Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: 2020 Magazine scans #3 and slightly more....
Rarely start off the posts with this Mai but was just reading something about her. That's of her 'Passport" photobook which had another reprinting to bring the total up 380,000 copies, that's a record no Idol will probably ever top. But that PB came out 35 months ago(!) and isn't it getting time for a followup? Hope that's not her final book but perhaps it's a PB that even she thinks can't be topped which is why there's hasn't been a third PB. Actually what I really want to see is another book from group's other Mai, her first and only one came out about 2 1/2 years ago.
There's been quite a few Nogi group posts recently so there aren't many activities since their last one though there could be close to seventy new pics for today. One is of Mizuki whose first PB will be coming out in less than three weeks and she's kind of shocking me with her advance pics. The top one is brand new and have a few others which you may have seen before.
No new pics for Miona but she just had a post two days ago, she also has a PB coming out but the release date hasn't been announced yet. Nogi appeared on at least three TV music shows this past week and have viewed all of them. One was the 70th 'Kohaku' show that aired on December 31st but two days before that the group held a press conference for it.
Here's some screenshots from their appearance as the group performed "Synchronicity" and if you notice the members of Keya and Hina joined them on stage. Unsure if I'll have a video of it as too many of them are getting deleted from YT. It was an okay performance but the stage was a bit too crowded, they should have had about five members from each group do the song.
On December 30th Nogi appeared on the 61st 'Japan Record Grand Prize' show, they won an 'excellence award' for their "Sing Out!" single. Once again it was an okay performance and they did have a real band back them up. But their current singles are just a tad boring in a way and they really could use an injection of energy in them. There's such a difference in their songs from the past few years, while none are bad I still prefer the songs before 2017. Not just the singles but the album cuts as most of my fave Nogi tunes are their lesser known ones. It's Nogi's third year in a row where one of their singles won the 'excellence award'.
Here we are two days into the new year and this is already the third post for mag spreads, sure the pace won't continue. The first 'Tokyo Girls Collection' show will be taking place in nine days but it appears only two Nogi embers will be there, hope a few more get added. First spread is from the January issue of UTB and almost didn't post it. The set features Erika but to me the look like outtake pics from a spread she did for them back in 2017, it's been a while since I've had a set with her so decided why not have them as the pics are superb.
Yuki remains the member with the most spreads and these days she's often the cover girl. She has that honor for this huge set from the February issue of Entame.
Also in that issue were a trio of members with mini spreads.
Hinako had three pics in the above batch and will end off with more of her from the February UTB. But did have these pics in a group post about a week ago but the pics are so terrific thought I'd have them again in case you missed it. Will have one of the videos of them performing "Sing Out!" at the awards show, will replace it if it gets deleted and it aired on CDTV.
