Glad I'm doing this final preliminary list a weekend early as I've been lagging a bit on doing posts for those that need one or two to qualify. Three in the top sixteen need one more post but not worried about that as all have one in the works which should be done by the end of the month. Then there's four others not on this list who also need one post to qualify and didn't make the top sixteen as I'm not positive they can get that post done to hit six. Six is the total needed for a year to be eligible, also that you need to be aged 21 or higher which isn't a tough criteria. One other thing is that past winners aren't eligible and the last two would have both mad the list.
For now it appears sixteen will be the number on this year's list versus the usual twenty. But that all depends on how many become officially eligible, if the total is over 25 then will have a list of twenty. Lot of shakeup since the last list was done on August 20th as three faves dropped out but they easily could make a re-entry. The huge shakeup was that every position changed except for #5, the main reason for someone moving way up or down is how busy they've been and whether they've had many posts. The past five weeks have seen a big increase in posts for my bigger faves which means a few have taken a huge leap, will have more tidbits in part two which is the post below this one.
There's no doubt the health situation has played a role in many faves not getting to six posts but won't change that criteria. So many in the top sixteen had ten or more posts with two more months to go in the year so if they can remain busy why can't others? The main people to get affected by the virus were actresses and mainly the ones from Korea. Ten on the list also were on last year's and that number could increase if a few get one or two more posts, nice to see most faves weren't one year wonders. One person who is very unlikely to make the list is Rena who since May has kind of disappeared. She needs two posts to qualify and have that sinking feeling it's not going to happen.
But if miracles happen and everyone gets to six posts at least 26 will be eligible and to me the higher the better. Will keep this list simple just as it was in the last one done on August 20th, think the official countdown will begin a week before November ends as one post every other day would then bring us to the end of the year. The list will be going from sixteen to nine in this post, eight to one in the next post. Will have their current position, what their old one was and a few comments.
#16.... Riho Yoshioka, unranked last time and was 13th on last year's list
Riho needs one more post to be eligible but that won't be a problem as I expect her to have three more by the end of the year. Her second photobook is coming out next month and do have a new post started but just waiting for a few more items. This is like last year when the first half was quiet but she had an extremely busy second half, could be her third time on a yearly list.
#15.... Yume Hayashi, 14th on the previous list
She also needs one post to become eligible and like the above do have one started for her. Yume has been quite consistent this year as she has a post about every seven weeks, she does have such a dazzling figure but her smile could melt an iceberg....
#14.... Kyoko Saito, 16th on the last list
Did implement a new rule this year for Idols which is that they needed just four solo posts as long as they had many pics in group posts. But didn't need to use that new rule and for a while thought it would affect her but she's now at six posts for the year. Kyoko is without a doubt the cutest gal on the list but #11 may have something to say about that. Every huge fave of mine has had a photobook in the last few years except for her, with their popularity can't believe Hina is releasing any for their members.
#13.... Park Eun-Bin, not ranked on the last list
But she was ranked on the first list done in June. Was hoping to have 3-4 Korean actresses on this year's list but the total will probably just be two. They've always been more difficult to post about than ones from Japan and this year it's been ten times as worse. Eun-Bin has been a busy gal though with starring roles in two dramas and she just has that alluring yet indescribable look about her.
#12.... Mio Imada, 11th on the previous list
Dropping or moving a position isn't too big of a deal, there's really not much difference between this and the sixteenth spot. It's when you move into the top five or so where one position is quite huge. No real reason for Mio for dropping one spot but then again she hasn't done much to increase her ranking, can see her finishing right around 12th and last year she was ninth on the list.
#11.... Hinako Sakurai, eighth on the previous list
Dropping three spots though is kind of big and usually the reason is because of lack of activities and posts. That's been the case for Hinako who needs one more post to qualify but have one almost completed. She is a busy woman but most things aren't for posts which many may be glad of as she's the most unpopular gal I post about on a regular occasion, fifth was her position last year.
#10.... Nashiko Momotsuki, ninth on the last list
She could have remained in the that position but wanted to sneak the next person into the top ten. But can see Nashiko moving up a few spots on the final list as she has her first photobook coming out next month. She's my current fave gravure model but is much more than that if you've read her posts.
#9.... Mai Shiraishi, unranked on the previous list
Though she should have been ranked last time and was on the first list. There's really nothing I can add in about Mai after 370 posts and will try to have two more before the month is up. Of course most know that October 28th is the date of her departure from Nogi but she is going out on a high note. She's made previous yearly lists and my all time one but this could be her first time in the top ten.
