Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Mai Shinuchi: Someone has to keep the Nogizaka graduate flame burning....

That title is sadly true and bet some Nogi fans may have noticed that too. Outside of Mai there hasn't been a post for a graduate in over two months but a recent grad is someone I'll keep trying to have posts for. So there's a trio of Nogi members who had so many posts after they left the group and could have done at least one post for all of them the last two months. It's a bit difficult to explain but their activities and pictures these days have become so bland, doesn't matter if they're mag spreads, modeling pics or appearing at events. Not that any need to dress skimpy but their fashion style leaves a lot to be desired these days and they need some pizazz in how they look.

They're not the only faves who have gone through that 'drab/bland stretch' as it's happened to many of the women I really like but usually the drabness doesn't happen with ex-Idols. Can't see Mai going through that phase for she was one of Nogi's most interesting members and still has a lot of variety in her activities. She's been so smart about her graduation, way too many Idols take a long breather and are forgotten about, not her as Mai is as busy as ever.

So when Mai graduated on February 10th said a goal was to have a monthly post for her as long as possible. This makes three monthly posts since her departure and know there will be a post for both May and June, hopefully they'll continue after that. This makes eight posts since December 1st so this should be the first year she'll crack the top ten on the yearly fave's list. Not sure about being number one though, it's not impossible as no one else has a commanding lead at this point and if posts like this can continue the rest of the year then she could be the woman to beat....

Mai's next post will be on May 1st  it'll be for her second photobook that came out on January 20th. Try to wait at least three months before posting '46' books and to me it's one of Nogi's best books to date. Have posted many pics from it but bet less than half, here's some you may not have seen.

Another goal was to have all her 2021 Nogi cards posted. These came out in February for their 9th anniversary and also some others for that month, am almost caught up because there's just January cards left.

Mai always posted many Instagram pics when she was with Nogi but the amount has increased since her departure plus I think they look so much better.

Back in January Mai played the lead female role in the stage play "Atami Murder Case Last Legend". That was so popular a new version opened up on March 31st but only went on for a week which is the case for most plays these days. The day before it opened there was a special dress rehearsal and press conference for the play.

Batch of pics here are from a March 30th Walker Plus interview for the play where she also talked a bit about her future plans, here's the link to the site: Walker Plus interview

Have the video of Mai's February 10th graduation that took place at the Tokyo International Forum. In her last post had some screenshots from the first half hour which didn't really excite me that much. But the next half hour was ten times better and Mai was really, really liked by the other Nogi members. It's not a complaint but how I wish this will end up being subbed, be a long project but one I would love to see..... can't top the way she looks in a wedding dress!

Hopefully the member above will be having a post this weekend, noticed when the third generation members came on stage the energy level really picked up. April marks Mai's third anniversary as a Oggi model and she has so many more pics at their site these days which all rate an A++. After the pics is a short video from that 'Atami' stage play rehearsal.
