Tsubasa Honda: Few recent smatterings....

Perhaps this could be considered a mini 'unpopular gals' day as neither of today's posts feature a mega fave of you viewers, it's easy to understand why for the next person who is kind of new here. But how I hate to pin the label 'unpopular' on Tsubasa but there doesn't seem to be any alternative. Was a tad curious how well her posts did last year for views, of the 28 Japanese women with six or more posts last year she had been the only one I didn't figure out the average for.

That average is for how many views their posts receive, thought Tsubasa would end up around 20th. For so many years she's been stuck in the middle, not real popular but her posts would be among the most heavily viewed for any actress. So what a shock it was to discover that out of 28 woman her average placed her in the.... 27th position!!!! Wow, that blew my mind and she only beat the cellar dweller by four, 329 views compared to 325. Really wonder why Tsubasa has fallen so low in the eyes of you viewers, almost everyone's posts have seen such a huge increase in views and 2020 has seen the most views than any year by a wide margin yet her post views dropped by 26% compared to 2019, I'm at a loss why though there's probably some good reasons.

That's no knock on anyone for her diminishing popularity, can understand why to an extent. Will admit her or other actresses' posts aren't as 'exciting' as Idol ones plus they rarely have photobooks. Also with no books it means we rarely see gravure pics of many gals and that's always been the case with Tsubasa. However that's a huge reason why she's such a massive fave of mine and she still does have a fan base here though it's dwindled. But if there's one thing to expect here are posts for her, won't happen for over a year but she'll be the third actress to hit the 200 post milestone and no woman has had more posts then her since 2015.

These past sixteen months have been the slowest ever for Tsubasa. She has been in two dramas but the second ended way back in March. She's also appeared at only one event, there's been plenty of mag spreads but always with the same 2-3. However her 'quiet periods' are often busier than others busy stretches, think I've taken her for granted over the years. Hmmmm, she did deserve a break after being the busiest actress/model over the last eight years. So was wondering what she's been doing with that extra time and of all things, sigh.... becoming an expert at paper airplanes. sigh....

Grrrr, the only gal to appear on all six yearly favs list and that's not the way to make it seven! No upcoming dramas or films but Tsubasa will be in a TV movie airing January 10th on NTV called 'Twenty Conditions to Love with an App' or something along those lines.

Speaking of dramas just have one more episode to go for "CHEAT". Recapped the first six shows but stopped at that mark, really have become burnt out writing them and wanted to take a break for a month. But this is one superb series and think it'll go down as being my third fave J-drama from 2019. The CHEAT team was formed by a detective named Anzai to help victims who have been swindled and they're cases the police can't or won't solve. Her character named Saki is the leader of the group and through six shows the team solved every case but did they really?

That's because it appears Anzai isn't who he appears to be, could he be the mythical Namikoa? He's supposedly the top swindler around and at first the fingers pointed at Saki's father to be this villain but in the ninth show it's been proven he isn't. And throw out those first six cases solved by the CHEAT team as all of the victims are actually working for Anzai, but why? There have been so many twists in the plot during episodes seven to nine, can't wait tor the finale and it's hard to do a show this good justice in two paragraphs. Though her boss could be the mythical Namioka and could destroy the lives of the CHEAT team Saki had a larger issue in episode eight. That's of her secret life of Momo who is an underground Idol, it was discovered by her teammates just before their first major concert.

Let's see how well AKB experts remember faces. One of my biggest faves from the group appeared in episode seven and truly looked better than ever, she'll also be in the final show.

Bit late for the holiday but never to late to celebrate with Miss Claus....

Pics four and five are brand new plus hope it stays Miss for many more years. Let's get to some new pics and am positive 2021 will be much busier for Tsubasa. Have many new pics here from the Gelato site and I think she still looks so oki doki, actually much better than that!

Have many more superb modeling pics which are from the More site.

A Tsubasa film I've never viewed is "Blue Spring Ride" that came out in 2014. Think the reason was she was 22 in age and yet still played the role of a high school gal. Of course she doesn't portray those kinds of characters these days but she did for longer than I liked. The film had it's premiere on December 13, 2014 and did do a post for it. But a month prior there was a min event for it and have never had pics from it until now, there's also a few promo stills for the movie.

Think I will break down and view the film, figure it's from so long ago what does it matter what age her character was plus it does star another huge fave of mine. Tsubasa stars in so many enjoyable CM's and at the bottom will have a new one for GameWith, there's also a short behind the scenes segment.

As mentioned there's been plenty of spreads this year but most have just been for 2-3 magazines. One is Spring and these are from their January issue.

Will end off with another Spring spread which is from their February edition, not even 2021 yet. Tsubasa has another cover as she remains so popular in Japan though not here and another reason may be because I've always thought she has a huge female fan base. With the kind of modeling and magazine pics she does these days it does make sense but would like to see her 'vamp' it up more on occasion, after the pics is her new CM.
