Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Maimi Yajima: Another blast from the past with a mega, mega fave....

It's been 28 months plus two days since C-ute's disbandment and wonder how many people out there remember them? Know I certainly do as I'll watch at least one of their concerts a week, know they don't have many fans here but they'll always be my #1 J-Pop group of all time. Even though it's a solo post it's good to keep their memory alive and have picked out such a superb tune for all to enjoy.
That's "Love take it all" from 2014 and what's so surprising to me is that it wasn't the A-side to a single but would consider it to be one of their top ten songs. Though their singles are all terrific it's their B-sides or album cuts which are among their best, the single this tune was on hit #2 on the charts. The group were certainly bridesmaids as five of their singles hit the number two position but none ever hit the top spot though all 31 of their singles hit the top ten.

But we're mainly talking about Maimi today and have mentioned a few times how hard it is to post about ex-Idols. Not that it's enough posts but think this is her fifth one in the last year which isn't too bad of a pace, most Idols save for a select few are lucky to have two in a year. Have also mentioned many times that to me Maimi is the most beautiful woman to ever walk upon the face of this Earth and have been saying that for many years now.
Few seem to agree with that as there's been a few recent comments from viewers who also appreciate her perfection and thanks for your correct comments! Sadly there's no new gravure pics but that's okay as Maimi still looks terrific no matter how she's dressed. Am curious on whether she'll have another photobook this year, last November she had one which really surprised me. It only sold a fair amount of copies but for the first time a book of hers hit #1 on the Oricon charts, she's had twelve books since 2007.

Her 2020 calendar will be coming out in about ten days, some promo pics for it.

Perhaps there will be an event for it along with a mag spread too, such a shortage of them the past two years. But do have a pair of pages from the November issue of Steady though they're not solo ones. After them though are some terrific pics from the andGirl site as Maimi is now an exclusive model for them and has been since earlier this year.

Not enough groups these days hold special shows, do me it seems so much fun has gone out of J-Pop as it's more about the money and image more than ever. C-ute used to perform many holiday concerts and have had so many of those pics in their group posts. None for today but seeing as how it's getting close to the night of ghouls(?) some older Maimi Halloween cards.

Maimi is in a new movie and it's her first one in about six years. It's titled "Black Fox: Age of the Ninja". However it's not a theater film but one that was released just on DVD, it came out on October 5th and some stills from the movie.

Maimi is quite the stage actress these days, she's appeared in six since C-ute broke up and has had the lead role in three of them. Her seventh play will be "Hula Girls: Dance for Smile" which opens this Friday at the Japan Youth Hall in Tokyo. On September 30th there was an event for it and all Nogi fans should know who is next to Maimi's side in some of the bottom pics.

On my 'All Time Top Twenty Faves' list Maimi finished in the third position, she lost out to her mate Saki who took the top spot. it was a difficult decision but felt I was right with it,. If another list ever gets done could see her moving up those two spots. My fave duo was at an event on September 8th in Nagatoro to promote the showing of the Rugby Workd Cup trophy which I guess is like the Stanley Cup, the pair have been doing a lot of promoting for this year's World Rugby Championship.

Was hoping to have a video for her "Ways" DVD which is my fave one of all time but surprised it's not on YT. So instead after these 'greatest pics' to end things off have a video for the making of Maimi's photobook "Nobody Knows 23" which is a must watch though the audio is just so-so.
