Nogizaka46: The revival of the.... Second Generation group posts....

The second generation were/are my fave group of members but by the end of April there will be only two remaining! Not going to be negative about management today but it's a bit of a known fact how save for one member the 2G gals never had the same opportunities as other members. But I've liked them so much and back in November 2020 began a monthly series featuring them. But that petered out in May of last year and that really didn't need to happen. What took place was that there so many graduations so there weren't too many things for posts. Plus two members who are such massive faves of mine have only had solo posts for since then though one did graduate two weeks ago.

Back in January 2020 there were nine second generation members still with Nogi out of an original eleven. Now by the end of April it'll be down to two which is kind of sad to me and I'll bet some other Nogi fans too. So the revival in the title is because I think there could be at least 2-3 more posts in the next two months and hopefully more. There's been zero group posts in at least seven months so there's some missed things from 2021 to post about. That original series wasn't all that popular compared to other Nogi posts and hopefully the last two members will stick around for a while to keep this series going. So of course at the top is Hinako who has had seven solo posts already this year. Will continue to have them but will also include some of her activities in these 2G posts. Not sure when her next post will be and those top two pics are from her new photobook.

Not many may remember but Ayane also has a photobook which came out in November 2020 and at 45,000 copies sold it was a decent seller. The big thing about the book is that it's been the final one not for a member graduating and wonder if it's because they're graduation books the sales have been much lower? Ayane has come such a long way in almost nine years, at one time she was such an introverted young female but has really come out of her shell. She's been in a drama outside of Nogi, appeared in nine stage plays and on March 5th will be hitting the age of 23.

No photobook for her mate Rena who just may be Nogi's smartest member and also so much busier than I thought. She has a popular radio show and also wrote a book which I'll discuss more in the next post in this series. Rena will be turning 25 in May and I really thought she would have graduated by now but her career seems to be going well. Back in March 2020 she graduated from Keio University which is why I thought she would have left but luckily she's stayed and hopefully for a while. She did center a B-side song on the 'Fingers Crossed" single from last year.

So won't be making these posts too massive as I'd like to see another 2-3 posts in the next two months if not more. There are plenty of things to get to since the last post in this series was done last May such as a few mag spreads, Nogi cards and just the usual assortment you see in Idol posts. Will start off with some Instagram pics from the past month, Ayane's ones are first and she really is such good friends with Hinako. Rena also has eight pics which are from the set of her Tokyo-FM radio show.

I would consider Mai to now be my #1 Nogi member of all time though she did graduate two weeks ago. Will continue to have solo posts for her but will also be including some things in these group posts such as older group spreads which many may have never seen. Included that bottom pic as it's a rarity to see members of Nogi and Hina together.

Have some brand new 'Nogi Fes' cards from the past two months, first for Ayane.

Of course this batch is then for Rena and have so, so many cards from 2021 to post.

This mini spread was in a recent Hinako post and is from the March issue of Bubka.

Rena is a part time writer for the Hanako magazine site, she always has plenty of pics there and will have them starting with the next post. This fine set is from the July issue of Bomb.

We've hit the end of this post and this spread is a new one from the February 23rd issue of Anan, will it be the final Hinako spread with her mates? Not easy finding videos of members together but following the pics is a short one from 2021 featuring the four members mentioned in this post....

  1. Give it a few more months or a year or 2 and 1st gen with 2nd gen will be leaving the group and there's 3rd gen leading both the 4th gen & 5th gen.

Just curious, you're still gonna keep up the posts up until 3rd gen is that correct? Will you be dropping the group posts after 3rd gen?

  2. There's four current 1st gen members left but now that there's the new position of vice-captain wouldn't be shocked if Manatsu leaves this year. Have been doing posts for the 3rd gen members Minami and Mizuki which will continue. Also for Yuki and for some reason there's been some graduation rumors about her recently which I hope aren't true so as long as she's in Nogi there will always be some posts.

  3. I see, so I'm guessing your Nogizaka posts will end at 3rd gen? No chance on any 4th gen or 5th gen?

Understandable, The group is really changing and not all fans especially fans of older gens prolly wouldn't stick anymore unless they have taken a liking to the future gens. They're like the new "AKB" of this age.

  4. Said many years ago I would be stopping at the third generation, the others are just too young for me which is the biggest reason I'm not as huge of a Nogi fan these days.
