Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Bae Suzy: Few recent events....
Have two more spots to go on this year's faves list. Thinking I'll have number one on Tuesday which is Christmas Eve and it'll be a nice present for her. Number two will be done this weekend, not sure what day but if there's nothing new to post about tomorrow will do it then. Bit of a slow period for Japanese actresses but not for their peers in Korea who have a lot of awards shows the final week of the year so you may see a few posts for my Korean faves and it's been a slow year for them.
Suzy finished seventh on the list but going in thought she'd be around the fifth position, had there been a list last year she would have made the top five. Not a slow year for Suzy though not as busy as previous years which may have hurt her a bit. But she usually attends some of those awards shows so I expect another post for her soon, actually already have the makings of another post.
Not sure what I want to do about the "Vagabond" drama. Have been including some screenshots and a very brief recap in her posts, am enjoying the series but am getting tired of writing such long recaps. But if I only include pics in her posts it'll take so long to finish it so need to think of something to do.
In the drama Suzy plays an INS agent named Go Hae-Ri who is assigned to the Korean embassy in Morocco. In the first episode there was a plane accident where all 211 passengers and crew were killed, at first it appeared to be an accident but now it's about to be classified as a terrorist attack. There's a man named Cha whose nephew at been on the plane, he's sworn he's seen a passenger who was in a video shot on the plane, Cha thinks he's still alive and was the terrorist. Hae-Ri ended up getting united with Cha and the pair are working loosely together.
In the third episode it turned out her partner Kim had been working with the terrorists, he ended up taking a poison pill before he could admit anything. Hae-Ri at first was skeptical about it being a terrorist attack but after listening to the planer's black box firmly believes that was the case. So much is happening it's hard to squeeze everything into two paragraphs so will try to think of a way to do a few longer posts for the show which is really an exciting watch. These are from the first half of the third episode so as you can imagine that so much is happening in the show.
What there's been a lack of this year is Suzy modeling pics or appearing in magazine, seems she's been at the same amount of events. Bad time of the year for new modeling pics and have no new mag spreads so will go back in time with an excellent set of pics which are from the July, 2016 edition of Bazaar.
Suzy appeared at an event today but won't have those pics as I'm saving them for her next post which I hope is very soon. Suzy's latest film is titled "Baekdusan" which like "Vagabond" appears to be an action packed watch. On December 16th there was a red carpet VIP screening of the movie at the Lotte World Mall Atrium in Seoul, kind of dressed like a detective.
The film had it's premiere yesterday at the Yongsan CGV in Seoul. Suzy as usual looked so alluring but have noticed she's been a bit more conservative this year or perhaps it's because it's now Winter time. Plenty of fine pics from the event and following them is a video which is subbed in English.
