"Work Later, Drink Now" Korean drama, episode two recap

Air Dates: October 22nd until December 10, 2021 Friday nights at 10:00 pm on tVN.

Main Cast: The three main female leads are 29 in age and have been close friends since college. The top two are roommates and it's hard to explain fully how much they love to drink, every episode should revolve around that pastime. Just five regular characters but there are some guest stars in every episode.

Lee Sun-Bin as An So-Hee.... She works as a variety show writer and is the most 'mature' of the trio but can also be the most frightening. Like her two close friends enjoys her Soju lukewarm instead of ice cold.

Han Sun-Hwa as Han Ji-Yeon.... What an attractive woman she is and in this show is so vain about her looks. Ji-Yeon works as a yoga instructor and is a bit of an airhead, she can hold her liquor better than her two mates as she seldom has hangovers.

Jung Eun-Ji as Kang Ji-Gu.... The quietest of the three yet also the most eerie. Ji-Gu never smiles and her 'job' is creating Origami on her YouTube channel, don't know how she makes any money off it and that could be why she lives in a small attic apartment.

Choi Si-Won as Kang Buk-Hu.... Is a TV producer who works with So-Hee and the two are always at odds with each other. Think he may become their fourth drinking teammate.

Kim Jung-Min as Hwang.... Owner, cook and bartender of the House of Five Blessings where the women often go to get a bit tipsy as only he can put up with their shenanigans.

These episodes usually have a theme to them, the first was the man who had a blind date with all three of her hearty drinkers. The next show deals with the consequences of the women drinking too much and that carried over a bit into the fourth show. But this episode really had no main story to it as 70% of what took place were the friends drinking at various restaurants, they do always eat when they're consuming alcohol. Lukewarm Soju by far is their favorite drink but they'll try anything as long as there's alcohol in it! The man above is a main character who we didn't meet in the first episode, his name is Kang who is the producer for the variety show So-Hee is the main writer for.

In this episode he was demanding the staff cut down on expenses for that variety show, such as why do they need to be fed such expensive Gimbap during their meals? Few other suggestions were thrown about but one thing that would not be cut from the budget is the staff lunches which So-Hee got roped into attending. She doesn't appear to have many friends at the TV station, especially Kang for now but So-Hee's fellow workers were wondering if she was having an affair with him! That sent her into a rage and So-Hee is one woman you don't want to anger, that rumor was slightly defused but she left the luncheon in a huff. Things weren't going so well with Ji-Gu either whose 'job' is teaching Origami on her YT channel, still don't know how she can make enough money to survive as she and her mates spend so much on alcohol each day. Ji-Gu has many trollers on her site, one got her so infuriated she actually went to the person's house only to find out it was a twelve year old boy!

Our third 'heroine' is Ji-Yeon, that's her above in the pink and she's a yoga instructor. Her classes are usually full but doesn't seem most of the women, who are much older,  really care for Ji-Yeon who is such an airhead plus loves the attention men give her. Ji-Yeon has let a few males enroll in her class and she's quite vain about her looks but then again have to say she's one alluring woman. So those older women gave Ji-Yeon so much negative feedback about the new men in class it upset her to the point there was only one thing to do.... join her mates for a night of drinking! Which is what took place and the trio visited a new beef restaurant in the neighborhood.

Ji-Yeon is an airhead though a slightly conniving one, she's managed to get the trio many free drinks and meals over the years. Above is Ji-Gu telling her friend don't pull that scam tonight but that didn't stop Ji-Yeon who told the owner she found a toenail in her meat! Of course the man was so apologetic and offered to put their meal on the house but Ji-Yeon refused that offer. She told the owner they'll pay for the meal and instead want their Soju free, thinking the women could only drink two bottles he readily agreed. But this man had no clue how many bottles of Soju they could consume, before the night was out the trio had polished off twenty of them!!!!

But after all of that drinking the gals were once again hungry, where do they get all this money to go out every evening? They made a pit stop at a convenience store to drink more Soju along with having a few snacks. But that got them even more primed up and soon they found themselves in another restaurant downing more Soju along with some food, this time Ji-Yeon didn't pull any scams. When you drink that much the next morning is often a painful one, above you can see So-Hee and Ji-Yeon who woke up the next morning in their hallway! Ji-Yeon doesn't get nearly as hung over as her two mates but at her yoga class later on that morning the women were wondering where the smell of alcohol was coming from!

That bottom screenshot was a sign that So-Hee had noticed when they were bar hopping. It was a new eatery that was selling Gimbap that was 500 won less than her producer Kang was paying, she's kind of a hero as he won't be cutting the budget for lunches. So that ends this recap and as I mentioned in the first one this is such a fun show, serious to an extent but also quite off the wall. I highly recommend this drama and the episodes are only 27 minutes or so in length. Have viewed the next two shows but won't be doing posts for them until the end of next week as a holiday is coming up.
