten months ago. If I had to do the list again today she'd still be number one even though things have been a bit slow and actually on that list no other woman gave her a battle for the top spot! To me the most impressive thing is how Risa has done on the yearly faves list and she never has been number one but came mighty close in 2019. Of the dozen women who have made the yearly list three or more times her average position is 5.6 and no other woman could top that, she made the list five times from 2018-22. But I'm worried about this year as this is finally her sixth post and that's the total needed to be eligible, have a strong feeling this will be the first year with her finishing lower than seventh.
Risa's popularity here has been way up and down, much more down in the last year or so. In 2019 her posts drew more views than any other woman but in 2020 she dropped to being the 17th most popular woman. She did make it back up to fifth in 2021 but dropped way down again in 2022 and her five previous posts this year have gotten such a low amount of views. One reason could be for the lack of new gravure pics and we may never see any more from her again, it's also very common for an Idol's posts to become less popular after they graduate. Will begin off with these photo from her IG page but this has been it since the first week in May.
There's a familiar face above and the pair had attended a Keya concert in May. So though Risa's posts have slowed down this year she has the second most posts of anyone since the beginning of 2018, gone are the days when she'll have 15+ in a year but I'd be more than happy if she could have around ten a year. Lot of pics for today though not all new but then again sure many have missed some of her golden oldies such as these somewhat ancient Keya birthday cards which stopped in 2019.
Plenty of older birthday photos and many have been seen in previous posts but four of them are brand new for here.
How about one more batch of older Keya cards which are from exactly six years ago and these too had never been posted.
When Risa's last post was done in the first week of May had these ultra fabulous modeling pics from the Aoki site. I had thought she would be a full time model for them but sadly there haven't been any new photos since then.
Risa still does attend those huge fashion shows and there will be a pair of Autumn/Winter shows for 'Tokyo Girls Collection' coming up on September 2nd and October 7th. Would think she would be at one of those shows and hopefully both, so many members from Hina and Keya also appear at them. Let's go back in time for the 2019 TGC Autumn/Winter show and as you can see she took two strolls on the stage which you never see happen these days.
Why not stay in 2019 for one more oldies set and she was the cover girl for the July 10th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday. There were a few times on Keya's old variety show where Risa did say her biggest problems were being too shy and quiet. Wonder if that has affected her solo career at all but did notice in her last year with Keya she had started to be a bit more outgoing.
Risa has been a model for the Non-no magazine since April 2017 and hope she doesn't leave them for a while as her photos for them are always terrific. She doesn't appear in every issue of their magazine but have four pics here from their April issue followed by seven pages from their July edition.
Will end off with a huge amount of recent Risa pics from the Non-no site, of course all are simply fabulous and especially those first two.... WOW!!!! Hard to believe but she hasn't had a video for over five months and perhaps a good idea would be to open her own YT channel. After the pics have a promo video for Risa's graduation DVD concert which took place on May 22nd of last year, Keya has one coming out soon for their second tour.
