"Takane no Hana-san" drama: Episode seven recap

 

 Air Dates: April 10th until June 27, 2021 on TV-Tokyo, Thursdays at midnight

Main Cast: Most of the action takes place at the Mitsubachi Confectionary company in Tokyo.  Small cast as there's only four major characters.

Rika Izumi as Hana Takamane.... 32 year old planning department manager at the company. Though a bit older Hana has never been in a relationship and deep down has the maturity of a young teen when it comes to males. For some odd reason she has a secret crush on her young worker Yowaki who is kind of inept and unknown to Hana he also has a crush on her.

Yuki Ogoe as Tsuyoshi Yowaki.... About seven years Hana's junior but could pass for a seventeen year old. He is gung-ho about his work but Yowaki comes up with the oddest promo ideas which leads to Hana constantly putting him down.

Kenta Izuka as Genki Sarada.... Has the nickname of Charada. He's Yowaki's best friend at the company and thinks most woman in the world would die to date him which is far from the truth. Compared to Yowaki he is an excellent worker.

Kanon as Ichigo.... At ~21 in age is the youngest in the planning office, she's like Sarada as Ichigo thinks men would die to go out with her. She is insanely jealous of Hana's looks and really wants to bring her boss down which she's attempted a few times and all have ended in failures.

 No intro this time as I'm burnt out from writing so many recaps up recently, should be a shorter one as not as much took place in this episode. It's the day after Yowaki's first ever Takopa aka Takoyaki Party and he woke up with quite a hungover. Worse then that is where he woke up which was passed out on Hana's lap! Yowaki was stunned at what he had done and though Hana couldn't show it she enjoyed every second of Yowaki using her lap as a pillow. Not much was said as Hana had to leave, she did with Charada and Ichigo had already departed hours before as she thought a sleep walking Charada wanted to kiss her! But that walk home with Charada did clear up a few things he and we were curious about. 

 Charada can come off too strongly as a 'ladies man' but there's no better person on Hana's team when it comes to computers and technology. Charada had been surprised Hana hadn't chosen him to be her assistant on the new COP project and why did she pick Yowaki? Right then Hana silently wondered that herself and did she put her romantic feelings towards Yowaki above the project? She couldn't admit that to Charada and said Yowaki has some skills which no other employee has but bet she couldn't name them if asked. That didn't quite satisfy Charada though Hana did say he would eventually be on the COP project and not much work has gone into it so far.

 Think Hana also knows she needs to start progressing on the project and has set up a 9:00 am meeting the following day with Yowaki. But in the meantime Hana's daydreams about Yowaki are increasing, she even went into an odd one in the middle of the street while she was jogging. Also Hana's jealousy towards Ichigo seems to be increasing and instead of delving right into the COP project the next morning Hana couldn't stop asking Yowaki about his feelings towards Ichigo, has he fallen in love with her and are the pair now dating? 

 NO were Yowakis answers to both questions and he assured Hana he has no feelings towards Ichigo. It's true that she may be overly kawaii but he's never been attracted to Ichigo plus there had been no kiss with her at his Takopa party. In response to Hana's question above about using her lap as a pillow Yowaki admitted he was so ashamed about it. Even though he was so hungover it was still so excuse and Yowaki had come in that morning prepared to resign because of the incident! That shocked Hana who wasn't expecting Yowaki to do such a thing, but there's no way she can let her secret crush not be near her so told Yowaki there's no way she would accept his resignation!

 So everything seems to be settled, Hana still has her crush Yowaki working on the COP project and has ordered him to read over everything she's done before they continue with it. Outside the room listening into the entire conversation was Charada and the look on his face was one of total confusion. Wondering if he's like Ichigo and has finally caught on that Hana has that secret crush on Yowaki? Charada also didn't appear to be happy with what he heard and will he be like the above Ichigo where he'll now be making sure the pair never become a romantic couple?

 That brings us to the end and so little seemed to happen in this episode. Usually take over forty screenshots but only 35 for this show, hope the pace picks back up but on one bright note the story is becoming a bit more serious. Five more shows to go, will have the next two recaps in less than a week and then will end off with a trio of them.
