Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Hinako Sakurai: Finally the post to elevate her to....

.... superstar status here? Well, odds are definitely low on that but can guarantee this post should garner her a few new fans. That's because of pics like that above and will be ending off with many like that from an event that took place today. It's hard to believe as I'm so ga-ga over Hinako but this is her first regular post since July though did recap her entire 'Furo Gurl" drama. This is also her sixth post of the year which makes her eligible for this year's faves list but Hinako has had fourteen other posts for her dramas. Last year she was fifth on the fave's list and really wasn't that far away from being #1. My prediction for this year is a drop to tenth which is still very impressive. Not being as busy hurt her a bit but Hinako's drop is due more to the nine above her just being a bit more deserving, the quality of this year's top ten may never be topped on any list.

Sigh, wish she would stop her complaining, did buy her a rowboat to use! So often have mentioned how unpopular Hinako is here, not that she does have fans but her posts last year had the lowest average of views of any woman from Japan with six or more posts. Forget the exact number but think it was around 240 views her posts averaged in 2019. That put her in last place of the 28 gals with six or more posts, Hinako may be trailing the pack again this year but that average has increased to 305 views per post, that's 25% higher than last year so guess all of these posts have paid off slightly.

Hinako definitely doesn't have the looks or figure of a gravure model or Idol and perhaps that's why I adore her so much. She's actually quite popular in Japan but have a feeling it's because she has such a large fan base who are female. Except for the bottom batch have a small amount of pics for many recent activities, one is these September pics for Sega Sammy. As you can tell they're a sporting outfit company and she's a huge basketball fan. Bottom two pics are for her playing darts, there's a video on YT but won't post it as there's a different video to end the post off with. But here's a link to the 'Sportsdarts.jp' site if you want to see her going for a bullseye:  Dart video
The top pics are from an event held on September 8th, sadly there weren't more.

A month ago news came out about a new photobook and I was truly excited with that news. But my euphoria was short lived as it was just a mini digital PB and to date have just seen the cover for it but then again haven't done much scouring for any though will for her next post.

Hinako's third calendar came out three weeks ago, there was a semi event for it but the only pics were on her blog.

Hinako has a Line blog, she updates it about twice a week but wish it was more as the pics she has are almost always terrific and these are from the past month.

Whew, is that bottom pic a winner or what, wow! No recent mag spreads but do have some new fabulous kimono pics from the Iseya site.

We've hit the end and if you read through the entire post you will be rewarded with the top event pics of the year. Today Hinako was at the Oi Racecourse in Tokyo for their yearly tree lighting ceremony and she had the honor of throwing the switch. The course is near downtown and is called 'Tokyo Mega Illumination', the light show will be open for the remainder of the year. She had a grand entrance and to me Hinako has never looked better, she should be a bit more daring with her mag spreads. As said above these are my top event pics of the year and perhaps the last few years. After these sparkling pics you can view a video of the event.
