Never planned for having so many of these 'Blast from the past' posts but somehow since the beginning of October so many huge faves of mine have finally become busy after being dormant for so long. Think there's been at least six of these posts and there probably wasn't two for the first nine months. What's a bit odd is that two of these gals have been so close to being my #1 of all time though at a different time period. Here's the first person who actually is the one who I would have liked to see been number one on that all time faves list: KK
So obviously that means the other 'blast from the past' woman that came close to being my all time #1 is Akari. Sure many new viewers may not know her that well so it's worth checking out her older solo posts. In them mentioned a few times how she was my number one Idol for about a three year stretch up until late 2018. That was the last time she's had a solo post and though I don't mention it often have truly been bummed out about that. Akari's career with SKE has worked out very well as she is a popular Idol and bet she's made a decent amount of $$. I sometimes wonder though what would have happened if she joined Nogi instead? On one hand she may have had more chances to do many different activities such as more dramas or films but then again with so many Nogi members perhaps she would have been buried along with many others. We'll never find out of course but the lack of SKE and AKB activities this last year has definitely affected her career and so many of her teammates, that's also cost her the chance to be my #1 of all time but never say never.
2015-18. But since then there's been zero solo spreads until recently and really nothing else to post about, she does appear on many variety/quiz/talk shows but hasn't been doing too many interesting things and as I said have really been bummed out about that. 2018 was such a good year for Akari as to me had the second best photobook of the year and perhaps the top one for an Idol the past five years. She also finished second on the yearly faves list, knew she wouldn't be that high again but didn't expect to see her disappear.
Speaking of that fave's list I never had an official one for 2018. What happened is that the 'Top Twenty All Time Faves' list was done, the posts went from late August until October. That list really burnt me out so skipped that yearly list but have referred to it often. Did create a top ten list and will publish it this weekend. Am planning on having two intro posts for the countdown and in the first one will have the top ten list for 2018. Number one most viewers should know as it's been mentioned many times in her posts, now you know who #2 is. If you've been a long time visitor you should be able to figure out who most of the other eight will be.
What a slow year for SKE as that will be their only single for 2020, wanted to have some group posts or more solo ones but it's been impossible. Their next single will be coming out in March and fourteen months is way too long between singles, hope they don't lose too many fans. One thing SKE will be losing are two long time members whose 2020 graduations have been pushed back until the single comes out. Hate to see those two go but it does mean it'll be a while until other members leave so that means there's an excellent chance Akari will be one of the few Idols in history who will hit the age of thirty and be with a group, she turned 29 back on October 31st. Here's many recent blog/Instagram pics and these are better than 98% of the other blog pics you see.
To me, besides the down time for SKE, what's hurt Akari's career was that her 2018 photobook was a bit of a flop. About 30,000 books were printed but only a little over 15,000 copies were sold which I read didn't make the publisher too happy. Can't fault her for that as it was one tremendous PB and she is an extremely popular Idol in the '48' world so it is a mystery why it didn't sell more but that's been the case for way too many '48' member books. After that the mag spreads dried up and Akari had appeared in so many the previous five years which is why I recommend checking out her older posts but do have a pair of newish spreads today. Found two outtake pics recently from the photo shoot which may have been too good to leave out. Did say it was my #2 photobook from 2018, in case you missed the hotter than hot book here's the link to it: Akari's photobook
Will end off with a trio of mag spreads, know it's her first post in eons but there still hasn't been activities this year. This is an encore viewing from the February 2, 2018 issue of Flash as it may be Akari's top spread ever but then again she does have many quite close to it.
That bottom pic good be her top one in my opinion. Few years back Akari did a semi gravure spread dressed as a bride but couldn't remember when it came out, could there ever be a more alluring bride? Someone remembered that as she had the cover of the Winter edition of Compal Wedding, that has five pics and to me the better ones are after the spread from the photo shoot.
.... December issue of EX-Taishu. It's only a five page spread but it's her first solo gravure set in two years, she looks so perfect and let's hope it's the start of many more spreads in this vein. I'll bet Akari has had at least 25 gravure spreads over the years and actually that total is probably higher, can't believe there's never been one video of any of the photo shoots as all other SKE members have them.
