Ryo Matsuda as Takeshi Shibata..... clerk at the store, first met in episode three

Ryo Matsuda as Takeshi Shibata.... finally met in episode five and he's a new worker at the store, he appeared to come from a very wealthy family

Four more episodes to go, will have a pair of recaps today and the final set in exactly a week. Every show has been solid though will admit the last two kind of dragged a bit and weren't as interesting as the first four. But there was a nice rebound for this episode as it was one of the best to date and we finally got to meet the final clerk, Moe. But before we get to her will discuss Matsukoma for a bit as the impossible happened to him, he received an offer for a regular office job!

Don't know where Matsukoma graduated from but it wasn't a very prestigious college, seemed he skated his way through and his favorite class was beer drinking! He's 24 in age and in the two years since he graduated he's received zero offers though he's applied to hundreds of companies. The 'Three-Seven' store was the only place he was offered a job during that stretch so he took it as it's better than nothing. But to his and everyone's surprise Matsukoma received an offer from what he thinks is a very elite company and he couldn't have been more mistaken. The name of the place was 'Dark Cloud Sales' which is a company at the bottom of the barrel.
Few of the other employees heard of it and advised Matsukoma to refuse the offer, to him though it was the beginning of riches and fame. But there was some warning signs before he began such as those certifications he needed which you can see above. Matsukoma felt though if he could just make it through the first few months he'll be set for life, seems like he has a good head on his shoulders but Matsukoma knew zero about the business world. An eight hour day soon turned into days double that amount, other employees there even sleep the night there as they've been assigned so much work.
Soon Matsukoma is going to pieces and he hasn't even been there two months. However two months was the finale as when he came into the office one day there was a notice on the door saying the company had gone bankrupt and was now closed. That was probably the best news for Matsukoma who looked like absolute hell, with no other options guess what his next step was? If you guessed reapplying at the store you're correct and the manager took him back with open arms. Seems the store's business has gone way up in his absence, so much that on Matsukoma's first day back there a new employee was starting which makes five(!) working the overnight shift.

First we've seen of Moe and wonder why she wasn't introduced until the seventh episode? She's a young gal who looks like she could be a cosplayer or an Idol though isn't either. At first glance the resident nerd Watari fell head over heels for Moe and he's already dreaming how the pair will be spending the rest of their lives together! Obviously he wasn't a person who could train Moe so chosen was Nii who as a Monk in training may not have romantic dreams. That's true but there is someone that does who you can see above and that's the nurse Kaede who visits the store every night.
Since that first second she laid eyes on Nii it was another case of someone falling head over heels in love, perhaps Kaede and Watari should hook up! Kaede was furious that Nii was training the newbie and was doing everything in her power to get Moe to quit. She donned a demon's mask a few times to frighten Moe plus hid out in the bathroom attempting to scare her so much that Moe would quit. That actually did work as after the first day at the store Moe was ready to tender her resignation. But once Manager and the other employees heard Moe's reason for leaving she was talked out of it as they assured her the store wasn't haunted and the incidents were all devious tricks by Kaede.
During this time there had also been an in store contest where a customer could pull a ticket out of a huge box and win that prize. Few customers did win a few small items but it was Watari aka 'Lottery Senpai' who got hooked and when he was off work would visit the store to purchase something so he could take a stab at the grand prize. No clue what it may have been as no person won it and sure it wasn't much of anything but to Watari winning anything may have been the sign riches were on his way. This turned out to be the longest recap of all and not sure why, it was a superb episode but not too much more happened than in previous shows.

Not much more to add in save for the fact as I've mentioned a few times before this drama is much better to view than to read about. Just so many small nuances and such which are hard to describe in just a few words, would recommend this series for those who enjoy offbeat, quirky shows. Following this post is the recap for episode eight.
