After watching this episode it made me think about how they figure out an average rating for an episode. Do they run their numbers every 15 or 30 minutes and then figure out the average from those percentages? What made me wonder is that this episode wasn't really a good watch or at least compared to the first two episodes, the ratings reflected that too as there was a big drop. Going in you don't know whether an episode is going to be a solid or boring watch which is why I think they may take a few ratings numbers during the hour a show is on.
Have noticed that episodes that turn out to be excellent ones tend to have higher ratings, guess a good show would keep the viewers. On the other hand a bad show wouldn't keep the viewers, they may turn it off halfway through. Perhaps this episode had a rating of 11% in it's first half hour but it turned out to be such a boring show that maybe the second half hour got a rating of 6% thus giving this episode an average rating of 8.6%. I really don't know if that's how ratings are figured out but it would make sense because like I said really good episodes probably keep the viewers for a whole hour. And this episode certainly did not keep the viewers then with that kind of rating but it did rise back over 10% for the next episode which mean it may be a better view, hopefully this episode was it's one mulligan and it'll get back to being a solid watch.

Actually the above thoughts were also to stretch this post out a bit, so little happened I'm wondering if I can make this recap two paragraphs long as usually they are at least four. No return of the 'City Hunter' yet, at the end of the second episode it looked like Ryo was going to be returning as him to rid Tokyo of the underground criminals the police stay away from. That didn't happen but the episode did leave off on the same premise, Ryo was again was wondering if it's time for the City Hunter to return, hope he does for the drama's sake.
This episode revolved around a ten year old girl named Miki who was dubbed "The Girl of Happiness". Miki would try to help everyone she could out, giving homeless people money or food and during this episode she befriended the owner of the Cats Eye coffee shop who is Falcon. Falcon has some eyesight problems and can't read so well, he ended up meeting Miki in a park one day and they became friends soon after with her reading him a book every day.
However Miki was just ten years old and people started wondering why she wasn't in school. Ryo found out that she was living alone as her mother had died a few months before. Miki had nowhere to go but didn't want to leave her shabby sleeping quarters thinking her mother would return which naturally wasn't going to happen.

Miki did know of her mother's death though, she just hadn't told anyone as she didn't know what would happen to her then. At the show's conclusion though we still don't know what became of her, if you watch this show you may have thought that Falcon would find a way to adopt her or at least have her live with him at his cafe but that didn't happen or at least not yet.
And my friends that was really about 90% if what happened, really don't know why they would air an episode like this one as it didn't answer any of the lingering questions nor did it set up any potential future story lines. It wasn't a horrible view but still didn't see what the point of this episode was, first two shows probably deserved an 8/10 grade, would give this one a 4+/10 grade. Too much time was spent on the Miki character this show, the main stars Ryo, Kaori and Glass Heart's screen time really went down because of that. Also the best part of this show has been about the evil organization Legion which is after Glass Heart and Liu Xin-Hing, after the first five minutes we never saw or heard anything about Legion.
Was talking about the ratings above and my recaps seem to reflect them, usually when a show is very good I end up taking so many screenshots there has to be a second post. Not today though as they can easily be squeezed them onto this one, let's hope for the next episode things get back to normal. It's a different drama but this like the Korean series "City Hunter" were both based upon the same manga, so far the Korean version is blowing away this drama but in it's defense "City Hunter" is a tough drama to top, really is a must watch. Have the fourth episode with subs but need to do two other series reviews so hopefully the next one for this show will be done by the weekend.

Angel Heart drama: Episode two screenshots

Kind of like the length of the recap in the above post, just enough details yet not too many as to spoil things if you're planning on watching this drama. Do have a habit of sometimes making them too long but lately have been successful making them shorter, really most things I may have left out you can catch in these screenshots.
Good to see more of Saki in this episode, wasn't sure how they were going to deal with her character as Kaori was killed in the first episode. Looks like then they'll be quite a few flashbacks in the episodes, really the only way we can see her is by them and we do need to see more of her as she really looks fabulous as always in this series. Rating went down for this episode, dropped to 10.0% after starting out at 12.6%, third episode dropped even more but there was a big increase as the fourth episode is back in the 10's.

Angel Heart drama: Episode two recap and screenshots

Start Date: October 11, 2015... Sundays at 10:00 pm.... Episode two rating: 10.0%

Main Cast:

 Takaya Kamikawa as Ryo Saeba
Saki Aibu as Kaori Makimura
Ayaka Miyoshi as Glass Heart/Xiang Ying
Shohei Miura as Liu Xin-Hing
Brother Tom as Falcon
Reika Takashima as Saeko Nogami

Have to admit that the first episode was a bit better, so much more action and excitement. But this episode was still okay even though it was much slower, many questions that I had after watching the first show were answered so in the long run think this episode will help. The questions that were mostly answered were how did Ryo become a 'City Hunter' and did he get together with Kaori.
Well if you read the first recap you'll know that Kaori was killed in a traffic accident, she was an organ donor but when they were transporting her organs to a special warehouse to store them the truck was hijacked. The hijackers really just wanted Kaori's heart to give to Glass Heart, an assassin who works for an evil organization called Legion. She had bungled an assignment was severely injured and needed a new heart to survive. The operation was a success but somehow Glass Heart now has some of Kaori's feelings and flees Legion who are now after her to kill her, more than once in the first show she was saved by Ryo.
Most of this episode dealt with flashbacks of Ryo and Kaori, how he got the name of City Hunter and how they teamed up. Ryo had been a criminal working for an unknown organization, his current assignment was to kill a police officer named Makimura who just happened to be a City Hunter and also the brother of Kaori. Ryo had trapped Makimura and could have killed him easily but became intrigued by what a City Hunter does so he decided against killing Makimura.

Instead Ryo teams up with Makimura to help him rid the the world of underground criminals, the police for certain reasons can't get involved with some cases thus City Hunter comes to the rescue. Their description is of 'Underground Sweepers', the duo hasn't been together long but have become very successful. Too successful as the pair has been targeted for execution, Makimura was eventually gunned down but Ryo is one tough customer, it'd take more than a small army to bring him down.
Kaori had been working as a nurse in sort of an 'underground hospital', they don't treat criminals but honest citizens who need some immediate help. After the death of her brother Kaori has decided to become a City Hunter too and teams up with Ryo, actually more of them joining forces needs to be explained as they went over it too quickly just before the episode ended.
Think we'll be seeing many more flashbacks in the next few episodes as a few more things about Ryo and Kaori's past haven't been explained. However now it's back to current times and once again Legion has tried to kill Glass Heart, once again Ryo came to her rescue. Actually very little happened in the present in this episode, bet 3/4 of the show were flashbacks.
Since Kaori's death Ryo has been unofficially retired as a City Hunter, however at the end of the show he's wondering if it's time to revive the name. Mainly because to bring Legion down but there's also been much underworld activity going on which only City Hinter can stop so looks like we'll be seeing him in action very soon. It also looks like Glass Heart will be his new partner along with Liu Xin-Hong, like Glass Heart he also defected from Legion and is now helping out in Falcon's cafe. Falcon and the police superintendent Nogami we didn't see too much of in this episode but sure we will soon, we really need to find out the working relationship of Nogami and Ryo, did they perhaps work together at one time?

Though slower than the first show it was good to see more questions being answered, in the long run this may make this a better show. So far, so good though for this drama which just aired it's fourth episode this Sunday, the third episode has been subbed so will try to to the recap of that show very soon. As is the norm here the following post has many more screenshots from this episode.
