Welcome to this Baka's blog on his fave Japanese Pop Culture interests.
Welcome to my humble site....
Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: A little bit of this and that for 2020 #18....
Seems all of Nogi's group posts hit the top ten for views. But don't think all is 100% accurate as I have a feeling the ones that have this Mai start off don't seem to attract as many views and why would that be?! She's been among my three fave members for some time now and I've kind of run out of adjectives for her. She only begins off a post when there's no new pics for her which is the case for today. But will be having a solo post for Mai by the end of the month with hopefully some current pics, her 'greatest' ones from this year's posts and whatever else may have been missed.
Not a huge group post as there's only a few new activities but there's still about 65 brand new pics for today. But haven't there been more posts than ever for Nogi lately? The members just do so many different activities and have been enjoying those posts for their last '46 Hours TV Special', will have at least one more coming up. Also on the horizon will be another horror movie review from a 2014 film but can't believe "Eyes from 2015 has never been subbed.
Not going to get into today as it doesn't affect Nogi but then again it was their first sister group. Sure many have heard the news about Keya, am going to wait until the dust settles and more concrete details come out. Would say that'll be in their next group post but they've had only two since March but will try to work on something. At times I've been critical about Nogi's management but all in all they've usually made the right decisions save for the second generation members. But Keya's management has to be the worst of any major J-Pop group, how can such 'experts' be so incompetent?
Will be having 2-3 solo posts this weekend with more in the upcoming weeks. One will be for Miona who has now moved up to the second position on my 'Fave Nogi Members' list, also did a post earlier today for her appearance on the '46 Hours TV Special' show that aired in June. Hinako had one of those posts a few days and she may have two posts this weekend as tomorrow she'll be hitting the elderly age of 24! She's been my fave member for so long now and with Keya crumbling apart she just may have a chance at being my #1 current Idol.
The pair have been Nogi's closest pair for a while and keep debating on whether to do a few posts for their trip to New Caledonia which aired on Abema-TV. They were on the island for 2 1/2 days but as much as I adore the pair the shows were a bit lame. But perhaps I'll focus on certain segments as some were interesting. Such as their second night and they stayed at the resort's only five star hotel. There they discussed their friendship and the two weren't always very close. After the ninth single Hinako was dropped from the Senbatsu lineup which did affect their relationship. The same fate awaited Miona too and when both were Undergirls their friendship really blossomed. That was such a good segment and think I'll have the whole thing in a 'pairs post' for my fave duo.
Been finally been having many more pics for Erika in these posts but how I wish she could have a solo one as it's been over a year since her last one. Isn't it hard to believe she's only 23 yet she's starred in so many musical plays(ten?) the past five years. She's in a new one that's titled "Todoke Ai no Uta" but what's unique about it is that the play is streamed life as events like that still are a no-no in Japan. Erika just did a pair of interviews for the play and as you can see was dressed the same for both, top five are from Mantan Web while the others are from 'The TV.jp' site.
For the next few weeks don't think I'll be including Yuki in these group posts and just have solo ones for her. She's going to be in her first film "Grand Blue" which is coming out in August, there should be plenty of interview pics and such for her coming up so it makes more sense having solo posts for her. Do have a superb new mag spread for her and hopefully will have that very soon, this small set is form the August edition of Bis.
Here's a person who hasn't been mentioned in eons and that's Yumi. She graduated at the end of 2018 but seems these days she appears in more mags than when she was with Nogi plus is a model of Oggi. She's the cover girl for the July 27th issue of Young Magazine, could be her best set to date.
"Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!" was originally going to be released on May 15th but along with so many other films it was postponed. A new date for it has finally been announced which will be September 25th and still am hoping the subs for the drama get finished.
We've hit the end and one of the stars in the film is Asuka, she's not a terrific actress but did do well in the drama. Haven't seen too much of her this year in mags but she's the cover girl for the August issue of Bis. She's also going to be the center for a Nogi digital single coming out in eight days, will have more info in the next group post as I'm hoping for a video. The film has a brand new trailer which came out this week, you can view it after the pics.
