Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Yuki Kashiwagi: New dazzling Big Comic Spirits spread and slightly more....
Unfortunately the 'slightly more' is just one thing but at least they're a superb set of pics from a recent event. This is Yuki's 75th post which is an impressive total for an Idol as almost all have been solo ones featuring just her, eight of them were from a pair of dramas she starred in. But the posts have really come to a crawl as Yuki only had one for 2019 and don't think there was a huge amount of them for the previous year.
Wouldn't surprise me if Yuki was a bit tired of the Idol world as close to half her life has been spent with AKB. She has vowed to stay until she hits the age of thirty which would be in July 2021 but these days does very little work with AKB. Then again Yuki has made a large sum of money these past five years and she can afford to take it easy and call the shots with her career. Did have a regular post for her back in December so if there can be a post every other month I'd be happy along with many of you viewers as she is one popular Idol around here.
She does have a special AKB cooking show that airs once a month but besides that 2020 has been another quiet year so far save for one event. Last month recapped Yuki's 2013 mini drama "Tagarin", mini as it only lasted about an hour though there were twelve shows. I'd like to see her be more active in dramas as I've always thought she was a decent actress and have enjoyed her series, she's had the lead role in three of them.
Yuki's mag spreads are among the best ever but do enjoy her more casual look at events. Back on January 16th she was at one for Softbank and their new 'LIVR' VR app. It's an app that could be bought and used at the '48' group's theaters and who wouldn't want to have a 'virtual encounter' with a few of the members?! It appeared she had such a fun time using the machine which can also be used on a smartphone but there's two others in attendance I'll talk about.
Miru has been a fave of mine for a while but she's someone who has slowed down on her activities quite a bit these past six months. No new solo mag spreads but am going to be working on a post for her which I hope to have this weekend, she's probably the most popular '48' member I currently post about often.
The other person I'll quickly talk about is Akari who like her two mates has been too quiet lately. It's been eons since her last solo mag spread, think just one last year after having about ten in 2018. Don't think I can do a solo post for her but will try to have one soon for SKE with hopefully some new pics of her. Have mentioned it before but if Akari was as busy as other Idols she very well could be my #1 of all time and that includes every fave from any genre, she sets the bar for hotness. The trio look so fabulous together, a mag spread featuring them would be out of this world....
Now to the main reason for today's post which is this tremendous set from the February 24th edition of Big Comic Spirits. Actually the spread is rather small at six pics but there are seven bonus ones. Yuki doesn't do nearly as many gravure spreads these days but least she looks superb in all of them, why hasn't she had a solo photobook since 2012? Have noticed in her spreads from the past two years that Yuki has become much thinner than she once was, still looks dazzling but gaining back a few pounds would make her look even more perfect. Following the pics is a video of the photo shoot which all fans will want to view.
