Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Hinatazaka46: A little(massive) of this and that for 2023 #10....

First group post in seven weeks and actually hadn't planned on doing this for another week. Sometimes you just need a break from certain things before you grow too tired of them and that was the case to an extent with Hina though there have been a decent amount of member's posts. Leading off is Yuka, she had her first two ever solo posts in May and June which were both extremely popular. Yuka graduated two weeks ago and was planning on doing another post for her but outside of her farewell concert there really wasn't all that much else. However if you are a Yuka fan will have a pair of posts for her coming up. Her graduation book was released on May 8th and always wait three months before posting a '46' photobook so was thinking of having that book be the final post for August. Then about a month later will do some sort off cleanup post for the things I've missed for Yuka over these past few months and she'll be someone who you will see in future group posts.

Will have many more solo posts coming up and of course Shiho will have at least one. Her sizzling photobook came out on June 20th so I wouldn't be posting that until October 1st but will have at least one post for her between now and then.

Am really hoping that the next post for a member will be for Suzuka and that may be in less than a week, depends on when an event for her first stage play will be held. That's not good news for viewers as she's easily the most unpopular woman here(?!) who I hope aren't already heading for the hills!

Then lastly for solo posts besides the two members who regularly have one will be for Konoka. However may do something which hasn't been done for a while which is to have....

.... a 'Pairs Post' and there hasn't been one of them for Hina in over a year. If possible would like to have one with her and Miku as the pair do have a magazine spread coming out soon but for now not sure if it'll work out though am keeping my fingers crossed.

"Am I Ready" is the title of Hina's tenth single that was released on July 26th. Of course it was #1 on the charts in it's first week out selling a little over 448,000 copies. Their sales are so consistent which is a positive but can't believe there hasn't been an increase over the last four singles, to me all have been very good though wouldn't consider any of them to be a classic J-Pop single. Then again sales don't mean as much as they did a decade ago as groups have so many more variety shows, dramas, photobooks, etc.

Hina does have a new group variety show beginning tomorrow called "Hinata Academy" and think it's a spinoff from their 'Hina Choi' show. Not doing a group post for seven weeks means there's a lot of things to get to from that time span and will space them out between two posts. First off are these monthly message photos from the Hina site that came out on July 1st and just have the first three generations.

In these group posts try to feature members who don't get enough attention. Right above is Mikuni who to me could have the most attractive face of any '46' member.... EVER!!!! Have some recent pics from the Hina group blog and would love to do a birthday post for her next month but don't think it's going to be that easy to do....

One member who has been way too quiet these last four months is Hiyori and she too celebrates a birthday next month. However bet I will be able to do a post for her and she's had three in the last year, once again some recent photos from the Hina blog.

In each issue of the Friday magazine the group has a mini two page spread called 'Hina Satsu'. Have five spreads here that go backwards from August 11th until July 14th.

One regular magazine spread that's from the August 10th issue of Young Jump. It features the third generation members Haruyo and Marie, you don't see either in a magazine that often and the bottom pics are from the photo shoot.

The promo pics for the 'Uni's on Air' web game haven't come out for August yet. That's okay as there's still many from July to post and will have more in that next group post. Each member has four pics and this batch features the first generation members. Who are Sarina and I would love to do a post for her, she's followed by Hina's captain Kumi with Ayaka and Mana rounding out the quartet.

Today's other foursome will feature the members from the third generation. Leading off is Hinano who is the center for the current single, in such a shock she'll have the next photobook. She is a member I do like but it's hard to think of her being sexy or alluring, personally would have liked to seen someone else have a book. After her are the pair of Haruyo and Marie who you saw slightly above. Always save the best for last who is Mikuni, I may be the only person in Earth with this thought but she's someone I would love to see have a book.... bet it'll never happen 😒....

Will end off with a hopefully mini recap of their 'Aimashou' variety show, it was #217 that aired on July 2nd. Did take about a five week break from viewing any of these shows as they had gotten into a rut and weren't as interesting as they once were. Hate to say it but a huge reason was so many of the episodes were devoted to the new fourth generation members and it kind of felt as they were being pushed on us. Sure there's many other long time fans out there like me who much prefer to see the first or second generation members but semi-sadly this was another show that revolved around the 4G gals. It was okay though as the theme was one I liked that had to do with betting on members and it's the fourth time this kind of show has happened. The main title was 'Hinatazaka Summer Derby', the previous one aired in the Winter. This is part one of this challenge, will do a group post next week with the second part. The object was for the members to bet on which 4G gal would do best in some sort of challenge, they all began off with a pot of five Chacha coins.

The regular host Wakabayashi wasn't there as he had some voice problems, taking his place was a man named Kasukawa who had been on this show a few other times. He set the odds for each mini challenge, for instance if the odds were 4:1 and a member bet two coins on the winner they would win back eight Chacha coins. The four members who were betting were the second generation members Akari, Konoka, Nao and the 3G member Mikuni, wish they had more screen time. The first battle was one that has been seen often and is a fun event where a member would spin around a baseball bat ten times and then try to kick a ball. The runaway winner in this challenge was Hinoka who kicked the ball over ten meters and it would gone further but a wall stopped it! The only person to bet on her was Konoka who grabbed the early lead as far as coins go but in the second round no one won any coins. There were four mini challenges in this second event which had to deal with typing on a smartphone and that ended this show. Not going into details but all of the screenshots below go in order of the action and the challenges for the next show look to be much more interesting and fun.
