Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: Their majestic first '2020 magazine scans' post plus more....
Thank goodness for Nogi or not sure there would have been a regular post tonight. It's that time of year when there aren't too many activities but do have some things planned for this weekend such as a wrap up post for this year's top twenty list. Plus I'll have one for the most viewed posts of 2019 along with two for who the most popular faves were for 2019 according to you viewers so a few interesting posts will be coming up. This may be Nogi's final post of the year and it's going to be one of their largest ones, if I was smart would save a few pics for another post before January 1st hits. But the key words were if I was smart which is something I definitely am not so will have all of their new pics in this post and bet the total is well over a hundred.
Am starting off with someone that hasn't been mentioned for a long time who is Himeka, time flies as she's been gone from Nogi for 25 months. I always liked her so much, what a shame that she never had a photobook nor really did a gravure spread, she was truly one underrated hot member. These days she's attending Waseda University and have a brand new interview from the school that's in English, really worth a read.... Himeka interview
While not a huge amount of variety the happenings all have many pics save for this first batch. Just had a spread from Bomb magazine a few posts ago but unsure if it included this duo. These are outtake pics from the mag's Twitter site, one of the gals is captain Manatsu and we've been seeing more of her than ever lately. She's joined by Hinako who is so close to being my #1 Nogi member and actually I just may give her that honor going into the new year. Will check if that spread was posted, if not will have it soon and what are they really drinking in the bottom pic?
I'd say my number three Nogi member would be the other Mai, once again she's not in a spread for today but she often has many kinds of other pics. Such as these today from the andGirl site, four pics from them along with four from the Oggi site following them. Last up are some pics of her hosting yesterday's 'All Night Nippon' radio show.
Do have a lot of Nogi concerts on DVD and this past month have watched so many of them. At least eight and do I miss so many of the graduated members as all of the concerts are from February 2017 and before. One new member though who I truly like so much is Minami, for so long she had so many pics in these group posts but hardly any recently. Once again no new ones for today so have a small batch of X-Mas pics to enjoy.
Now on to the new mag spreads but will be ending off with an event. Was planning on having a solo post for Misa who graduated at the end of March but decided against it and will just have any new pics for her in these group ones. She has a photobook coming out very soon, about two weeks from now and this spread from the December 31st Flash is promoting it.
Also in that Flash issue was this group spread.
For the years 2017 and 2018 Asuka won awards for being the Idol who appeared on the most mag covers. Don't think she'll pull a trifecta as she really slowed down on her spreads last year but the last solo spread I had for her was her #1 set of pics to date, where is her second photobook? Asuka has the cover for this set that's from the January 11th issue of Weekly Shonen Champion.
The Idol that may won the award for appearing on this year's most covers is Yuki and rarely does a post go by without a spread featuring her. She had one in the last group post which was easily her best one ever, this one is superb too from the January 13th edition of Young Magazine but she's joined by two mates which is more than okay, those two members are Erika and Manatsu. But you will notice the last few pics are of another trio who I'd like to see more of together as they were mates in the Undergirls for so long, two are still in that unit.
Thought there was one more spread but was mistaken on that. Will end off with a massive amount of 41 pics from an event that took place on Christmas day, Nogi has been at three events this past week and you usually only see that when they're releasing a single. The event was to announce a new Nogi program on the cable channel FOD which is titled 'Nogizaka Cinemas- Story of 46'. The show will air Wednesday's at midnight so guess last night was the first show, caught me by surprise but this appears to be one of their more interesting shows.
It's actually classified as a drama that will have ten shows and a member will be featured in every one. The theme for every show will be different such as Sayuri being an OL in her episode while Hinako goes back in time to become a high school student. Won't go into too much detail as I'd rather watch the shows and then recap them, would imagine they'd be subbed. As mentioned plenty of pics from yesterday's event which featured a quintet of members. It's also going to be airing on Fuji-TV, there is a promo of it at their YT site but it's unavailable to us in America. It just started last night so perhaps in the future there will be some videos that can be posted. Do have a video after the pics which is of the group doing "Sing Out!" on Monday's CDTV show.
