Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Yui Ichikawa: Her scintillating "Grazie" photobook scans!!!!

A few days ago did say Ayumi may have been my #1 woman up until 2012 or so, also said the same thing about Yui eight days ago. You really could almost call it a dead heat between the pair and can't go wrong with either choice though of course these days neither would be way up on a fave's list. Except for one where I would rank my first wave of favorite actresses, gravure models, Idols, etc. and did say I would be working on some sort of list though you wouldn't see it for a while. They haven't had posts for eons but others who would make that very interesting list would be women such as Maki and Masami, those were both massive faves of mine who have semi-disappeared and at least for the former it was because of getting married.

Getting married and having children is by far the biggest reason Yui isn't nearly as busy as she once was. Sure most don't think about it but if you look back at how busy Yui was from 2001 until 2015 with dramas, movies, photobooks, events and more you'd be hard pressed to find a busier actress/model. This was yet another post done in ancient times where the photos became unviewable because they were linked to Photobucket, have one more of Yui's to update. What I would also like to do is a regular post or two with magazine spreads and whatever else. A few months back Yui did have a large spread for the Young Jump magazine who this year are celebrating their 45th anniversary. So she and a few other popular women who had many spreads for them had some new sets for the magazine this year, even though the women were all seven to twenty years removed from doing their last spread all still looked oki-doki to me. What would like to do is have a post featuring that new spread which I have and all of Yui's older Young Jump spreads. Those could prove to be more difficult to have in a post as I only have a few of them and it's hard to get such older magazines.

But will keep trying and hope to have some good news for her next Blast from the past post about finding some older magazines. Yui has had an even dozen regular photobooks, two were from a decade ago and may have been among the top ones of the 2010's. Her first ten were released between 2001 to 2008, "Grazie" was came out in December 2002 and was her sixth book. As a matter of fact she had four regular photobooks that year and have never heard of that happening before. Enough of reliving the golden days of Yui who in less than three months will be hitting the age of 39. At 107 photos this was a good sized book and as a bonus she did travel to Italy for the photo shoot.
