Whew, big cast and there are more characters whose names will be added if their roles get bigger. As is my norm with 32 episode dramas will be recapping four shows at a time with two in each recap. Keep saying that rom-com's aren't my cup of tea yet seems I've been watching more in that genre lately than any other Korean drama. It's been a hit or miss with them but so far my hit rate is much higher than the failures. To date will count this one as a big hit as I really enjoyed the first eight episodes but it is hard to keep things interesting for 32 shows, wish they would decrease the number to twenty for some series. There's quite a few videos on YT for this series such as ones with interviews, behind the scenes and trailers, will have a different one for every post.

That top screenshot is how the sixth episode ends as Ki-Joo looked absolutely amazing. Been flying through this series, usually I'll watch four episodes a week but in three days have viewed eight of them as this is a surprisingly enjoyable drama. The ratings in Korea were only so-so for it and have those figures at the top plus it seemed many other viewers couldn't get into it. For some reason those tend to end up being my fave dramas and hopefully the fast pace of this show can keep up.
No real cliffhanger to bring us into this pair of recaps but it wasn't quite official yet that Gal-Hee had been hired back as Min-Ik's personal secretary at TnT Media. But it's official now for as you can see Gal-Hee has written a contract up and one where she's allowed the slightest of freedoms. Such as only having to work eleven hour days(!) and not having to do personal errands among other things. Gal-Hee was in seventh heaven with these new 'perks' but as she was told by the executive secretary Eul-Wang towards the end of the episodes those 'perks' are still horrific and no other secretary still does as much work as Gal-Hee does.
But on to more pressing matters such as the attack that took place on Min-Ik at the end of the second episode. He had been scheduled to meet his best friend Dae-Joo that night on his boat but his buddy was a no show with no call. But there was a visitor who was a masked man whose one intention was to harm Min-Ik, unknown if he had been sent to kill him. But luckily Min-Ik was able to thwart the attack thanks to Gal-Hee who happened to be passing by, passing by because her aim too was to hurt Min-Ik! More of the details are in the previous recaps.
But CCTV footage had captured two scenes of Dae-Joo after the attack. One was showing him wandering around looking for someone, the other was with him talking to Min-Ik's assailant! The police dragged him in for questioning with Min-Ik and Gal-Hee present, she needs to be with her boss wherever he goes to identify people for him. Dae-Joo smoothly talked his way out of any accusations, he appears to everyone to be such a nice chap but is he really? His explanation for not showing for the meeting was that his secretary Eul-Wang had an emergency, later this came out as a lie. Dae-Joo added he just happened to bump into the suspect and only talked with him because his phone had died, kind of flimsy excuses which the police didn't fully believe. But Min-Ik did as
Dae-Joo has been his best friend for 27 years, for now he asked the police to drop the investigation.

Second from the bottom screenshot is of Min-Ik's uncle Hae-Yong who is still pent on bringing down his nephew and getting back the role of TnT Media's president. Who he was talking to was his personal secretary Ha-Ni, her role gets a bit bigger and what he asked her to do was get info on that attack suffered by Min-Ik. If it wasn't Dae-Joo who had set it up then odds are looking good that it may be the uncle.
But the biggest event that took place early on was finally meeting the fourth main character who is Veronica Park, she had been in America during the first four shows. She is such a diva to put it mildly but has had great success in putting movies out, she's the main president of Cinepark which operates many theaters in Korea and is an actual name. It's a family company whose main head is Veronica's mother, we met her a few times and what any annoying woman she is too. And of all people Veronica happens to have a long history with.... Gal-Hee who before working with TnT Media had been her personal secretary. As bad as Min-Ik can be at times working with him is like a walk in the park for Gal-Hee who just couldn't stand working with Veronica.
Not many others can either as she seemingly has gone through a secretary every other week since
Gal-Hee left. Mentioned Ha-Ni above, for her to get info on Min-Ik's attack she decided to hang around more with Gal-Hee which makes sense and the pair spend a Saturday afternoon together.
Ha-Ni though is having no luck though getting any info out of Gal-Hee, she's not suspicious of her somewhat friend but by agreement is keeping the attack to herself. Ha-In had suggested taking in a film, the pair had been in of a Cinepark theater but Gal-Hee refused to enter the place.
That's where it came out about Gal-Hee once working with Veronica and what a nightmare it was, Veronica is also one of the more famous people in Korea. And who should come walking out of the theater why the pair are there but Veronica! Of course she recognized Gal-Hee immediately and went up to her old secretary to Gal-Hee's dismay, Veronica had also hinted around at Gal-Hee returning which was out of the question. Veronica is going to be playing such a huge art in the story for here on out but what an annoying character she is.

The previous night when Min-Ik had returned home he had a long talk with his mother. At 34 isn't it time for Min-Ik to plan on settling down and looking for a mate(?), his mother had the perfect person. That happens to be Veronica whose mothers knew each other and want the pair to become an item.
Min-Ik's mother had given him a picture of Veronica without mentioning her name, when she asked her adopted son if he knew who the famous woman was he naturally answered yes. But with Min-Ik unable to see faces all night he was in a panic on who he was supposed to be dating, the next day at work he asked Gal-Hee if she knew her and that bottom screenshot is from that scene.
Min-Ik is still 100% dependent on Gal-Hee for identifying the faces of others. The condition has become so bad she's still the only face he can see and you wonder if he'll ever ask Gal-Hee to move into his house as he has such problems outside of work. Min-Ik had finally got around to asking his doctor Gu why she's the only person he can see. Gu had said for some reason her face is the only one embedded in his mind but that's not actually the case. Min-Ik had asked Gal-Hee to change her clothes, she had taken off her red sweater, shirt, skirt and glasses to put on his suit. When Min-Ik then looked at her the face was like all of the others and was just an unrecognizable blob so the key to Min-Ik seeing Gal-Hee's face is what she's wearing.
Perhaps there will be good news in the future as a very skilled doctor is returning to Korea, one that has had a little experience in treating patients like Min-Ik but that doesn't happen until the next recap. Back to the infamous Veronica and what Min-Ik has asked Gal-Hee to do is get in touch with her to set up a meeting or more accurately a date for him. Gal-Hee kept it hidden from Min-Ik that she had previously been Veronica's secretary, to her reluctance she called Veronica's new secretary and set up a date for the Friday at the Kingdom Hotel for 9:00 pm.

Lot does happen in this series but for some odd reason can make these recaps a bit shorter and can breeze right through these and bet many enjoy reading shorter posts. It's quickly Friday, the day of Min-Ik's first encounter with Veronica but Gal-Hee won't be around to help out. Seeing as how Veronica knows her so well Gal-Hee would have had no chance to help her boss out so Gal-Hee had asked her four secretary friends out for a night on the town with all expenses on Gal-Hee.
Gal-Hee isn't someone who goes out often and wasn't dressed for a night on the town as her mates had planned on visiting a few clubs and discos. They came prepared though and before hitting any place they began to spruce up Gal-Hee, they were almost finished with their transformation when Gal-Hee received an urgent call. It was from Veronica's secretary who told Gal-Hee that her boss was late and just heading to the Princess Hotel. 'Princess Hotel?' Gal-Hee screamed, it was supposed to be the Kingdom Hotel and how did things get so messed up? In a panic Gal-Hee flew away from her friends to head to Min-Ik's hotel which was Kingdom but at least her friends had finished up with Gal-Hee who now looked so ravishing.
It's a good thing too as the hotel is a four star place and looking like her usual self wouldn't have gained her admittance. Before we get into her adventure let's see what happened to Veronica who had been sent to the wrong hotel to meet Min-Ik. She wasn't going to be alone for at the Princess Hotel was none other than Min-Ik's best friend and also an exec at TnT Media, Dae-Joo. Veronica was a bit surprised at this encounter but sat down with Dae-Joo who had an offer to propose her. What it was will remain unknown as the sixth episode was coming to a close and the scene will be played out in the next recap. But we did learn that it was Min-Ik's devilish uncle Hae-Yung who had set up this meeting, does he now have Dae-Joo in the palm of his hand?
At the Kingdom Hotel Min-Ik had been sitting around patiently for the arrival of Veronica. A woman did show up for her but was naturally not her but instead his personal secretary Gal-Hee! With Min-Ik unable to see faces clearly he didn't know it was her plus she wasn't wearing her usual sweater, skirt and glasses so to Min-Ik this could have been Veronica. Gal-Hee even disguised her voice to sound like the whiny Veronica, for now Min-Ik is buying the act and like the above happening also gets played out more in the next recap. But have to say how fabulous Gal-Hee or more accurately Ki-Joo looked, unbelievable is an understatement and she truly deserves a few more solo posts.

Not much more to add in about this series, it's one that'e been enjoyable since the first show but have slowed down a bit on viewing it with the holiday and all. But will get back on track after writing up the next recap which is the post just below this one. So far there's been no filler through eight shows but it's hard to keep that up for 32 episodes but let's hope for the best.
