Koe Girl drama: Episode three recap

Air Dates: April 8th to June 10, 2018 on TV-Asahi for ten episodes, aired at 2:30 am Saturdays

The main cast....

Haruka Fukuhara as Makoto Kikuchi.... Parents run a green grocery where she was scouted by Oshima and has struggled greatly at the beginning to be a voice actress(Seiyu).

Yurika Nakamura as Asami Kuriyama.... The best of the five females who are trying to become voice actresses, disliked Makoto at first for her lack of dedication.

Mariya Nagao as Ren Ineba.... Massive Otaku fan, especially for the 'Precure' series.

Jun Amaki as Konatsu Morimoto.... From Kansai and too often speaks in that dialect.

Aoi Yoshikura as Ryoko Ochiai.... Former child actress making a comeback as a voice actress.

The others, it's a very small cast so far and will add to the list if needed.

Haruka Tomatsu as herself.... Ex-voice actress who now hosts a popular radio show.
Shingo Tsurumi as Yuichiro Oshima... Head of Ihara Productions where the girls work.
Masaki Nakao as Katsutoshi Shoda.... Oshima's assistant.

Originally started this drama when it first came out back in April 2018 and even recapped the first two episodes. The third show was subbed and said I would continue once more were done. However those subs weren't coming or at least at the time they weren't as I think the team doing them dropped the project. Forgot about the drama for a long time but then discovered the whole series was subbed and am really glad about that as it seemed like such a fun show.
So am doing the first two recaps over as the others were done such a long time ago. For now the plan is to do two batches of five recaps in a row as the series has ten episodes. The shows are only 23 minutes long so these shouldn't be too lengthy which will make reading them much easier. Really had wanted to see another series with Haruka who is the star of the show and has 80% of the screen time, she's one superb actress. Will leave this intro up for this first batch but may tweak things here and there, let's get to the third of these five recaps.

Things may be looking up for Makoto as at the end of episode two she was called back by a producer after an audition after failing at about twenty of them. That man is above, his name is Sonaga and he does try to promote Makoto in this and a bit of the next episode. However he didn't call her up for a second audition but instead to be an extra in an anime. What that means is there's a group of other voice actors who stand at the microphones making noise such as a crowd would at a concert.
Which is what the setting was as there were five other Seiyu's there who had to scream and cheer for their favorite singer at a concert. Though a small part Makoto went all out and outshone everyone with her screaming and enthusiasm. She impressed Sonaga so much he lined her up for a few other roles to be an extra in his animes. While not huge roles Makoto had to start somewhere and perhaps another producer would notice her talents.
Someone did who was a friend of Sonaga's and wanted Makoto in his next anime. However it was another small part as at first she just had two lines in it but they would be her first two lines ever in an anime. Makoto's other housemates are also attending many auditions but don't think they've received as much work as Makoto has. Once again we don't see much of them in this episode but starting with the next show they'll be taking turns having an episode devoted to them.

'Girl G' is the name of Makoto's character, as mentioned she only had two lines but she's jumping for joy and is really gung-ho at the session. Too gung-ho as the producer was getting fed up with Makoto's delivery as she was overacting and not saying those two lines how they should be said. If it wasn't for the producer Sonaga who was present Makoto would have been let go after five minutes. The producer of the anime seemed impressed enough with her voice so is willing to give Makoto one more chance the following day.
Makoto didn't heed all of the advice that Haruka has been giving her with the main one being reading the entire script. Makoto had spoke her two lines as if it was a teen comedy when it was actually a satire with Makoto's character actually disliking her on screen friend. It's not how much you practice Makoto discovered but how and what you practice as she's prepared the next day to ace the session. Which is what she did, though only two lines the producer was impressed enough where he may call her back again for future episodes and Makoto did show she knew how to adapt.

It happens sometimes where a recap is incredibly short which is the case today and think the following ones may also be. Besides Makoto's session in voicing the two lines very little happened in this show though wouldn't call it boring at all. What made this recap so short is that we didn't see enough of the other four gals save for one scene with Asami who tried making dinner for her housemates and flopped horribly.
The following three episodes we'll end up seeing less of Makoto as the other girls finally will be the focus in the episodes but for now just have the next two shows after this recap. For the most part do prefer viewing Korean dramas though writing the recaps at times can be such a chore as they're so long. So am not complaining in the least about how short these recaps are which has allowed me to zip through watching the episodes, two more recaps to go in this marathon.
