Maimi Yajima: Her resplendent "Nobody Knows 23" photobook(a repost) plus a few other goodies....

Check out the previous/next post for a current Nogi member, there's a seven year age difference which is how much older Maimi is but don't the two look so similar?! In the words of Tony the Tiger that means.... They're Great!!!! Second C-ute post this week but don't expect many more after this but it's nice to take a stroll down Memory Lane once in a while and said often C-ute will always be my #1 J-Pop group. But may have another Maimi post next month, still doing that cleanup project of older photobooks, did one earlier this week, this post has another and there's one more Maimi book I want to get to which is "Pure Eyes" which was her eighth book while today's was her ninth.

Besides the book this is also a mini 'Happy 34th Birthday' post as each February 7th Maimi celebrates turning a  year older and I can't believe how quickly my long time faves have aged! If you've been visiting here for a while you know how huge of a favorite Maimi is of mine, of course she's fallen down the list a bit but that's been the case for most gals I posted about a decade ago. Maimi was number one on the 2017 fave's list, on the first ever 'Top Twenty Faves Of All Time' list done in 2018 she was in the third position! So there aren't many bigger faves of mine than Maimi and in odd twist the top two on that 2018 list were also from Hello Project.

Even after C-ute disbanded in June of 2017 Maimi remained busy and to an extent still has to this day. A year after they broke up her final photobook came out, she modeled for a few clothing sites, co-hosted a variety show with her close C-ute mate, did a few guest spots on dramas and has been in at least 25 stage plays! So while Maimi isn't a superstar she's had a successful career, most activities aren't ones I can post about which is why there's been so few posts. But Maimi has way more posts than any other Hello Project member and that total will never be topped. The biggest reason for the lack of Maimi posts is that she got married in November 2022, then in July 2024 had her first child. I seldom do posts for someone who is married with children but every now and again do these kinds of posts for older things but it's not too common. Just thought of this now but bet a woman such as Maimi or a few others would appreciate these kinds of posts as it reminds older fans they're still around and they can be in the spotlight again for a few days.

That above pic is from Maimi's final photobook that came out in November 2018, sadly we may never see any more of those from any C-ute member. This won't be as large as the previous birthday post but have some other treats for her fans such as these newish photos from Maimi's IG page. These are all from the past six weeks and the first two are for birthday #34. But before December you had to go back three months for any other of Maimi's pics at her page and wonder why?

EDIT: Found out why and it's because Maimi was pregnant with child number two which arrived in November. So that means will have that one other photobook I mentioned and then I guess that may be it for Maimi's posts but she will go out on a positive note and she just may be the second most likable woman I've ever done posts for.

Maimi still looks super duper in those above new pics but you can tell she's no longer 25 in age! Speaking of that age here are her final ever C-ute cards and most are brand new for here, 25 was her age when C-ute disbanded in June 2017. Hello Project had an unwritten rule that members had to graduate back then at the age of 25, that's no longer in effect as many members are older than that. But wonder if that was a reason for the group breaking up, Maimi was 25 and within two years a pair of other members would have been. This June will try to have some sort of group post for the sad occasion, I've kept tabs on three of the members but think the other pair have retired from show biz.

Mentioned that Maimi has done a lot of regular modeling and most of that was in the first four years after C-ute went the way of the Dinosaurs! One site she modeled for was for Kitson, they're an offshoot of Kangol and at least four other women I post about model for that clothing line.

Almost a decade ago did the post for this book and also from the event Maimi had for it. Was able to find a small batch of photos from the event that hadn't been posted which are below.... I need to create a Time Machine to visit some of my older faves(!) and came up with that thought for am currently viewing the ninth doctor of the Doctor Who series. Am actually rewatching the box set I have of 125 episodes and what a classic series that was!

What I may miss more than anything is the Hello Project Digital Book series, one book came out each month for seventeen years. Usually a member would be featured two months in a row, bet Maimi appeared in a dozen books. The last issue was #207 from September 2021, still have no idea why that series ceased as it had to be a money maker. For Hello Project already had the pictures as they were ones from member's photobook shoots, one month would have a hundred pics. Below are from issue #141 and they feature outtake pics from today's books, they're so terrific why weren't they in the book? My favorites are of Maimi in the final set of pics, she is rather thin but also alluring to the Nth degree.

Here we are at the end with Maimi's ninth photobook, she had two more after this. One main reason for reposting the book is that I got a better version and this time put the pictures in their correct order, deleted those other two posts. H!P books are always so stupendous but one advantage the '46' groups have is that their books are much larger, this one contains 68 photos. But these books often had a video but the one on YT for "Nobody Knows 23" was deleted but found a shorter one that has some segments from it, the book was released on August 21, 2015. Sure you figured that the title referred to Maimi's age and she never released one book around her birthday.
