Mai Shinuchi: Just because ( 𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏 ) who else deserves a post more than her(?), volume #umpteen....

 

 Was going to have the title as one of those 'Blast from the Past' or 'Remember Who?' posts but there was no need to as her last one was just fourteen weeks ago though when it comes to such a massive favorite of mine as Mai 😍 is it seems like an eternity! This was also one of those days when I suddenly got the urge to do a post for someone who of course is Mai, while it may have been fourteen weeks since her last post I still check up in her daily but too often this year have come up empty handed with new things. Could have also titled this as 'Best post of the year?" or something like that, I didn't expect to even be able to do this post and though there's a long way to go until finishing it this truly could be one of the top ones for 2026!!!!

 I've become so nostalgic the past month and don't think that's a bad thing. You long time visitors know that from 2017-23 there were too many posts for Nogi and Keya to count, in a way do miss those days and there will never be a return to them. But if you include graduates of those two groups have done close to forty posts between the two groups this year and all of them have been chockful of new photos plus of course also some golden nuggets! This post will be another one in that vein, have over fifty new Mai photos from the past few months along with some oldies that hadn't been seen here before. Plus will have some encore viewings of some oldies so once again a post will have over a hundred photos which does take a while to write up but in the case of Mai 😍 it's kind of a Labor of Love! For I have said for over five years if I could have one woman who I post about to be my girlfriend Mai would be #1 without a doubt, as a matter of fact the margin between her and everyone else has somehow increased!!!!

 Don't know if anyone else has noticed or thinks how I do about Mai's look over the past two years. Which is that she wears her glasses much more than she ever did and doesn't mind posting photos of her wearing them at her fan club or IG page. You'll see plenty of recent Mai pics featuring her wearing specs and in a way she often looks better with them on! Plus what I think is so impressive is that Mai isn't nearly as self conscious about wearing them unlike many others I post about, granted a J-Pop Idol can't wear them at a concert but offstage what's wrong with wearing them? I just recalled that back in 2017 Nogi won an entertainment award for being the group whose members look best wearing Megane which is the Japanese word for glasses.

 Never did do a post this year around Valentine's Day for Mai, her 34th birthday took place 23 days before the quasi-holiday. In less than three months the countdown for my third 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list will begin, do one every four years. On the 2022 list Mai finished in the 12th spot and to me that was impressive for up until 2020 it was so difficult doing these kinds of posts for her. But she's now up to almost sixty solo posts plus has so many photos in Nogi group posts so all in she may have about somewhere between 8-10,000 photos here! Back to that list and where Mai finishes at this time around is a mystery but she will make the top ten but no more than a spot or two higher than that. All of her posts are terrific in a unique way, sort of like Akari, but unlike her Mai hasn't had any gravure spreads or books since leaving Nogi which has meant less posts and it'll prevent her reaching the top five.

 As I said a few gazillion times no woman in history can top Mai's 😍 legs and the rest of her is quite sultry to me also!!!! Have a little bit of many things, both old and new with these older Nogi cards for May leading off. However there weren't nearly as many as other months so also added in some cards for the group's 2015/16 singles. My favorites by far from this batch are the bottom three which were for Mai's first ever stage play "All Dogs go to Heaven" and that happened in October 2015.

 What Mai is such a master at is being a radio host, she is so interesting plus has such a magnetic voice. Since 2022 she's hosted two radio shows, one is a solo show that's titled SDGs Magazine and she always posts photos from it at her Mai League fan club. Below are photos from the past few months and did say she posts so many pictures these days of her wearing glasses. Pay attention to the final photo, it's not easy to see but Mai has a mini doll in front of her and how I'd like a life size one of her though the real deal would be my ultimate dream....

 More brand new photos which are from Mai's IG page, she also has them at her fan club where she posts even more pictures. So many of them are semi-modeling ones and I still can't understand why no site has signed her up to model their OL clothing plus I would love to see her have another digital book. Mai did have a mini one back in June 2022 which was four months after leaving Nogi, there were no gravure photos in it but it was still one stupendous book! That first IG photo is out of this world and it may come close to being my favorite pic of the year.... WOWOWOWOW!!!!

                                              

       

 In sixteen days Mai's good Nogi mate Minami will be departing and the two were very good friends while in Nogi. They often did radio shows together and also paired up to do two magazine spreads. However there weren't enough photos for a 'Pairs Post', Minami has been Nogi's all tallest member but least Mai somewhat held her own in a height contest.... hmmmm, were they resting up for me in that second photo????

 The last four years Mai has released a calendar but this year there nothing super duper to go along with it. Because in the previous three years there had been an event and sizzling magazine spread to promote, this year there wasn't either and why not? All of the spreads were with Big Comic Spirits and Mai was the cover girl for all of them, here's the first of the three spreads to promote the calendar which is from their December 22, 2022 issue.

 Whew, I could gush about Mai's legs all day year long! For the first two years after leaving Nogi Mai did appear at many events but there weren't too many in 2025. On April 6th she appeared at her first one of the year and though at first glance it may not seem so these are some terrific photos! The event took place at MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives in Tokyo and the museum is supposed to serve as a hub for creativity and cultural ideas. There will also be presentations and such, the first one at this new museum was titled "MANALOGUE: Phoenix" which is a manga and the images were presented on a large screen. That's where Mai came in as she was the narrator of the story and did say above what a soothing voice she has. Also mentioned that she wears her glasses more these days in public and did so to read the script, perhaps she just needs Megane for reading. There was more than just the reading as some of the manga's special effects were shown such as that metal arm she's looking at below and there are many articles about the event out there. Not positive but think the manga will be an Anime and in it Mai will be voicing the character of an AI entity named Yumi Mastsutoya.

 After this final batch of pics is a video interview from the above event. Will end off with some truly dazzling photos of Mai and does she have any other kind? The answer to that is NOPE and once again will say how I would love to see her begin to do some modeling again or have another digital book, it'd be fine if there were no gravure photos as Mai 😍 looks simply perfect no matter how she's clad.
