"Kamen Rider Geats" series: Episode eleven of ?? recap

Air Dates: September 4th until August 2023(!), Sunday mornings at 9:00 am on TV-Asahi
Screenwriter: Yuuya Takahashi     Subs done by Anon at NYAA

Main Cast: This will be an ongoing work in progress and this section may never be 100% complete! Most was written up after viewing the first episode though we didn't meet every character and sure a bit more will be added in for every show but hopefully most things will be known by the fifth or so episode. That did happen but the first contest ended in the ninth show and two new Riders will be added in for the 12th recap.  All of the riders are fighting an alien race called Jamato.

Desire Grand Prix rules

Not all about the game has been revealed yet but this is what's known after two episodes. The contest lasts for six months, during it a Kamen Rider gets points with the most being for killing the alien Jamatos. Points can also be earned for saving human lives and other acts of heroism but not as many as slaying a Jamato. At the end of the contest the winner gets to choose what kind of world he wants to see exist, check on Ace below to see his wish as he won the last contest. Once a contest ends any person involved will have their memories reset and know zero about the contest and Jamato army so that person can live their live in peace. If they return for another contest those memories will return. The Jammer Area is a bit like an arena, when a battle goes on the action can only take place in this smallish area and it's forbidden to leave or attack outside of it. Will update this section too as we go along.

Hideyoshi Kan as Ace Ukiyo/Kamen Rider Geats.... He truly is an ace fighter though slightly arrogant and is the most current winner of the Desire Grand Prix. Ace had a very unique and selfish wish for his new world. It would be one where he would be the Star of Stars or in other words immensely popular and to say he has a huge ego would be an understatement! KR Geats has acquired too many weapons to count! He won this season's first Grand Prix in the ninth show and is now considered to be a Deza God.

Ryuga Sato as Keiwa Sakurai/KR Tycoon.... Newest Kamen Rider who was recruited at the end of the first episode. Keiwa is the younger brother of Sara and he was a college student who had been looking for work with no success.  His weapon is a powerful Armed Arrow, also has acquired a Booster Buckle which makes weapons even more powerful. His wish if he wins the current Grand Prix is to have world peace.

Yuno Hoshino as Neon Kurama/KR Nago.... She was also recruited at the end of the first episode and is the youngest Kamen Rider. Neon comes from a very wealthy family and until becoming a 'superhero' had been a very influential celebrity influencer, especially among high school girls. Her weapon is an Armed Hammer. If Neon wins the Grand Prix her wish is to find her 'true love' of the world!

Kazuto Mokudai as Michinaga Azuma/KR Buffa(buffer).... Think the Buffa is actually short for Buffalo and he is as tough as one! He has two weapons, one being a Water Shooter and obtained his second from KR Dapan which is a Magnum. But actually these weapons change hands so often am having a hard time figuring out who has what! If Buffa wins the Grand Prix his wish is to see.... all Kamen Riders eliminated(!).... but would he be killed too? Buffa now has a Zombie Buckle, why not a true weapon it does provide protection.

KR Riders Dapan, Merry and Ginpin have been killed or eliminated from the contest.

The others of the cast, don't think many more will be added in

Kokoro Aoshima as Tsumuri.... Navigates the Grand Prix as far as figuring out the points and other tidbits go but don't know enough about her yet.

Shugo Oshinari as Girori/Game Master.... Just added him in for the ninth episode though he's been part of the cast since the beginning. Giroro runs the rest center the Riders go to during their breaks from fighting the Jamato army. But we learned in the eighth show he's also the masked man Game Master who is Tsumori's superior but is there someone above him?

Nene Shida as Sara Sakurai.... My main reason for watching this show! She's the older sister of the newest Kamen Rider Keiwa and works as an OL. Their parents were killed over a decade ago in an accident.... that's what she thought until this episode seven.

Previous recaps:

It's not important to read all of these but would recommend the first two episodes as so much was explained and won't always refer back to those things.

Will be referring to the Riders as KR (name).

Don't think this will be the best Kamen Rider series I'll have viewed but it's settled down to be a decent show and a lot of things are being thrown at us viewers which has kept it interesting. The first nine episodes were for a Desire Grand Prix contest, they last for six months and the Rider with the most points is declared the winner. For the second time in a row Ace aka KR Geats has come out on top and he's practically unbeatable as he's both a superb fighter and one intelligent young man. Perhaps Ace has won more than twice but we don't know what may have happened in the contest besides the last two challenges. The winner of the Grand Prix gets to choose what kind of world they want to live in. For winning again Ace has chosen a world where the two staff from the Grand Prix are his family.. That's turned out to be Girori, the secret Game Master, and Tsumuri, the game's navigator, are now Ace's father and sister!!!!

All is working out somewhat well but tensions are a bit frayed at being a family. In the second screenshot Girori asked Ace how long this 'charade' will keep up but he received no answer. But what's upset Girori to an extent is Ace's wish if he wins yet again another Desire Grand Prix, the latest contest started in the prior episode. Ace's wish this time around is to become a staff member of the contest and that's something Girori does not want to see happen. As a matter of fact he's recruited a 'spy' who is KR Punk Jack to thwart Ace from winning another contest but that may prove to be impossible! In that bottom screenshot above Ace is meeting up with Neon aka KR Nago. She knows that Ace's grand wish is to locate his mother and we have no idea what happened with her. Neon asked why didn't Ace put as his wish to have his mother returned but according to him that doesn't appear to be possible. When a Rider enters a contest they write down what their wish would be if they won, twice Ace has written he wants to be reunited with his mother but twice that wish was rejected, that's the main reason Ace wants to become a staff member of the Grand Prix.

In that first batch of screenshots in the second to last pic was Keiwa with his older sister Sara. He was a Rider in the first contest known as KR Tycoon but was 'retired' after the eighth episode for he was too injured to continue but 100% positive he'll be returning as a Rider very, very soon. He's been job hunting and soon after got on a bus to attend an interview, on that bus was the driver and two young passengers. Shortly after that the bus was sucked down into the ground(!) which you can see above, seems they've been transported to a pocket dimension according to Tsumuri. But so hasn't she and the current Riders somehow been teleported there and this makes up the second battle in this latest contest. The first battle was called the 'Pirate Game', a brutal war as only five of 25 Riders survived. This time around the contest is called Escape the Labyrinth and this will be their toughest battle to date. Besides defeating the Jamato army the Riders also each have to protect one of the passengers from the bus as they're civilians, so isn't Tsumuri so she needs to be protected also.

The setting is a huge mansion and the only escape route is through a very large and thick steel door. The only way to open it is by a code, it appears after a while that Ace aka KR Geats has solved the code but hasn't attempted to try to escape by the show's end. Though Keiwa had been KR Tycoon he has no recollection of being a Rider, he won't unless he's drafted again. Which I expect to happen soon but both KR Geats and Nago remember him very well. Up to now the Jamato creatures have been somewhat easy to defeat but KR Geats has noticed how much stronger and tougher to beat they've become, especially after they defeated twenty potential new Riders. This is the strongest army to date and to add a bit of humor in this current army is dressed as maids of the mansion! Save for two that is and in an unexpected twist two of the Jamatos have transformed into Kamen Riders! How is that possible and these 'fake' Riders are much more stronger than the current team of Riders though of course probably not KR Geats.

Back at the Rider's main HQ we did learn something very interesting about the Game Master Girori and the Jamatos, at least it was a primer. He too was shocked that a pair of Jamatos had become Riders and quickly made a call to an old man at a greenhouse. Girori demanded to know what was going on with the Jamatos but this unnamed man could give no info. To me this old man knows what's going on but won't reveal his devious plans(?). In a very odd scene it appears this man is.... growing the Jamatos at the greenhouse and they're not true aliens?!!!! So that also could mean Girori is also the leader of the Jamato army and what a strange twist was added to the story but no more of it was mentioned. Forgot to add in that the four on the bus have had some sort of scarf tied around their necks and are unable to take them off. When a Jamato gets close to one of these four civilians the scarf begins to choke them, if a creature gets too close it may just kill them! That's what KR Geats has deduced so ordered everyone to enter the mansion as the battle had been taking place on the estate's grounds.

KR Punk Jack's mission is still to defeat KR Geats and somehow knock him out of this current Desire Grand Prix contest. That's still his goal but with such a powerful Jamato army saving his own skin is his #1 priority, he's also Tsumuri's protector in this contest. In the middle screenshot is KR Buffa who overheard KR Punk Jack talking about knocking KR Geats out of the contest. Since the first episode KR Buffa has hated KR Geats to no end but with what he overheard will he now become an ally of his hated enemy? With two Jamatos becoming Riders Girori knew his team needed to become more powerful so sent new weapons to the Riders, all though save for one were taken by the Jamato Riders. One that did get through was called a Golden Fever Buckle which KR Geats used, it's similar to a slot machine you would see in a casino. It's an odd weapon but KR Geats used it successfully and for now has been able to keep the Jamato army at bay. Whew, that brings us to the end of this episode which will continue on into the next show and so much happened in just 23 minutes. For now didn't enter in the bio section the new characters of KR Punk Jack and KR Keirou, will do that for the next recap as I still want to see if they'll be around for a while and still don't know much about either one of them. The next pair of recaps will be in two weeks and plenty of screenshots as usual to follow the action a bit better.
